This study aimed to determine: (1) the influence of Learning Outcomes Productive Subjects with Achievement Industrial Work Practices students of grade XII Electronics Engineering Skills Program at SMKN 3 Yogyakarta Academic Year 2012/2013. (2) the influence Self-Reliance Learning with Achievement Industrial Work Practices students of grade XII Electronics Engineering Skills Program at SMKN 3 Yogyakarta Academic Year 2012/2013. (3) the influence of Learning Outcomes Productive Subjects and Self-Reliance Learning jointly with Achievement Industrial Work Practices students of grade XII Electronics Engineering Skills Program at SMKN 3 Yogyakarta Academic Year 2012/2013. This research is a study of ex post facto. The population of the research are students of grade XII Electronics Engineering Skills Program Academic Year 2012/2013 amounts to 69 students who entirely taken as a subject of research. Testing instruments has implemented by 33 student of grade XI Electronics Engineering Skills Program. The validity of the tests carries out by the technique of Pearson Product Moment correlation, whereas the reliability test used Alpha Cronbach formula. To know how the influence of Learning Outcomes Productive Subject with Achievement Industrial Work Practices and the influence of Self-Reliance Learning with Achievement Industrial Work Practices can use analysis techniques of Product Moment correlation. Regression analysis techniques use to know the influence of Learning Outcomes Productive Subject and Self-Reliance Learning jointly with the Achievements Industrial Work Practices. The results showed that: (1) there is a positive influence between Learning Outcomes Productive Subject with Achievement Industrial Work Practices students of grade XII Electronics Engineering Skills Program at SMKN 3 Yogyakarta Academic Year 2012/2013 as evidenced by the price of rx1y (0,340) is greater than rtabel (0.235) at the 5% significance level. (2) there is a positive influence between Self-Reliance Learning with Achievement Industrial Work Practices students of grade XII Electronics Engineering Skills Program at SMKN 3 Yogyakarta Academic Year 2012/2013 as evidenced by the price rx2y (0,353) greater than rtabel (0.235) at the 5% significance level. (3) there is a positive influence between Learning Outcomes Productive Subject and Self- Reliance Learning jointly with Achievements Industrial Work Practices students of grade XII Electronics Engineering Skills Program at SMKN 3 Yogyakarta Academic Year 2012/2013 as evidenced by the price of Ry (1,2) (0,440) greater than rtabel (0.235) at the 5% significance level. The coefficient of determination is (R2y (1, 2)) of 0,194. Effective contribution of Learning Outcomes Productive Subject of 9,2732% and Self-Reliance Learning of 10,1268%. Jobseeker's allowance sanctions and disallowances

This article describes the large rise since 2005 in the number of Jobseeker's Allowance claimants being subjected to 'sanctions' or 'disallowances' and consequently losing their benefits, to a total of 792,000 such penalties in the year to 21 October 2012. It examines the reasons given for the penalties, showing that disqualifications for leaving a job voluntarily or losing it through misconduct have fallen dramatically in the current recession, with more aggressive types of penalty rising correspondingly more. It describes the regime of 'hardship payments' available to some sanctioned claimants. Finally it estimates that the amount of money lost by claimants, net of hardship payments, has risen from about £37m in 2005 to about £140m in the year to October 2012, and that it would have been about £250m in the latter year had the new regime of lengthier sanctions started on 22 October 2012 been in force

This research has the purpose (1) determine the relationship between student perceptions about the computer laboratory facilities with ICT learning achievement of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Gamping academic year 2012/2013, (2) determine the relationship between the student activeness learning with ICT on student achievement grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Gamping academic year 2012/2013 and (3) determine the relationship between the perceptions of students about computer laboratory facilities and student activeness together with ICT learning achievement of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Gamping academic year 2012/2013. The population in this research is students of class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Gamping with population of 105 students and the sample used is 84 students. The sample calculation using proportional random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used were questionnaires and documentation. The test instrument made to students by 50 respondents. Test the validity of the instrument is done by using Product Moment formula, while the reliability test conducted using Cronbach's Alpha formula. Hypothesis testing performed using a simple correlation analysis and multiple correlation analysis with significance level of 5%. The results of this research show that: first, there is a positive and significant relationship between student perceptions about the computer laboratory facilities with ICT learning achievement of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Gamping academic year 2012/2013 with a correlation coefficient of 0.285 rx1y (rcount = 0.281> = 0.212 rtable ). Second, there is a positive and significant relationship between the student activeness learning with ICT learning achievement grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Gamping academic year 2012/2013 with a correlation coefficient of 0.381 rx2y (rcount = 0.381> rtable = 0.212). Thirdly there is a positive and significant relationship between student perceptions about computer laboratory facilities and student activeness learning together with ICT learning achievement SMA Negeri 1 Gamping with a correlation coefficient R of 0.430, the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.185 and 8.947 for Fcount (Fcount = 8.947> Ftable 5% = 3.11). Keyword : student perceptions of computer laboratory facilities, activeness learning, learning achievemen

In 2012, FSG and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation published five in-depth case studies on leading blended learning practitioners across the country called "Blended Learning in Practice: Case Studies from Leading Schools". A key question that emerged from this work was how schools can manage the rapid pace of change inherent in blended learning. This case study, a Year 2 follow up in the 2012-13 school year, examines how a rigorous, intentional process for innovation has enabled Summit Public Schools San Jose to continuously improve its blended and whole school learning model

How has the Louisiana Scholarship Program Affected Students? A Comprehensive Summary of Effects After Two Years

    Get PDF
Louisiana, a state whose educational performance has lagged behind national averages for decades, began its experiment with publicly financed scholarships for students to attend private schools in 2008. The pilot version of the Louisiana Scholarship Program (LSP) was expanded statewide with the passage of Act 2 of the 2012 Louisiana state legislative session. Nearly 10,000 students applied to the expanded program in 2012-13, with roughly 5,000 applicants receiving scholarships. The program has continued its rapid expansion every year since then, with nearly 7,500 scholarships awarded in the 2014-15 school year

Pop III GRBs: an estimative of the event rate for future surveys

We discuss the theoretical event rate of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) from the collapse of massive primordial stars. We construct a theoretical model to calculate the rate and detectability of these GRBs taking into account all important feedback and recent results from numerical simulations of pristine gas. We expect to observe a maximum of N ≲\lesssim 0.2 GRBs per year integrated over at z > 6 with \textit{Swift} and N ≲\lesssim 10 GRBs per year integrated over at z > 6 with EXIST.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, published in Proceedings of the Gamma-Ray Bursts 2012 Conference (GRB 2012
