    Transforming Worship

Excerpt: Transforming worship is both impressive and expressive. As we receive God\u27s love for us and return our love for God, we find ourselves changed, transformed, renewed from the inside out. New insights help us live in the newness of life. Greater sensitivities emerge as we come to view those around us through the eyes of Jesus. We receive power to overcome life\u27s obstacles and temptations. All things indeed become new, and creation even takes on another smell

    Transforming magnets

Based on the form-invariant of Maxwell's equations under coordinate transformations, we extend the theory of transformation optics to transformation magneto-statics, which can design magnets through coordinate transformations. Some novel DC magnetic field illusions created by magnets (e.g. shirking magnets, cancelling magnets and overlapping magnets) are designed and verified by numerical simulations. Our research will open a new door to designing magnets and controlling DC magnetic fields

    Transforming acyclic programs

An unfold/fold transformation system is a source-to-source rewriting methodology devised to improve the efficiency of a program. Any such transformation should preserve the main properties of the initial program: among them, termination. In the field of logic programming, the class of acyclic programs plays an important role in this respect, since it is closely related to the one of terminating programs. The two classes coincide when negation is not allowed in the bodies of the clauses. We prove that the Unfold/Fold transformation system defined by Tamaki and Sato preserves the acyclicity of the initial program. From this result, it follows that when the transformation is applied to an acyclic program, then the finite failure set for definite programs is preserved; in the case of normal programs, all major declarative and operational semantics are preserved as well. These results cannot be extended to the class of left-terminating programs without modifying the definition of the transformation

Effect on the canine Eck fistula liver of intraportal TGF‐ÎČ alone or with hepatic growth factors

Transforming growth factor‐ÎČ canceled the hepatocyte proliferation caused by transforming growth factor‐α when the two substances were mixed and administered through a disconnected central portal vein branch after creation of an Eck fistula. In contrast, transforming growth factor‐ÎČ had no antidotal action on the stimulatory effects of insulin or full test doses of insulinlike factor‐2, hepatocyte growth factor, epidermal growth factor or triiodothymanine. A minor antidotal effect on hepatic stimulatory substance activity could be detected, but only with hepatic stimulatory substance was given in doses smaller than those known to cause maximum stimulatory response. These results suggest a highly specific pharmacological and physiological interaction between transforming growth factor‐α and transforming growth factor‐α in the modulation of liver growth control.
