Formation of international relations discipline: idealism / realism debate and autonomy of the discipline

Uluslararası İlişkiler disiplini sosyal bilimlerin öteki disiplinleriyle karşılaştırıldığında kısa bir tarihe sahiptir. Her ne kadar modern devletler arasındaki ilişkilerin 1648 tarihli Westphalia Anlaşması ile başladığı kabul edilse de, bu tür ilişkiler uzun süre uluslararası hukuk, tarih ve siyaset bilimi içerisinde değerlendirilmiştir. Ancak Birinci Dünya Savaşı’ndan sonra bunlardan ayrı bir alan olarak belirmeye başlayan disiplinin bugün özerkliğinin yerleştiği konusunda geniş bir kabul vardır. Bu çalışmada, Uluslararası İlişkiler’in disiplin ve kuramsal özerkliğinin oluşum evresi ilk dönem idealizm/realizm tartışması bağlamında incelenecek; tartışma ekseninde yer alan iddiaların geçerlilik düzeyleri sorgulanmadan bu tartışmanın disiplinin özerkliğine nasıl zemin hazırladığı belirlenmeye çalışılacaktır.International Relations discipline has a short history in comparison to other disciplines in social sciences. Even if it is widely accepted that modern international relations had begun with the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648, this kind of relations had been examined within law, history and political science for a long time. Today there is a great consensus that autonomy of the discipline, which began to appear as a separate field only after the First World War, has established. In this article, formative stage of disciplinary and theoretical autonomy of the discipline will be examined in conjunction with idealism/realism debate of the first period; without questioning the validity of assumptions of in this debate it will be tried to clarify how it prepared a framework for the autonomy of the discipline

A Bibliyographic Study on the Ph. D. and M.A Theses Done Between 1987-1999 on Turkish Language and Literature I

In this article a thesis bibliography has been formed on Turkis Language and literature through collecting several articles defining thesis works and information sources of the institutions gathering necessary knowledge on this subject. The work has been divided in four parts. Folk Literature, New Turkish Literature, Turkish Language and Old Turkish Literature. In this article fırst two topics which are Folk and New Turkish Literature have been published. The rest will be published in coming issues

Cathars: An Analysis on the Heretic Christian Religious Movement of Balkan Origin Killed By Burning ın the Middle Age of Europe by Catholics

Cathars, a Christian dualist-gnostic order of the Middle Ages, is not known well in our country and has some certain striking features among the religious movement in this cultural area. The Cathars were denounced as heretics due to the mentioned features, and attracted the antagonism of the Churchseverely by their irreconcilable stances in basic dogmas and practices including the perception of God, baptism, Jesus Christ, Holy Virgin, the primordial sin, the Sacred Scripture. Thus, they witnessed the greatest massacres in a manner unprecedently throughout the history. As a result of the attacks of the Papacy and the Inquisition against their leaders as well as their proponents, thousands of their followers were sacrificed. Moreover, the Cathars put their stamp on history as one of the most oppressed societies within the history in consequence of the carnages carried out by a certain Crusade called Albigeois, and they were exterminated by burning at the stake, which indicates the extent of the oppression they witnessed

Analyzing the articles published in the field of flute in Turkey: Türkiye’de flüt alanında yayımlanan makalelerin incelenmesi

This study, which aims to examine the articles published in the field of flute in Turkey in terms of various characteristics and to determine the current situation, was designed in descriptive survey model. The 103 articles, which can be accessed by typing the keyword "flute" in Google Scholar, Dergipark, Sobiad databases and Google search engine, were analyzed with a descriptive analysis approach according to the variables of "field, year, subject, method, number of authors, composer studied, journal in which it was published, index in which it was indexed". According to the results of the research, it was determined that the articles published in the field of flute showed a balanced distribution in terms of field type in the field of flute education and outside the field of flute education, were mostly published in 2019, focused on flute techniques, especially on work analysis and etude/method analysis, mainly adopted qualitative method and survey model as method type, mostly single-authored, and W.A. Mozart and E. Köhler were the leading composers covered in their subjects. In addition, it was concluded that these articles, which were published in 52 different journals, were mostly indexed in indexes other than international field indexes, TR Index and journals that are not indexed in any index, and least indexed in journals in ESCI- Scopus and H.W. Wilson indexes, which are known as international field indexes. (Extended English summary is at the end of this document)   Özet Türkiye’de flüt alanında yayımlanan makalelerin çeşitli özellikleri açısından incelenmesi ile mevcut durumunun belirlenmesi amacını taşıyan bu araştırma, betimsel tarama modelinde tasarlanmıştır. Google Akademik, Dergipark, Sobiad veri tabanlarına ve Google arama motoruna "flüt" anahtar kelimesi yazılarak ulaşılabilen 103 makale, betimsel analiz yaklaşımı ile "alan, yıl, konu, yöntem, yazar sayısı, işlenilen besteci, yayımlandığı dergi, tarandığı index (dizin) değişkenlerine göre dağılımları incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre flüt alanında yayımlanan makalelerin alan türü bakımından flüt eğitimi alanında ve flüt eğitimi alanı dışında dengeli bir dağılım gösterdiği, en fazla 2019 yılında yayımlandığı, flüt teknikleri başta olmak üzere eser inceleme ve etüt/metot inceleme konuları üzerine yoğunlaştığı, ağırlıklı olarak nitel yöntemi ve yöntem türü olarak tarama modelini benimsediği, çoğunlukla tek yazarlı olduğu, konularında işlenen bestecilerin başında W.A. Mozart ve E. Köhler geldiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, 52 çeşit dergide yayımlanan bu makalelerin en çok sırasıyla uluslararası alan indexleri dışındaki diğer indexlerde, TR Dizin’de ve hiçbir indexte taranmayan dergilerde dizinlendiği; en az ise uluslararası alan indexleri olarak bilinen ESCI- Scopus ve H.W. Wilson indexleri kaspamındaki dergilerde tarandığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır

TÜRKİYE’DE REKABET ALANINDA YAPILAN LİSANSÜSTÜ TEZLERE YÖNELİK BİR İNCELEME

Bu çalışmanın amacı, stratejik yönetimin önemli konularından biri olan rekabet ile ilgili Türkiye’deki üniversitelerde yapılmış olan lisansüstü tezlerin incelenmesidir. Bu kapsamda çalışmada 2010-2017 yılları arasında, sosyal bilimler alanında yapılan lisansüstü tezler incelenmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre, tezlerin % 68,75’i yüksek lisans tezi, %93,1’i Türkçe, %23,1’i 2010 yılında yürütülmüş, en fazla çalışılan üniversite Marmara Üniversitesi, anabilim dalı ise işletmedir. Rekabet konusu 2016 yılında doktora tezlerinde daha fazla kullanılmıştır. Nicel yöntemlerden frekans analizi, korelasyon analizi, faktör analizi, Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi ve Kümeleme Analizi, nitel yöntemlerden ise Elmas Modeli sıklıkla kullanılmıştır. En yaygın kullanılan veri toplama aracı ankettir. Rekabet ile ilgili stratejiler, rekabet gücü ve avantajı, rekabette sürdürülebilirlik ve uluslararasılaşma konularına yoğunlaşılmıştır. Rekabet ile birlikte en sık kullanılan ilk beş kavram/konu ana tema olarak sırasıyla performans, inovasyon/yenilik, kümelenme/dışsal ağlar ve pazarlamadır. İncelenen tezlerin %13,29’u birden fazla sektörde faaliyet gösteren işletmelerde; %12,03’ü Turizm, Konaklama, Yiyecek-İçecek Hizmetleri sektöründe, %10,13’ü ise İş ve Yönetim sektöründe uygulanmıştır

A Study on the Epic of Keşanlı Ali by Haldun Taner

Haldun Taner, Cumhuriyet dönemi Türk tiyatrosuna yeni yönelişler, anlayışlar ve tarzlar getirmiş bir tiyatro yazarıdır. Keşanlı Ah Destanı ile epik tiyatro türünde başarılı bir eser ortaya koymuştur. Devlet gücünün ve kanunların değil de zorbalığın hakim olduğu gecekondu insanının hayatını konu aldığı bu eserle yerli tipler yaratmış, onların konuşma, davranış ve hayat anlayışlarını iyi bir şekilde sergilemesini bilmiştir. Haldun Taner is a playwright who introduced new directions, approaches and thematic views to Turkish theather. With his work Keşanlı Ali Destanı, he brought in a new successful example of epic theatre. In this work, he deseribes skillfully the lives of people living in shanty houses and creates new characters. He aslo displays beautifully their ways in daily conversations, behaviour, and their philosophy of life in general

A new dimension in the digital world: An exploration of the concept of metaverse

Bu çalışma kapsamında bir sosyal medya bileşeni olarak Youtube üzerinde yer alan Metaverse ile ilgili videoların, söylem analizi bağlamında incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaçla çalışmada Metaverse konulu videolar, Gerçekliğin Sosyal İnşası (Berger & Luckmann, 1991) teorisinden hareketle, medyada gerçekliğin inşası temele alınarak toplumsal bilgi ve toplumsal gerçekliğin oluşumundaki etkin rolü çerçevesine incelenmektedir. Bu amaçla Youtube üzerinde yer alan Metaverse ile ilgili videolar, Van Dijk’ın söylem analizi ekseninde incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda; dijital ortamların yarattığı sanal evrenin, fiziki evren ile olan ilişkisinin ortaya konduğu videolarda Metaverse kavramının sıklıkla gündelik yaşam aktiviteleri ile ilişkilendirildiği görülmektedir. Böylelikle deneyim alanı dışında kalan soyut nitelikte bilgilerin, medya içerikleri ile oluşturulan sembolik evren aracılığı ile izleyici algısında nesnelleştirilmeye çalışıldığı söylenebilir. Bu yaklaşım, aynı zamanda bilginin meşrulaştırılması yolu ile izah edilebilir anlamlı bir bütünlük ile verilmesini de destekler niteliktedir. Bunun yanı sıra video içeriklerinde, Metaverse kavramının özü itibariyle sunduğu çoklu gerçeklik ortamları içinde kişinin ortak duyusuna hitap edecek bir gerçeklik alanı sunulduğu da görülmüştür. Bu bağlamda sembolik evrenler içerisindeki çoklu gerçeklik alanları arasından gündelik yaşam bilgisini daha gerçek olarak algılamaya meyilli olan birey için, kavrama algısal düzeyde bir seçicilik sağlanmaya çalışıldığı da söylenebilir.Within the scope of this study, it is aimed to examine the videos about Metaverse on Youtube as a social media component in the context of discourse analysis. For this purpose, videos on the Metaverse are examined within the framework of social knowledge and its active role in the formation of social reality, based on the theory of Social Construction of Reality (Berger & Luckmann, 1991) on the basis of the construction of reality in the media. As a result of the study; In the videos where the relationship between the virtual universe created by digital environments and the physical universe is revealed, it is seen that the concept of Metaverse is often associated with daily life activities. Thus, it can be said that abstract information outside the field of experience is tried to be objectified in the perception of the audience through the symbolic universe created with media contents. This approach also supports the provision of information with a meaningful integrity that can be explained through legitimation. In addition, it has been observed that a reality space that will appeal to the common sense of the person is presented in the video contents, within the multi-reality environments that the concept of Metaverse presents in essence. In this context, it can be said that among the multiple reality fields within the symbolic universes, an attempt is made to provide a selectivity at the perceptual level for the individual who is inclined to perceive the knowledge of daily life as more real
