    Developing English Supplementary Materials through Instructional Conversations

    This study aimed to develop English supplementary materials to meet the needs of nursing students on English learning through Instructional Conversation (IC) method. This research was categorized into research and development. The materials were validated by two experts to come to the final product. This research conducted at the Nursing Study Program involving students of the second semester. The data collected from classroom and checklist observation, questionnaire, an interview.  Considering the data collected, the English textbooks available and used in the Nursing Study Program contains English language learning materials that are still common and less specific for students used in the nursing study program.     Quizizz is an online assessment tool as a fun multiplayer classroom activity that allows all students to practice together with their computer, Smartphone and I Pad. The main purpose of this research was to find the effect of implemening quizziz in the discourse classroom of Universitas Majalengka. The population of this research were semester four studens of English department, and the samples were 22 students. This research belongs to pre-experimental research and one group pre and pos test design. It described about a study that cast about the effect of giving treatment of using quizziz in single group only.A pre-experimental research was conducted by comparing the means of the participants’ scores in both pre-test and post-test. The analysis figured out that there was a significant improvement, proven by the paired t-test analysis.The p-value 0.00 was less than alpha 0.05. This research concluded that quizziz was effective to assist the students to learn grammar in written discouse.After implementing quizziz, most of studentsfound that were very active to answer the questions which provided by researches, and more concentrated on the topic. And the results of the questioners shows that the students displayed the position attitude for quizizz as a online teaching and assessment tool during the Grammar in Written Discourse class

    This present study explain the appraisal devices especially the attitude types. Appraisal theory is the development of Systemic Functional Linguistics theory in the realm of interpersonal meaning initiated by Martin and White. This study used qualitative research with discourse analysis (DA) techniques. The object of analysis in this study is narrative text of the English textbooks for senior high school students published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. This study employed a document analysis as a technique for collecting data. The findings showed that there were 65 systems of attitude which consist of 19 positive affect, 25 negative affect, 8 positive judgment, 8 negative judgment, 1 positive appreciation, and 4 negative appreciation

    This literature review examines the impact of gamification in English language teaching (ELT) on motivation, engagement, and learning outcomes. Gamification, the integration of game elements into education, has gained attention as a promising approach to enhance language learning. The findings reveal that gamification positively influences student motivation in ELT. Elements like points, leaderboards, and rewards create a sense of achievement and intrinsic motivation. Engaged students are more likely to persist and participate actively in language learning. Gamification promotes active learning and engagement, with interactive activities involving vocabulary acquisition, grammar practice, and language production. It provides a safe space for students to experiment, apply knowledge, and develop linguistic skills. Collaboration and social interaction are fostered through gamification, encouraging teamwork and peer feedback. This enhances language and interpersonal skills. Immediate feedback and progress tracking in gamification offer valuable learning opportunities. Students receive real-time feedback and monitor their progress, enabling adjustments in learning strategies. However, implementing gamification in ELT faces challenges such as technology constraints and pedagogical considerations. Striking a balance between engagement and curriculum objectives is crucial.     Introduction: The nurses’ role within nursing care of tuberculosis patients in hospitals is  very important. Nurses problem are preparing nursing interventions in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis rarely use the standard Nursing Intervention Classification (NIC). Independent nursing interventions are not in accordance with the diagnoses established by nurses, so the impact on the implementation needed by patients is not in accordance with the problems occured. Collaborative intervention is mostly carried out by nurses compared to independent intervention. Nurses must arrange nursing interventions based on the standard of nursing diagnoses that are enforced. The objective study was to describe the interventions compiled by nurses at the hospital.Methods: Research design was qualitative research with observational approach. Sample was 100 nurse’s documentastions  of  pulmonary tuberculosis patient  in TB MDR ward. Data analysis used language and text analysis with content analysis. Results: The results research was the highest 10 interventions written by nurses is intervention about observe general condition of patient was 83 times, collaboration with  doctor’s therapy was 54 times, give comfort position was 54 times, give therapy was 47 times, check vital signs regulerly was 40 times, give oxigen was 34 times, advise to bedrest was 30 times, teach  to effective cough was 25 times, Give position semi fowler was 15% times, and teach to deep breath was 15 times. Conclusion: Nurses must improve their skills and knowledge in preparing treatment plans, because the interventions that have been prepared have not been optimal for dealing with patient problems in hospitals. Interventions to improve patient knowledge and abilities in the management of the disease are important to give to patients.

    This article discusses character education through hybrid learning based on local wisdom to develop students' potential. The concept of character education today should not only focus on universal normative values, but also need to accommodate local wisdom that exists in the student's social environment. Hybrid learning is a learning approach that combines face-to-face classes with online learning. This learning is the right alternative in the effort to develop students' potential, because it can provide opportunities for students to learn independently, optimize the use of information and communication technology, and can build children's character growth. This research found that hybrid learning based on local wisdom can help students in developing their character, such as self-confidence, work ethic, and creativity. The results of this study are expected to contribute and guide educators to enrich learning methods and integrate local wisdom in character learning

    Many students claim that writing is the most difficult skills due to it is complicated in its production. In their learning, the students need a suitable method to help their writing. Peer feedback is the one of those methods that can support students’ learning writing in non-threatening atmosphere. This research aims to reveal EFL students’ problems in learning writingand students’ perceptions about peer feedback method in learning writing. In this research, the qualitative research design used was a case study through the instrument that are observation and interview for collecting the data. The participant of this research is eleventh grade of electricity engineering in one of vocational school in Majalengka. The result showed that students still faced the common problems in learning writing. The highest percentage of students’ problem is in vocabulary (45%) and the lowest percentage is in create content (5%). However, after implemented the practice of peer feedback, majority of the students provided the positive perceptions toward peer feedback. There is 70% students said that peer feedback helped them in learning writing. Also, they said that peer feedback has a number of benefits for their writing

    The research aims to investigate students’ reading comprehension at the eleventh grade of Senior High School before and after using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) technique, and also to investigate the effectiveness of CIRC technique to improve students’ reading comprehension as well. CIRC technique was chosen as the x variable in the research. The research applied pre-experimental, one group pre-test – post-test design. The population of the research was eleventh grade that consisted of five classes and class XI IPS 3 was chosen as the sample. There were 26 students in this class. The instruments used to collect the data were tests which consist of pre-test and post-test. Pre-test was conducted to investigate students’ reading comprehension before treatments. The result indicated students’ reading comprehension was fair. Meanwhile, post-test was conducted to examine students’ reading comprehension after treatments. Furthermore, it can be concluded that there is significant effect of using CIRC technique. In line with that, it can be concluded that Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) technique is effective to improve students’ reading comprehension
