A Mode-Sum Prescription for Vacuum Polarization in Even Dimensions
We present a mode-sum regularization prescription for computing the vacuum
polarization of a scalar field in static spherically-symmetric black hole
spacetimes in even dimensions. This is the first general and systematic
approach to regularized vacuum polarization in higher even dimensions, building
upon a previous scheme we developed for odd dimensions. Things are more
complicated here since the even-dimensional propagator possesses logarithmic
singularities which must be regularized. However, in spite of this
complication, the regularization parameters can be computed in closed form in
arbitrary even dimensions and for arbitrary metric function . As an
explicit example of our method, we show plots for vacuum polarization of a
massless scalar field in the Schwarzschild-Tangherlini spacetime for even
. However, the method presented applies straightforwardly to
massive fields or to nonvacuum spacetimes.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1609.0816

Manajemen Program Siaran Lokal Aceh TV Dalam Upaya Penyebarluasan Syariat Islam Dan Pelestarian Budaya Lokal
Managing broadcasting management is not easy. Managing the broadcasting business is a difficult and challenging. This research aims to analyze the activity of management and organizational performance ACEH TV television media in an effort to disseminate the Islamic Sharia and Preservation of Local Culture in Aceh. This research is descriptive qualitative. Informants of this research is managing director, program director, executive producer, cameraman / reporter, as well as additional informants Regional Chairman of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) Aceh, Aceh Province Department of Islamic Law, and local media observers. The location of this research is in Banda Aceh, Aceh province. Sampling was done purposively. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed by analysis of an interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results showed that the ACEH TV as the medium of television that is broadcasting management ACEH have done according to a local television broadcasting standard. Agenda setting function of mass media performed in the ACEH TV dissemination of Islamic Shariah in Aceh and local culture to influence the people of Aceh to implement Islamic Sharia and also maintain the culture and local wisdom Aceh. It can be seen from all the programs that are aired ACEH TV is a program of local cultural nuances of Islamic law. There are still some shortcomings in running broadcasting broadcasting technology such as lack of equipment that is increasingly sophisticated. The results of image editing is very simple, and some programs presenter still looks stiff when in front of the camera
Screw Dislocations in Complex, Low Symmetry Oxides: Core Structures, Energetics, and Impact on Crystal Growth
Determining the atomic structure
and the influence of defects on properties of low symmetry oxides
have long been an engineering pursuit. Here, we focus on five thermodynamically
reversible monoclinic and orthorhombic polymorphs of dicalcium silicates
(Ca2SiO3)a key cement constituentas
a model system and use atomistic simulations to unravel the interplay
between the screw dislocation core energies, nonplanar core structures,
and Peierls stresses along different crystallographic planes. Among
different polymorphs, we found that the α polymorphs (α-C2S) has the largest Peierls stress, corresponding to the most
brittle polymorph, which make it attractive for grinding processes.
Interestingly, our analyses indicate that this polymorphs has the
lowest dislocation core energy, making it ideal for reactivity and
crystal growth. Generally, we identified the following order in terms
of grinding efficiency based on screw dislocation analysis, α-C2S > αH-C2S > αL-C2S > β-C2S > γ-C2S, and the following order in term of reactivity, α
-C2S > αL-C2S > γ-C2S > αH-C2S > β-C2S. This information, combined with other deformation-based
mechanisms, such as twinning and edge dislocation, can provide crucial
insights and guiding hypotheses for experimentalists to tune the cement
grinding mechanisms and reactivity processes for an overall optimum
solution with regard to both energy consumption and performance. Our
findings significantly broaden the spectrum of strategies for leveraging
both crystallographic directions and crystal symmetry to concurrently
modulate mechanics and crystal growth processes within an identical
chemical composition

Redesign of glycerol dehydratase from <i>L</i>. <i>reuteri</i>.
<p>A) Overall fold of the glycerol dehydratase monomer and the proposed biological dimer; Stereodrawing of the B) 1,2-PD or C) glycerol bound form of the glycerol dehydratase. Homology modeling for the prediction of tertiary structure of glycerol dehydratase (PduCDE) resulted in a model based on the crystal structure of diol dehydratase-cyanocobalamin complex from <i>Klebsiella oxytoca</i> (1DIO), with sequence similarities and coverages above 42% and 95%, respectively. Quality model assessment of the homology model revealed a QMEAN6-score of 0.83 and a Z-score of -0.53. Ramachandran plot revealed that none of residues were present in the disallowed regions. Color codes for carbon atoms: yellow for adenosylcobalamin (AdoCbl), white for glycerol/1,2-PD, purple for calcium ion. The model figure was generated using Pymol. D) Sequence alignment of large subunit of glycerol dehydratase (PduC) from different bacteria. The numbering scheme follows the amino acid sequences of PduCs. Identical residues in all sequences are highlighted in black and conserved in grey. E) Relative activities of WT/mutant glycerol dehydratases towards different 1,2-diols/glycerol. The data is normalized by taking the activity of the wild-type enzyme towards glycerol as 100%.</p
