User acceptance of open enterprise solution: the OSS-ERP case
Organizations implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems with the objective of reaching
operational efficiency and the incorporation to new markets through the information flow control on time of the
entire organization. However, ERP systems are complex tools, mainly for the small and medium size enterprises
(SMEs). For these reason, new ERP configurations have arisen for SMEs such as Open Source Software-ERP
(OSS-ERP). OSS-ERP is a research topic barely analyzed by the literature. Specifically, this paperâs aim is to
focus on the OSS-ERP usersâ acceptance and use. The authors have developed a research model based on the

Efficient path sampling on multiple reaction channels
Due to the time scale problem, rare events are not accessible by straight
forward molecular dynamics. The presence of multiple reaction channels
complicates the problem even further. The feasibility of the standard free
energy based methods relies strongly on the success in finding a proper
reaction coordinate. This can be very difficult task in high-dimensional
complex systems and even more if several distinct reaction channels exist.
Moreover, even if a proper reaction coordinate can be found, ergodic sampling
will be a challenge. In this article, we discuss the recent advancements of
path sampling methods to tackle this problem. We argue why the path sampling
methods, via the transition interface sampling technique, is less sensitive to
the choice of reaction coordinate. Moreover, we review a new algorithm,
parallel path swapping, that can dramatically improve the ergodic sampling of

Adoption of standard ERP solution in health care sector: is SAP ERP all-in-one capable to meet specific requirements?
Objective of this experience report is to address specific issues regarding standard SAP ERP implementation in a medical institution. Target Company is a state owned health care institution from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Report will treat selected issues which could trouble standard SAP ERP implementation trough predefined ERP implementation methodology for SAP ERP. This report presents observations/ remarks based on experience of authors in particular SAP ERP implementation project in health care institution. Authorâs goal is to provide useful insight into âreal lifeâ standard ERP implementation and problems that arise. Also, it should provide useful information for all stakeholders involved in the process of ERP implementation in public health care sector
ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks: a literature review
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation is a complex and vibrant process, one that involves a combination of technological and organizational interactions. Often an ERP implementation project is the single largest IT project that an organization has ever launched and requires a mutual fit of system and organization. Also the concept of an ERP implementation supporting business processes across many different departments is not a generic, rigid and uniform concept and depends on variety of factors. As a result, the issues addressing the ERP implementation process have been one of the major concerns in industry. Therefore ERP implementation receives attention from practitioners and scholars and both, business as well as academic literature is abundant and not always very conclusive or coherent. However, research on ERP systems so far has been mainly focused on diffusion, use and impact issues. Less attention has been given to the methods used during the configuration and the implementation of ERP systems, even though they are commonly used in practice, they still remain largely unexplored and undocumented in Information Systems research. So, the academic relevance of this research is the contribution to the existing body of scientific knowledge. An annotated brief literature review is done in order to evaluate the current state of the existing academic literature. The purpose is to present a systematic overview of relevant ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks as a desire for achieving a better taxonomy of ERP implementation methodologies. This paper is useful to researchers who are interested in ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks. Results will serve as an input for a classification of the existing ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks. Also, this paper aims also at the professional ERP community involved in the process of ERP implementation by promoting a better understanding of ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks, its variety and history
Interpreting an ERP implementation from a stakeholder perspective
ERP systems are software packages that enable the integration of transactions oriented data and business processes throughout an organization. ERP implementation can be viewed as an organizational change process: many problems related to ERP implementation are related to a misfit of the system with the characteristics of the
organization. This article uses the evidence of a case study to uncover some important dimensions of the organizational change issues related to ERP implementation. The study shows how ERP implementation can impact the interests of stakeholders of the ERP-system and how these groups may react by influencing the course of events, for example by altering the design and implementation in ways that are more consistent with their
interests. Understanding the possible impact of ERP on particular interests of stakeholders may help project managers and others to manage ERP implementations more effectively.
Preliminary Results in a Multi-site Empirical Study on Cross-organizational ERP Size and Effort Estimation
This paper reports on initial findings in an empirical study carried out with representatives of two ERP vendors, six ERP adopting organizations, four ERP implementation consulting companies, and two ERP research and advisory services firms. Our studyâs goal was to gain understanding of the state-of-the practice in size and effort estimation of cross-organizational ERP projects. Based on key size and effort estimation challenges identified in a previously published literature survey, we explored some difficulties, fallacies and pitfalls these organizations face. We focused on collecting empirical evidence from the participating ERP market players to assess specific facts about the state-of-the-art ERP size and effort estimation practices. Critical Factors and Multisite Implementation of ERP: A Case Study in the UAE
Despite extensive studies in the ERP literature, little empirical understanding has been reached in relation to ERP implementation experiences in developing markets, particularly in the UAE context. Derived from the notions of critical successful factors and multisite implementation,
two of widely researched areas in ERP studies, this paper thus seeks to provide practical insights about organizationsâ ERP implementation experiences in the UAE setting. More specifically, it describes and contrasts critical factors and multisite implementation experiences
in two case organizations situated in the UAE. These case organizations, one being categorized as a global company and the other local, provide interesting comparison of ERP implementation because of their complementary organizational structure and business strategies. In contrast to traditional ERP frameworksâ suggestions, these case organizationsâ experiences reveal that contemporary ERP implementations might be more complex than previously expected since none of these case organizationsâ ERP experiences follows suggestions made by frameworks

Enterprise resource planning in construction: An evaluation of recent implementations
In a large number of construction firms, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have replaced non-integrated information systems by integrated and maintainable software. The implementation of ERP systems in the construction industry is a difficult task. So far, ERP implementations have yielded more failures than successes in this industry. Our study tries to understand the underlying factors that cause success or failure of ERP in construction by analysing how ERP fits into the IT and business strategy of a firm. Empirical research was conducted by a multiple case study of three ERP-implementations in different business environments. Based on the results of this study, propositions are developed that relate factors for the success of ERP in construction to concepts of the existing literature on IT and strategy. The fundamental challenge: human and organisational factors in an ERP implementation
Organisations encounter obstacles when implementing ERP systems. This paper intends to explore some of the problems that occur throughout the implementation of an ERP system. Using a combination of the work of Markus et al (2001) and Kim et al (2005), a framework is constructed of Human and Organisational and Technical problems in ERP Implementations during the project phase. Drawing on empirical evidences from a UK furniture manufacturer, this study then discusses and analyses each problem identified in the framework and its affect on the implementation of their ERP system. The findings of this paper reveal that the fundamental challenge of ERP implementation is not technology but organisational and human problems, which, if not properly comprehended and addressed, can lead to ERP failure. Understanding that organisational and human issues are extremely important will encourage practitioners to address these problems and succeed in their ERP system implementations
