A hypervelocity star with a Magellanic origin
Using proper motion measurements from Gaia DR2, we probe the origin of 26
previously known hypervelocity stars (HVSs) around the Milky Way. We find that
a significant fraction of these stars have a high probability of originating
close to the Milky Way centre, but there is one obvious outlier. HVS3 is highly
likely to be coming almost from the centre of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC).
During its closest approach, Myr ago, it had a relative
velocity of kms with respect to the LMC. This large
kick velocity is only consistent with the Hills mechanism, requiring a massive
black hole at the centre of the LMC. This provides strong direct evidence that

Hepatic artery thrombosis after pediatric liver transplantation a medical or surgical event
Hepatic artery thrombosis (HAT) is one of the most serious complications after orthotopic liver transplan¬tation, and is associated with a high morbidity and mor¬tality. This study retrospectively reviewed 66 liver transplants in children under the age of 10 years during1 a year-long period at a single institution.;A, total of 28 perioperative variables were analyzed to identify responsible factors of HAT. Of the 66 children, 18 (26%) developed HAT within 15 days after the transplant (HAT group); 29 (42%) had an uneventful postoperative course (control group). To avoid the possible influence of other complications 19 patients were excluded. Of the variables compared between the 2 study groups, three surgical factors (diameter of the hepatic artery-- greater or less than 3 mm; type of arterial anastomosis—end-to-end versus the use of an iliac graft or aortic conduit; and number of times the anastomosis was redone--one versus more than one), were found to be significantly different (P<.05) between HAT and control groups. Two medical factors also were significantly different: the use of intraoperative transfusion of fresh frozen plasma (FFP) and the administration of postoperative prophylactic anticoagulant treatment. A heparin and dextran-40 protocol appeared to be effective in preventing HAT (P<.02). Eesti 26 dermatoveneroloogi 12 keskusest korraldasid 2003/2004. a uuringu “Akne, meeleoluhäired ja Roaccutane ®”, milles osales 116 aknega patsienti, keda raviti isotretioniiniga 24 nädala vältel. Akne põhjustab haigetele palju emotsionaalseid ja psühhosotsiaalseid probleeme. Ainus patogeneetiliselt mõjuv ravim on isotretioniin.

Infections in patients with lymphoproliferative diseases treated with targeted agents: SEIFEM multicentric retrospective study
We describe the opportunistic infections occurring in 362 patients with lymphoproliferative disorders treated with ibrutinib and idelalisib in clinical practice. Overall, 108 of 362 patients (29·8%) developed infections, for a total of 152 events. Clinically defined infections (CDI) were 49·3% (75/152) and microbiologically defined infections (MDI) were 50·7% (77/152). Among 250 patients treated with ibrutinib, 28·8% (72/250) experienced one or more infections, for a total of 104 episodes. MDI were 49% (51/104). Bacterial infections were 66·7% (34/51), viral 19·6% (10/51) and invasive fungal diseases (IFD) 13·7% (7/51). Among the 112 patients treated with idelalisib, 32·1% (36/112) experienced one or more infections, for a total of 48 episodes. MDI were 54·2% (26/48). Bacterial infections were 34·6% (9/26), viral 61·5% (16/26) and IFD 3·8% (1/26). With ibrutinib, the rate of bacterial infections was significantly higher compared to idelalisib (66·7% vs. 34·6%; P = 0·007), while viral infections were most frequent in idelalisib (61·5% vs. 19·6%; P < 0·001). Although a higher rate of IFD was observed in patients treated with ibrutinib, the difference was not statistically significant (13·7% vs. 3·8% respectively; P = 0·18). Bacteria are the most frequent infections with ibrutinib, while viruses are most frequently involved with idelalisib
On the effect of emission lines on the UBVR photometry
We investigate the effect on the U, B, V, Rc and Rj magnitudes of the removal
of emission lines from a spectrum. We determined "Dm" corrections from the
ratio of fluxes with and without emission lines, transmitted from the object
through the photometric filter. An exact and a simplified approach for
operative use were applied. The effect was demonstrated for classical symbiotic
stars, symbiotic novae and the classical nova V1974 Cyg. It was found that
about 20-30, 30-40, 10 and 26/20 percents of the observed flux in the U, B, V
and Rc/Rj filter, respectively, is radiated in the emission lines of the
investigated classical symbiotic stars. The largest effect was found for
symbiotic novae (RR Tel and V1016 Cyg) and the classical nova V1974 Cyg at 210
days (in average of 74, 79, 56 and 66/60 percents). Examples for practical

beta-Cu2V2O7: a spin-1/2 honeycomb lattice system
We report on band structure calculations and a microscopic model of the
low-dimensional magnet beta-Cu2V2O7. Magnetic properties of this compound can
be described by a spin-1/2 anisotropic honeycomb lattice model with the
averaged coupling \bar J1=60-66 K. The low symmetry of the crystal structure
leads to two inequivalent couplings J1 and J1', but this weak spatial
anisotropy does not affect the essential physics of the honeycomb spin lattice.
The structural realization of the honeycomb lattice is highly non-trivial: the
leading interactions J1 and J1' run via double bridges of VO4 tetrahedra
between spatially separated Cu atoms, while the interactions between structural
nearest neighbors are negligible. The non-negligible inter-plane coupling
Jperp~15 K gives rise to the long-range magnetic ordering at TN~26 K. Our model
simulations improve the fit of the magnetic susceptibility data, compared to
the previously assumed spin-chain models. Additionally, the simulated ordering
temperature of 27 K is in remarkable agreement with the experiment. Our study
evaluates beta-Cu2V2O7 as the best available experimental realization of the
spin-1/2 Heisenberg model on the honeycomb lattice. We also provide an
instructive comparison of different band structure codes and computational

Pembuatan Elektroda Selektif Ion Timbal (II) Berbasis S-methyl-n(methylcarbamoyloxy) Thioacetimidate
Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pembuatan Elektroda Selektif Ion timbal (II) berbasis S-Methyl-N(Methylcarbamoyloxy) Thioacetimidate tipe kawat terlapis. Membran dilapiskan pada kawat Platina yang terbuat dari S-Methyl-N(Methylcarbamoyloxy) Thioacetimidate sebagai ionofor, polivinilklorida (PVC) sebagai matriks polimer dan dioktilftalat (DOP) sebagai pemlastis dalam pelarut THF 1:1,5 (%b/v). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan komposisi membran dan waktu perendaman membran yang optimum sehingga menghasilkan ESI yang bersifat Nernstian. Variasi komposisi membran yang digunakan tersusun dari S-Methyl-N(Methylcarbamoyloxy) Thioacetimidate : PVC: DOP (%b/b) =17: 17: 66 (komposisi I), 19: 27: 54 (komposisi II), dan 20: 26: 52 (komposisi III) dilarutkan dalam pelarut THF dengan perbandingan 1:1,5 (%b/v). Variasi waktu perendaman membran yang digunakan adalah 10, 30, 50, 60, 80, dan 120 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi membran yang bersifat Nernstian dihasilkan pada komposisi membran (I) dengan perbandingan S-Methyl-N(Methylcarbamoyloxy) Thioacetimidate : PVC : DOP = 17 :17 :66 (% b/b) yang menghasilkan harga faktor Nernst sebesar 29,26 (mV dekade/konsentrasi) dalam rentang konsentrasi timbal (II) 10-5-10-1 M dengan waktu perendaman membran ESI timbal (II) yang optimum adalah 60 menit
