    This study aims to analyse the financial health and business processes of selected organisations. It entails figuring out how stable, marketable, profitable, and liquid the business is. This study closely examines three companies operating in the Malaysian F&B industry. By investigating Bursa Malaysia issued the company's annual report for the financial condition in 2019 before the COVID outbreak. The five financial ratios calculated for each organisation in this study are the liquidity, efficiency, debt, profitability, and marketability ratios. Comparing these ratios is to establish which company is more competitive and effective. The results of this study of company performance based on financial ratios not only evaluate the debt ratio but also measure the efficiency with which a company employs its assets and resources, evaluate the company's ability to generate revenue to sales, and finally evaluate the stock price

    Hospital Outcomes in Patients Hospitalized for COVID-19 Pneumonia: The Effect of SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination and Vitamin D Status

    SARS-CoV-2 vaccination promises to improve outcomes for patients with COVID-19 pneumonia (most notably those with advanced age and at high risk for severe disease). Here, we examine serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) status and outcomes in both old (\u3e70 years) and young vaccinated (n = 80) and unvaccinated (n = 91) subjects, who were hospitalized due to COVID- 19 pneumonia in a single center (Connolly Hospital Dublin). Outcomes included ICU admission and mortality. Serum 25(OH)D levels were categorized as D30 (/L), D40 (30–49.99 nmol/L) and D50 (50 nmol/L). In multivariate analyses, D30 was independently associated with ICU admission (OR: 6.87 (95% CI: 1.13–41.85) (p = 0.036)) and mortality (OR: 24.81 (95% CI: 1.57–392.1) (p = 0.023)) in unvaccinated patients, even after adjustment for major confounders including age, sex, obesity and pre-existing diabetes mellitus. While mortality was consistently higher in all categories of patients over 70 years of age, the highest observed mortality rate of 50%, seen in patients over 70 years with a low vitamin D state (D30), appeared to be almost completely corrected by either vaccination, or having a higher vitamin D state, i.e., mortality was 14% for vaccinated patients over 70 years with D30 and 16% for unvaccinated patients over 70 years with a 25(OH)D level greater than 30 nmol/L. We observe that high mortality from COVID-19 pneumonia occurs in older patients, especially those who are unvaccinated or have a low vitamin D state. Recent vaccination or having a high vitamin D status are both associated with reduced mortality, although these effects do not fully mitigate the mortality risk associated with advanced age

    I took a Neuroscience class called Superheroes, Zombies, Cyborgs & Droids where I designed an original superhero character and explained the character’s abilities using neuroscience principles. I designed a superhero named PowerWoman and I wrote her story describing every ability in detail. Her real name is Dr. Serena Smith. She was once a brilliant neuroscientist who was driven by her passion to understand the mysteries of the human brain. Serena dedicated most of her time in a hidden laboratory in the basement of her house and researching information on how the brain functions and to understand the theories of a human brain connected to life. One night an experiment went awry, and as a result she gained superpowers. Her abilities include telepathic reach, enhanced neurosensory perceptions, and cognitive ability to manipulate the neural pathways of others. I created my superhero as a woman because our fictional entertainment media lacks female representation. This project was a new experience for me. It allowed me to explore my creativity and thoughts. This course taught me neuroscience concepts related to nervous system structure and function. It impacted me as a student by allowing me to combine neuroscience hypotheses to explain fictional character’s powers and behaviors. This course was a meaningful experience that expanded my knowledge. It is a wonderful opportunity for other students to take this course in the future to showcase how creativity, innovation, and science are interconnected

    The effect of an overweight backpack towards comfortability and L5S1 among primary school student

    The issue of overweight pupils’ school bag has been a subject of vast of discussion by the parents which may associate to back pain. This paper presents the effect of the weight of the backpack towards the lumbosacral joint (L5/S1) and conformability among primary student. A total of 10 respondents from the primary school students were involved in this study. Questionnaires of psychophysical experience with eight areas of body surveys were distributed as to obtain the comfortable feedback. The participants were required to perform three activities; standing without load; standing and climbing with load. The pupils are required to carry a backpack in symmetrical manner. These three activities will be recorded by using a digital camera. Due to safety measure during COVID-19 pandemic, the ImageJ Software was used to measure the joint angles and gait parameters. Based on the data measured by the software, a static and dynamic analysis were applied to calculate the torque and force for the trunk muscle, compressive and a shear force acting on the lumbosacral joint. Based on the result, It was found the student to carry 17% of their body weight, which is beyond of the 10-15% recommendation threshold. The survey shows, 40% of the students feel very uncomfortable especially at their low back, shoulder, head, and neck area due to heavy backpack. It shows the compression force on L4L5 during climbing slightly exceed the recommendation limit by NIOSH, while the others within the acceptable level. The related stakeholder should provide solutions, which conducive in order to prevent and control the occurrence of low back pain among primary student
