AbstractWriting is an activity to move spoken language into written form by using writing symbols. Writing is a person’s ability, skill and expertise in conveying his ideas into a discourse. Students are asked to write explanatory text essays in this study. There are 3 problems studied in this research, namely, the content of the explanatory text, the structure of the explanatory text, and the language of the explanatory text. This study aims to describe the contents of the explanatory text, the structure of the explanatory text, and the language of the explanatory text in class VIII students of Mathlaul Anwar Sungai Pinyuh Middle School in the Emergency Period of the Corona Virus. This research method is descriptive. The form of research used is qualitative. The data sources of this study were Indonesian language teachers and eighth grade students of SMP Islam Mathlaul Anwar Sungai Pinyuh. PENGARUH PENDEKATAN HIGH ORDER THINKING SKILL (HOTS) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS TEKS EKSPLANASI
Writing is a language skill in expressing main ideas or ideas in writing. Writing skills are not easy to do in learning, this is related to the level of writing at the highest level position. Learning must be done by choosing an approach that can promote students' critical thinking skills. The explanatory text is a text that can express students' ideas in writing about phenomena. Therefore, this study was conducted on the background of how the learning process of writing explanatory text with an approach that can provide a stimulus for critical thinking. The purpose of this study was to determine the explanatory text writing skills influenced by the HOTS approach. The research method used in this study was descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were 26 students of class VIII-B of SMPN 2 Margaasih. The results showed that 16 students got high scores, 7 students got adequate scores and 3 students got low scores. The results of the study concluded that the use of HOTS-based approaches in class VIII-B students could improve their explanatory text writing skills.Ă‚
PEMBELAJARAN MENULIS TEKS EKSPLANASI MENGGUNAKAN METODE DISCOVERY LEARNING
Abstract The background of this research is the lack of students' interest in writing activities, especially writing explanatory texts. Writing is an activity to express ideas and ideas through writing media. These problems can occur due to several things, for example teacher and student factors who have an important role in the achievement of learning. Therefore, researchers try to provide solutions to these problems so that students' interest in writing explanatory text can increase. This study aims to describe: (1) the use of discovery learning method in class VIII students in learning to write explanatory text. (2) the results of the analysis of the students' ability in writing explanatory text using discovery learning methods. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The subjects in this study were 29 students of class VIII. The results of this study indicate that the use of discovery learning method in learning to write explanatory text is carried out in accordance with the planned steps. In addition, the students' ability to write explanatory texts in grade VIII was quite good and the final average score obtained was 77.9
The effectiveness of the Think Pair Share (TPS) method on explanatory text writing skills in terms of learning styles
This study aims to review the effectiveness of the think pair share method on explanatory text writing skills in terms of learning styles. This type of research is quantitative with the 2x2 factorial experimental method. The population in this study were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kinali. Research data was collected using a questionnaire and performance test. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that (1) the explanatory text writing skills of students who study using the think pair share method are higher than students who study using conventional methods, (2) the explanatory text writing skills of students who have high learning styles who study with the think pair share method are higher than students who learn by conventional methods, (3) the explanatory text writing skills of students who have low learning styles who study with the think pair share method are higher than students who learn by conventional methods, and (4) there is an interaction between the think pair share method and learning styles in influencing the skills of writing explanatory texts
IMPLEMENTASI METODE BRAINSTORMING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS TEKS EKSPLANASI SISWA SMA
This research is based on the difficulty of writing students through the results of evaluations conducted by the teacher. The problem examined is how is the implementation of the brainstorming method in writing explanatory text? Is the brainstorming method able to improve the results of explanatory text writing? The study was made to find out how the implementation of the brainstorming method in writing explanatory text and to determine the increase in the results of explanatory text writing by the brainstorming method. The researcher used the pre-experimental design method through the one-group-pretest-posttest approach. The research data collection technique was taken from the results of the pretest question sheet and the posttest question sheet that had been done by the students. The sample taken by researchers in class XI was 23 students. the results of the pretest study were 50.00 after the treatment was carried out by applying the brainstorming method, the posttest results increased to 73.33, there was a difference in numbers of 23.33. the increase in the results proved that the implementation of the brainstorming method was very effective in improving explanation text writing skills for high school students
PEMBELAJARAN MENULIS TEKS EKSPLANASI DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE MIND MAPPING
This research was conducted to study the learning of explanatory text writing that raises various problems including, students difficulties in expressing ideas through written language, students' difficulties in starting the writing process and students difficulties in developing the right words. This research was conducted on eighth grade students of Darul Hikmah Parongpong Middle School. This study aims to describe the learning of writing explanatory texts using mind mapping methods, fostering students curiosity in writing especially in writing explanatory texts, and to overcome students difficulties in pouring ideas into thinking in writing explanatory texts. This research method uses descriptive qualitative which aims to describe naturally and systematically from the results of writing explanatory texts, as well as using data collection techniques with writing skills tests. The results of the study during the learning activities carried out on the explanatory text writing test using the mind mapping method obtained results with an average value of 19.40, with a percentage of 84.43% with good criteria. Thus learning to write explanatory texts using the mind mapping method can be said to be successful by obtaining a percentage above average
Pengaruh Minat Baca terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksplanasi Siswa SMA Negeri 1 Lembah Melintang
This study aims to study whether there was interest interested in learning explanatory text writing students. This type of research is quantitative with a 2x2 factorial design. Students are grouped into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class in this study was in class XI IPA 1, while the control class was in XI IPA 3. The instruments used to collect data were reading interest questionnaires and performance tests for explanatory text writing skills. The results of this study are the following two things. First, explanatory text writing skills of students who have high reading interest in the experimental class are better than students who have high reading interest in the control class. Second, explanatory text writing skills of students who have low reading interest in the experimental class are better than students who have low reading interest in the control class
MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS TEKS EKSPLANASI SISWA KELAS VI MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DISCOVERY LEARNING
The aim of this research is to overcome the following problems: First, before using the Discovery Learning model, describe the level of explanatory text writing skills of class VI students at SD Negeri Temon. Second, to describe the level of explanatory text writing skills of class VI students at SD Negeri Temon after using the Discovery Learning model. Third, analyze the impact of using the Discovery Learning model on the level of explanatory text writing skills of class VI students at SD Negeri Temon. This research uses quantitative research using experimental methods. The design of this research is one group pretest and posttest design. There are three conclusions that can be drawn from the research results: First, before using the Discovery Learning model, the ability to write explanatory text for class VI students at SD Negeri Temon was at more than sufficient qualifications (LdC) with an average of 68,55. Second, the skills in writing explanatory texts after using the Discovery Learning model for class VI students at SD Negeri Temon are in good qualifications (B) with an average of 79,92
