    El turismo es una actividad clave dentro de la econom铆a espa帽ola y dentro de este sector, una de las vertientes que est谩 en pleno auge en muchas de las ciudades espa帽olas es la relacionada con el mundo del hospedaje. Un claro ejemplo de una de esas ciudades es precisamente Toledo, y es en ella en la que se centrar谩 este estudio, en el que trataremos de abordar la evoluci贸n del sector hotelero entre los a帽os 2005 y 2016 con el fin de analizar y plantear las principales repercusiones de la crisis econ贸mica de 2008.Tourism has become one of the most important activities on the Spanish economy, and within this sector, one of the aspects which is in expanding business in many Spanish cities is the hotel industry. A clear example of one of those cities is precisely Toledo, the one we are focusing at in this study, in which we will try to tackle the evolution of the hotel industry between 2005 and 2016 in order to analyze and discuss the impact of the economic crisis of 2008

    En el proyecto se estudia la viabilidad de instalar una planta de producci贸n de hidr贸geno, en uno de los parques e贸licos de la compa帽铆a CETASA (Soria), con la finalidad de suministrar hidr贸geno a los veh铆culos que han estado circulando por la ciudad con motivo del proyecto europeo Hychain. Esta planta aprovechar铆a las paradas que deben realizarse por motivos de gesti贸n de la producci贸n del parque, poniendo en marcha los aerogeneradores parados y empleando la energ铆a el茅ctrica que 茅stos generen para la producci贸n del hidr贸geno. En la primera parte del proyecto, 茅ste se contextualiza definiendo el concepto econom铆a del hidr贸geno, analizando las diferentes aplicaciones, formas de producci贸n, almacenaje y transporte del hidr贸geno. Y describiendo las bases del proyecto Hychain. En una segunda parte, se describe la ubicaci贸n, condiciones climatol贸gicas y funcionamiento del parque.     Long-term temporal dynamics of the Duke Forest

    In this dissertation, I describe a series of permanent sample plots in the North Carolina Piedmont used to examine near-century forest processes and to evaluate how observed trends can inform existing conceptual models. Specifically, 80 years of tree growth and forest composition were recorded across all succession phases in a series of successional Pinus taeda stands and second-growth Quercus-Carya and Liriodendron-Liquidambar hardwood stands in the Duke Forest. I use these long-term data to scrutinize classical theories of community dynamics and growth trends in Piedmont forests that have served as a model system for successional research for nearly 100 years. Specifically, using a suite of multivariate statistics I examine whether old-field pine forests have succeeded toward putative climax compositions or whether deviations in successional trajectories have occurred owing to shifts in species composition and disturbance events. I additionally examine whether biomass of successional stands can be predicted based on canopy mortality and lags in regeneration and whether growth rates of later-stage forests have increased more than expected over the last century. 80-year biomass and growth trends in successional plots confirm the importance of canopy density and mortality in driving these patterns, but lag patterns in post-hurricane regeneration are not yet formally discernible. In contrast, second-growth hardwood plots demonstrate consistent biomass accumulation and continued increases in growth rate, despite having achieved biomass levels found in more static old-growth forests. Community analyses indicate that successional stands experienced shifting compositional trajectories that were accelerated by Hurricane Fran and resulted in replacement of upland-associated hardwood species (e.g., Cornus florida) with species associated with more mesic stands (e.g., Acer rubrum, Liquidambar styraciflua, and Fagus grandifolia). A similar replacement of putative climax species (e.g., Quercus alba) with A. rubrum occurred in understories of late-successional hardwood stands. In contrast with accepted successional models, these results are in line with mounting evidence of unanticipated and less predictable forest dynamics over the last century. Such changes could be the result of changing climate patterns or anthropogenic impacts. Regardless, more mechanistic experiments must be developed to determine the cause of these seemingly-widespread patterns to better inform global change and forestry models.Doctor of Philosoph
