Prospects of Detecting Massive Charged Higgs from Hadronic Decay H -> tb in CMS
The possibility to detect the massive charged Higgs boson H using the
hadronic decay channel H -> tb in the associated production pp -> tH + X in the
CMS experiment at LHC is studied. There is a large background from ttbb events
which makes the observation difficult. Detection of a Higgs signal in this
channel requires an excellent b-tagging performance. Good calorimeter mass
resolution is also necessary for the full event reconstruction.Comment: 13 pages, 18 figure
The yoga of commutators
In the present paper we discuss some recent versions of localisation methods
for calculations in the groups of points of algebraic-like and classical-like
groups. Namely, we describe relative localisation, universal localisation, and
enhanced versions of localisation-completion. Apart from the general strategic
description of these methods, we state some typical technical results of the
conjugation calculus and the commutator calculus. Also, we state several recent
results obtained therewith, such as relative standard commutator formulae,
bounded width of commutators, with respect to the elementary generators, and
nilpotent filtrations of congruence subgroups. Overall, this shows that
localisation methods can be much more efficient, than expected
Renormalized theory of the ion cyclotron turbulence in magnetic field--aligned plasma shear flow
The analytical treatment of nonlinear evolution of the shear-flow-modified
current driven ion cyclotron instability and shear-flow-driven ion cyclotron
kinetic instabilities of magnetic field--aligned plasma shear flow is
presented. Analysis is performed on the base of the nonlinear dispersion
equation, which accounts for a new combined effect of plasma turbulence and
shear flow. It consists in turbulent scattering of ions across the shear flow
with their convection by shear flow and results in enhanced nonlinear
broadening of ion cyclotron resonances. This effect is found to lead to the
saturation of ion cyclotron instabilities as well as to the development of
nonlinear shear flow driven ion cyclotron instability. 52.35.RaComment: 21 page
Evaluation of the current state of aquatic ecosystems and the problems of the protection of biological resources during development of kruzenshternskoye gcf
The results of studies of the current state of freshwater ecosystems and their biotic components in the western part of the Yamal Peninsula are presented in the article. Based on the evaluation of the structure of communities of phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthos, and whitefishes, the range of problems related to the protection of biological resources during the development of the Kruzenshternskoye gas field is defined. The data on species composition and quantitative indicators of hydrobionts of different types of waterbodies and watercourses in the lower reaches of the Mordyyakha and Naduyyakha Rivers basins is the basis for environmental monitoring of water objects during development and exploitation of the Kruzenshternskoye gas field. Estimation of the fish fauna state and their food base in the territory of the Kruzenshternskoye GCF according to the monitoring program is present. The river delta zones are the most important feeding areas of the salmonid and whitefishes valuable fish species in the territory of Kruzenshternskoye GCF. In cases where water bodies and watercourses are not completely demolished for the construction of GCF facilities, changes of quantitative and qualitative characteristics of communities of hydrobionts after the end of operations are reversible. River ecosystems are restored within a shorter period of time in comparison to lacustrine ones. Proposals for the protection of fisheries resources and monitoring of aquatic ecosystems on the basis of comprehensive studies are reported. Recommendations on reducing the anthropogenic impact on aquatic ecosystems in the development period are present. The results of the investigation were used in the development of the environmental protection part of the Kruzenshternskoye deposit project. Anthropogenic disturbances present now on the gas deposit territory of Kruzenshternskoye does not influence the aquatic ecosystems. The article have been prepared within the Project of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences № 12-P-47-2013 and "The Arctic" Project of the Presidium of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences № 12-4-3-012
Renormalized non-modal theory of the kinetic drift instability of plasma shear flows
The linear and renormalized nonlinear kinetic theory of drift instability of
plasma shear flow across the magnetic field, which has the Kelvin's method of
shearing modes or so-called non-modal approach as its foundation, is developed.
The developed theory proves that the time-dependent effect of the finite ion
Larmor radius is the key effect, which is responsible for the suppression of
drift turbulence in an inhomogeneous electric field. This effect leads to the
non-modal decrease of the frequency and growth rate of the unstable drift
perturbations with time. We find that turbulent scattering of the ion gyrophase
is the dominant effect, which determines extremely rapid suppression of drift
turbulence in shear flow
