Future Hadron Physics at Fermilab
Today, hadron physics research occurs at Fermilab as parts of broader
experimental programs. This is very likely to be the case in the future. Thus,
much of this presentation focuses on our vision of that future - a future aimed
at making Fermilab the host laboratory for the International Linear Collider
(ILC). Given the uncertainties associated with the ILC - the level of needed
R&D, the ILC costs, and the timing - Fermilab is also preparing for other
program choices. I will describe these latter efforts, efforts focused on a
Proton Driver to increase the numbers of protons available for experiments. As
examples of the hadron physics which will be coming from Fermilab, I summarize
three experiments: MIPP/E907 which is running currently, and MINER A and
Drell-Yan/E906 which are scheduled for future running periods. Hadron physics
coming from the Tevatron Collider program will be summarized by Arthur Maciel
in another talk at Hadron05.Comment: To be published in the Proceedings of the XI International Conference

Immigrants in Health Care: Keeping Americans Healthy Through Care and Innovation
Immigrants play an outsized and imperative role in the U.S. health care industry. Combining existing data and profiles of immigrants across the health care spectrum, Immigrants in Health Care: Keeping Americans Healthy Through Care and Innovation, published by The Immigrant Learning Center, Inc. (ILC) and the Institute for Immigration Research, a joint venture between George Mason University and The ILC, outlines the impact of the foreign-born in health care as a whole and particularly in three subfields: medicine and medical science, long-term care and nursing. Comprising only 13% of the general population, immigrants are 22% of nursing, psychiatric and home health aides, 28% of physicians and surgeons and 40% of medical scientists in manufacturing research and development. Foreign-born health care workers are critical in meeting the demands of the current health care market, which includes shortages of physicians in rural and inner-city areas, a need for cutting-edge medical technology and an aging and longer-lived population rapidly diversifying in race and ethnicity. Given the necessary innovation and cultural and linguistic skills immigrants bring to health care, the authors recommend creating provisional visas for home care workers, supporting the Professional Access to Health Workforce Integration Act, and investing in and further developing workforce development programs that support and help integrate immigrant health care professionals. International survey on invasive lobular breast cancer identifies priority research questions
There is growing awareness of the unique etiology, biology, and clinical presentation of invasive lobular breast cancer (ILC), but additional research is needed to ensure translation of findings into management and treatment guidelines. We conducted a survey with input from breast cancer physicians, laboratory-based researchers, and patients to analyze the current understanding of ILC, and identify consensus research questions. 1774 participants from 66 countries respondents self-identified as clinicians (N = 413), researchers (N = 376), and breast cancer patients and advocates (N = 1120), with some belonging to more than one category. The majority of physicians reported being very/extremely (41%) to moderately (42%) confident in describing the differences between ILC and invasive breast cancer of no special type (NST). Knowledge of histology was seen as important (73%) and as affecting treatment decisions (51%), and most agreed that refining treatment guidelines would be valuable (76%). 85% of clinicians have never powered a clinical trial to allow subset analysis for histological subtypes, but the majority would consider it, and would participate in an ILC clinical trials consortium. The majority of laboratory researchers, reported being and very/extremely (48%) to moderately (29%) confident in describing differences between ILC and NST. They reported that ILCs are inadequately presented in large genomic data sets, and that ILC models are insufficient. The majority have adequate access to tissue or blood from patients with ILC. The majority of patients and advocates (52%) thought that their health care providers did not sufficiently explain the unique features of ILC. They identified improvement of ILC screening/early detection, and identification of better imaging tools as top research priorities. In contrast, both researchers and clinicians identified understanding of endocrine resistance and identifying novel drugs that can be tested in clinical trials as top research priority. In summary, we have gathered information from an international community of physicians, researchers, and patients/advocates that we expect will lay the foundation for a community-informed collaborative research agenda, with the goal of improving management and personalizing treatment for patients with ILC

The data source in this research is the speeches of the program host of Indonesia Lawyer Club (ILC). Technique done in this research is technique note. Data collection was done by listening to the speech on the discourse of the host on the Indonesia Lawyer Club (ILC) program. This method is followed by recording technique. Data analysis techniques to be used by researchers using the method of matching. The results of this study are (1) The form of a joke discussion session in Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC) there are four kinds. (a) Acting assertiveness assertiveness, (b) speech acts in a juxtaposition, (c) declarative jokes, and (d) expressive speech acts. (2) The meaning of the follow-up discussion session at the Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC) is ten kinds. (a) To report, (b) to declare, (c) to demand, (d) to request, (e) to advise, (f) to defend himself, (g) to express an opinion, (h) to boast; (i) to predict; ) and ruled. (3) The strategy of acts of speech as a discourse to cover the discussion session at Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC) there are two kinds. (a) Direct speech acting strategy, and (b) indirect action strategy
Monte Carlo based studies of a polarized positron source for International Linear Collider (ILC)
The full exploitation of the physics potential of an International Linear
Collider (ILC) requires the development of a polarized positron beam. New
concepts of polarized positron sources are based on the development of
circularly polarized photon sources. The polarized photons create
electron-positron pairs in a thin target and transfer their polarization state
to the outgoing leptons. To achieve a high level of positron polarization the
understanding of the production mechanisms in the target is crucial. Therefore
a general framework for the simulation of polarized processes with GEANT4 is
under development. In this contribution the current status of the project and
its application to a study of the positron production process for the ILC is
presented.Comment: 5 pages, to appear in the proceedings of 10th International Workshop

LEGAL PROTECTION OF INDIGENOUS LAW COMMUNITIES OVER CUSTOMARY FORESTS IN KERINCI REGENCY
The rights of the Indigenous Communities to natural resources, land, and forests have not been explicitly regulated in a single legislative act, yet the control of the Indigenous Law Communities (abbreviated as ILC) over customary forests is established. The customary forests in Kerinci Regency have been officially designated as customary forests based on the Minister of Environment and Forestry Decree, which the local ILC manages based on the Decree of the Regent of Kerinci. The control of customary forests requires recognizing and confirming the ILC through Regional Regulations based on Law No. 41 of 1999 on Forestry. The sustainability of the ILC, as the rightful holders of customary forest rights, can be threatened if not recognized by the Regional Government. The research method employed is empirical juridical. The research findings indicate that the customary forests in Kerinci Regency have been designated as customary forest areas or proprietary forests as stipulated in the Minister of Environment and Forestry's Decree, with the recognition of each ILC right holder's existence based on the Decree of the Regent of Kerinci. Although the Regent's Decree does not adequately explain the status, structure, and customary institutions managing the customary forests, it implicitly acknowledges the existence of the ILC entitled to them. As a region with the most significant number of customary forests in Jambi Province, it is expected that the Kerinci Regency Government can draft regulations concerning the ILC.The rights of the Indigenous Communities to natural resources, land, and forests have not been explicitly regulated in a single legislative act, yet the control of the Indigenous Law Communities (abbreviated as ILC) over customary forests is established.
