From Swampland to Phenomenology and Back
Swampland conjectures are a set of proposed necessary conditions for a
low-energy effective field theory to have a UV completion inside a theory of
quantum gravity. Swampland conjectures have interesting phenomenological
consequences, and conversely phenomenological considerations are useful
guidelines in sharping our understanding of quantum gravity.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, contribution to the 2019 EW session of the 54th

Remarks on the method of modulus of continuity and the modified dissipative porous media equation
We employ Besov space techniques and the method of modulus of continuity to
obtain the global well-posedness of the modified Porous Media Equation.Comment: This is the final version, accepted by JD
Data-driven Estimation of SM Backgrounds for SUSY Searches at the LHC
Searches for supersymmetry (SUSY) are very important tasks at the Large
Hadron colleder(LHC). If SUSY exists at the TeV scale, clear excess above the
Standard Model (SM) background will be observed. SM background should be
estimated from real data self. In this paper, we descrive the strategy for the
early SUSY searches at the LHC and focus on the data-driven estimation of the
SM background in the early stage of collision.Comment: 4 pages,6 figures, and proceedings of Moriond QCD 200
