Supply Chain Management & RFID: an Analysis of Research Productivity

    Get PDF
Radio frequency identification (RFID) Supply chain management (SCM) are an integral part of today's business world. RFID increases productivity and convenience. There are several studies conducted in the past to examine the question of productivity of the authors. However, prior studies have not discussed in detail the research productivity patterns of individual RFID SCM authors together, across a relatively large number of journals and a lengthy time frame. Previous studies have also not established any benchmark of individual research productivity, regarding both the number of publications, i.e. quantity and the impact of those published papers, i.e. quality, required to place among the leading contributors in the field of RFID SCM collectively. The present study examined 631 global publications on "RFID Supply Chain Management" downloaded from Scopus database during 1999-2015. The positioning and associated percentiles of individual authors were calculated and prepared six quality and quantity metrics from equal credit method and direct count method; authors identify the aggregate productivity standards necessary for an individual author to be ranked at various places in the field of RFID SCM together

Comparison and Validation of Optimal Path Lengths in the Presence of Elliptical Forbidden Regions between CGA and V-Rep

This paper presents Comparison and Validation of Optimal path lengths in the presence of Elliptical Forbidden Regions between CGA and V-Rep simulation software. A systematic approach was made for developing results by applying a suitable CGA methodology that meets the solution requirements of routing problems that involve path planning procedures. CGA technique helps in reducing the evaluation time and also directly generates the shortest path for navigation to reach its destination point. The solutions thus obtained by CGA Technique absolutely agreed with the solutions by V-Rep and even produced optimal solutions when compared with V-Rep

Oxidative stress appears to be an early event involved in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. The present study was designed to investigate the neuroprotective effects of Centella asiatica against colchicine-induced memory impairment and oxidative damage in rats. Colchicine (15 μg/5 μL) was administered intracerebroventricularly in the lateral ventricle of male wistar rats. Morris water maze and plus-maze performance tests were used to assess memory performance tasks. Various biochemical parameters such as lipid peroxidation, nitrite, reduced glutathione, glutathione-S-transferase, superoxide dismutase, acetylcholinesterase were also assessed. ICV colchicine resulted marked memory impairment and oxidative damage. Chronic treatment with Centella asiatica extract (150 and 300 mg/kg, p.o.) for a period of 25 days, beginning 4 days prior to colchicine administration, significantly attenuated colchicine-induced memory impairment and oxidative damage. Besides, Centella asiatica significantly reversed colchicines administered increase in acetylcholinesterase activity. Thus, present study indicates protective effect of Centella asiatica against colchicine-induced cognitive impairment and associated oxidative damage

Background: The heel pain is the most common problem worldwide and it was associated with plantar fasciitis (PF). The condition of treatment is very complex. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and injection of corticosteroids is the treatment of PF. This study was designed to access the effect of local PRP and local corticosteroid injection in PF patients. Methods: Sixty patients (between 29 to 60 years of age) with chronic PF were randomized prospectively in single tertiary care center in India. The study conducted from December 2013 to December 2015. All the patients were enrolled according to inclusion criteria and divided into two groups randomized. In group A (n=30) received PRP and group B (n=30) received corticosteroids injections. Visual analog scales (VAS) were filled by all the included patients. The follow-up scheduled at one and six months after complete enrolment of patients. Results: Between both the groups the significantly different observed at one and six months follow-up from the baseline. At one month follow-up significantly improvement in mean VAS score were observed in group B (p<0.001). At six months follow-up significantly improvement in mean VAS score were observed in group A (p<0.001).Conclusions: The present study concluded from the significance difference between both the groups proved promising form of treatment in chronic PF patients. Both the treatment was safe and effective in relieving pain improving function at different time period.
