Parametric Interpolation To Scattered Data [QA281. A995 2008 f rb].
Dua skema interpolasi berparameter yang mengandungi interpolasi global untuk data tersebar am dan interpolasi pengekalan-kepositifan setempat data tersebar positif dibincangkan.
Two schemes of parametric interpolation consisting of a global scheme to interpolate general scattered data and a local positivity-preserving scheme to interpolate positive scattered data are described
Bivariate Hermite subdivision
A subdivision scheme for constructing smooth surfaces interpolating scattered data in is proposed. It is also possible to impose derivative constraints in these points. In the case of functional data, i.e., data are given in a properly triangulated set of points from which none of the pairs and with coincide, it is proved that the resulting surface (function) is . The method is based on the construction of a sequence of continuous splines of degree 3. Another subdivision method, based on constructing a sequence of splines of degree 5 which are once differentiable, yields a function which is if the data are not 'too irregular'. Finally the approximation properties of the methods are investigated
Planewave density interpolation methods for 3D Helmholtz boundary integral equations
This paper introduces planewave density interpolation methods for the
regularization of weakly singular, strongly singular, hypersingular and nearly
singular integral kernels present in 3D Helmholtz surface layer potentials and
associated integral operators. Relying on Green's third identity and pointwise
interpolation of density functions in the form of planewaves, these methods
allow layer potentials and integral operators to be expressed in terms of
integrand functions that remain smooth (at least bounded) regardless the
location of the target point relative to the surface sources. Common
challenging integrals that arise in both Nystr\"om and boundary element
discretization of boundary integral equation, can then be numerically evaluated
by standard quadrature rules that are irrespective of the kernel singularity.
Closed-form and purely numerical planewave density interpolation procedures are
presented in this paper, which are used in conjunction with Chebyshev-based
Nystr\"om and Galerkin boundary element methods. A variety of numerical
examples---including problems of acoustic scattering involving multiple
touching and even intersecting obstacles, demonstrate the capabilities of the
proposed technique
Piecewise polynomial monotonic interpolation of 2D gridded data
International audienceA method for interpolating monotone increasing 2D scalar data with a monotone piecewise cubic C-continuous surface is presented. Monotonicity is a sufficient condition for a function to be free of critical points inside its domain. The standard axial monotonicity for tensor-product surfaces is however too restrictive. We therefore introduce a more relaxed monotonicity constraint. We derive sufficient conditions on the partial derivatives of the interpolating function to ensure its monotonicity. We then develop two algorithms to effectively construct a monotone C surface composed of cubic triangular Bézier surfaces interpolating a monotone gridded data set. Our method enables to interpolate given topological data such as minima, maxima and saddle points at the corners of a rectangular domain without adding spurious extrema inside the function domain. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the performance of the algorithm
Watertight conversion of trimmed CAD surfaces to Clough-Tocher splines
The boundary representations (B-reps) that are used to represent shape in Computer-Aided Design systems create unavoidable gaps at the face boundaries of a model. Although these inconsistencies can be kept below the scale that is important for visualisation and manufacture, they cause problems for many downstream tasks, making it difficult to use CAD models directly for simulation or advanced geometric analysis, for example. Motivated by this need for watertight models, we address the problem of converting B-rep models to a collection of cubic C1C1 Clough–Tocher splines. These splines allow a watertight join between B-rep faces, provide a homogeneous representation of shape, and also support local adaptivity.
We perform a comparative study of the most prominent Clough–Tocher constructions and include some novel variants. Our criteria include visual fairness, invariance to affine reparameterisations, polynomial precision and approximation error. The constructions are tested on both synthetic data and CAD models that have been triangulated. Our results show that no construction is optimal in every scenario, with surface quality depending heavily on the triangulation and parameterisation that are used. This research was supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council through Grant EP/K503757/1.This is the final version. Range restricted C2 interpolant to scattered data
The construction of a range restricted bivariate C2 interpolant to scattered data is considered in which the interpolant is positive everywhere if the original data are positive. Sufficient conditions are derived on Bezier points in order to ensure that surfaces comprising quintic Bezier triangular patches are always positive and satisfy C2 continuity conditions. The first and second derivatives at the data sites are then calculated (and modified if necessary) to ensure that these conditions are satisfied. Its construction is local and easily extended to include as upper and lower constraints to the interpolating surfaces of the form z = C(x,y) where C is a polynomial of degree less or equal to 5. A number of examples are presented
A survey of partial differential equations in geometric design
YesComputer aided geometric design is an area
where the improvement of surface generation techniques
is an everlasting demand since faster and more accurate
geometric models are required. Traditional methods
for generating surfaces were initially mainly based
upon interpolation algorithms. Recently, partial differential
equations (PDE) were introduced as a valuable
tool for geometric modelling since they offer a number
of features from which these areas can benefit. This work
summarises the uses given to PDE surfaces as a surface
generation technique togethe
