THE TRANSITS OF CONSCIOUSNESS

Edgar Wilson, M.D. a physician and founder of the Colorado Association for Psychophysiologic Research did research on brain states correlated with states of consciousness for fifteen years. He was especially interested in the transcendent and dissociative states and for 3 years before his death in November 1993, had been considering the effects of brain-based learning technologies on such states. This article is adapted from an address he gave in 1991 and a technical report on a study done with six subjects using a Hemi-Sync process.

Prefix Codes for Power Laws with Countable Support

In prefix coding over an infinite alphabet, methods that consider specific distributions generally consider those that decline more quickly than a power law (e.g., Golomb coding). Particular power-law distributions, however, model many random variables encountered in practice. For such random variables, compression performance is judged via estimates of expected bits per input symbol. This correspondence introduces a family of prefix codes with an eye towards near-optimal coding of known distributions. Compression performance is precisely estimated for well-known probability distributions using these codes and using previously known prefix codes. Note on Ward-Horadam H(x) - binomials' recurrences and related interpretations, II

We deliver here second new $\textit{H(x)}-binomials'$ recurrence formula, were $H(x)-binomials'$ array is appointed by $Ward-Horadam$ sequence of functions which in predominantly considered cases where chosen to be polynomials . Secondly, we supply a review of selected related combinatorial interpretations of generalized binomial coefficients. We then propose also a kind of transfer of interpretation of $p,q-binomial$ coefficients onto $q-binomial$ coefficients interpretations thus bringing us back to $Gy{\"{o}}rgy P\'olya$ and Donald Ervin Knuth relevant investigation decades ago.Comment: 57 pages, 8 figure
