Development of an algorithm for choosing the specialization of the left-turn lane in the zone of a controlled intersection

    No full text
The article is devoted to the methods of organization of left-turn traffic in the area of regulated intersections. As a result of the study of the world experience of arrangement of left-turn traffic at controlled intersections, the authors found that today there is no reasonable approach to the specialization of the strip, based on the study of the main characteristics of the traffic flow. The authors have developed an algorithm based on previously unused characteristics, which allows, depending on the ratio of the intensity of the conflict “direct conflicting and left-turn flow” to determine the necessary way of organizing the movement. As a result of testing the developed algorithm, the efficiency of developed algorithm of choice of specialization to allow left-turn lanes in the area controlled intersection.</jats:p

New approach to the organization of entrances to cities using ITS

    No full text
The article analyses the use of intelligent transport systems, as a result of the study, the authors found that in large cities today, intelligent entries are not used much, which reduces the load on the entry areas. The authors propose an algorithm for organizing entry on the example of Voronezh and propose a method for passing vehicles on the main and secondary roads, as a result of which the efficiency of organizing traffic to large cities is obtained.</jats:p

SIMULATION OF THE TRAFFIC PROCESS ON THE MAIN STREET OF VORONEZH IN THE ANY LOGIC SOFTWARE ENVIRONMENT

    No full text
When carrying out any activities related to the organization of traffic, aimed primarily at improving the efficiency of the road network, it is very important to evaluate the measures taken or being taken at the design stage. In such cases, specialists quite often have to use various kinds of simulation products, especially often their use occurs when evaluating methods or modes of traffic control. Despite the large number of simulation products that exist today, the Any Logic simulation package is especially popular. To determine the main blocks used to perform the procedure under consideration and evaluate the effectiveness of the main street of Voronezh - Leninskiy Prospekt, within the framework of the article, a modeling procedure was performed and the effectiveness of the product used was evaluated based on the result of comparing the traffic flow indicator.</jats:p

DEVELOPMENT OF TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT METHODS IN SMALL AND MEDIUM CITIES

    No full text
The article is devoted to the development of traffic flow management methods in urban transport systems of small and medium-sized cities. Certain conditions for managing traffic flows, typical for small and medium-sized cities, require the development of methods used today. In order to improve management efficiency, in particular, the use of coordinated management of main streets, within the framework of this study, the movement process was modeled and the delay time was estimated when the intensity changed at the object of study. The analysis of the obtained results made it possible to establish certain dependencies and identify specialized areas in which it is necessary to change the type of management used.</jats:p

    Traffic simulation: an analytical review

Abstract The constant increase in the number of cars in cities causes transportation problems that make it necessary to optimize the road network so as to satisfy the transport needs of the city. In this regard, modeling and optimal planning of the road network are of great importance. Motion modeling is a widely used method of traffic studies, modeling, planning and development of transport networks and systems. It represents the construction of a working model that reflects the similarity of properties or relations with the real problem under consideration. Modeling allows makes possible to study the complex tasks of traffic not in real conditions, but in the laboratory. In a more general sense, modeling can be defined as a dynamic display of some part of the real world by building a computer model and moving it in time. Simulation models of traffic aimed at modeling real transport operations can be divided into three categories: microscopic, macroscopic and mesoscopic modeling. These methods of modeling traffic flows are designed to solve the most common transport problems. In most cases, models allow determining such parameters as traffic intensity, average speed, delays and time loss. This study is an analysis of existing traffic flow simulations in terms of their functions, limitations, and application by various criteria.</jats:p
