Nonlinear robust control of tail-sitter aircrafts in flight mode transitions
© 2018 Elsevier Masson SAS In this paper, a nonlinear robust controller is proposed to deal with the flight mode transition control problem of tail-sitter aircrafts. During the mode transitions, the control problem is challenging due to the high nonlinearities and strong couplings. The tail-sitter aircraft model can be considered as a nominal part with uncertainties including nonlinear terms, parametric uncertainties, and external disturbances. The proposed controller consists of a nominal Hâcontroller and a nonlinear disturbance observer. The nominal Hâcontroller based on the nominal model is designed to achieve the desired trajectory tracking performance. The uncertainties are regarded as equivalent disturbances to restrain their influences by the nonlinear disturbance observer. Theoretical analysis and simulation results are given to show advantages of the proposed control method, compared with the standard Hâcontrol approach

A Replication of Beyond the Turk: Alternative Platforms for Crowdsourcing Behavioral Research â Sometimes Preferable to Student Groups
This study is a replication of one of two studies found in âBeyond the Turk: Alternative platforms for
crowdsourcing behavioral researchâ (Peer, Brandimarte, Samat, & Acquisti, 2017). We conduct an empirical
analysis and comparison between two online crowdsourcing platforms, Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) and Prolific Academic (ProA), as well as to a traditional student group. The online crowdsourcing platform (e.g., MTurk and others) used for years as a launching point for many types of microwork, including
academic research. Today, MTurk has several competitors, including one that was built to focus on research tasks, ProA. Across the four segments, we reinforce the original study by finding both MTurk and ProA to provide inexpensive, reliable, and significantly faster methods of conducting surveys over traditional methods. Our results indicate that ProA provides superior service. By centering on research, ProA results
are similar to MTurkâs. However, ProAâs response and completion rates, diversity, attention, naivety,
reproducibility, and dishonest behavior are better

Enhanced Electrochemical Performance of Three-Dimensional Ni/Si Nanocable Arrays as a Li-Ion Battery Anode by Nitrogen Doping in the Si Shell
In the present study, a configuration
of three-dimensional Ni core/sputtered Si shell nanocable arrays is
proposed to alleviate the severe volumetric change of Si during lithiation/delithiation.
In particular, the effects of N doping in the Si shell on the electrochemical
performance of the nanocable array electrodes have been investigated.
It has been found that reduced interfacial resistance, enhanced effective
Li ion diffusion coefficient in the active material, and more stable
surface passivating layer are likely to be achieved by N doping, leading
to an improvement of the rate performance and cyclability when compared
to the undoped nanocable array counterpart
Modular, Parallel Synthesis of an Illudinoid Combinatorial Library
A library of 49 illudinoids was prepared via a three-step synthesis using a parallel synthesizer and solid-phase extractive purification. Products
could be rapidly prepared for initial biological testing against three cancer cell lines, which revealed library members that inhibit nonsmall cell
lung cancer. The activities of the library members are not easily correlated with structure, meaning the empirical approach used here is
essential for such nonintuitive discoveries
Table_1_Factors influencing secondary school studentsâ reading literacy: An analysis based on XGBoost and SHAP methods.docx
This paper constructs a predictive model of student reading literacy based on data from students who participated in the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA 2018) from four provinces/municipalities of China, i.e., Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. We calculated the contribution of influencing factors in the model by using eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) algorithm and sHapley additive exPlanations (SHAP) values, and get the following findings: (1) Factors that have the greatest impact on studentsâ reading literacy are from individual and family levels, with school-level factors taking a relative back seat. (2) The most important influencing factors at individual level are reading metacognition and reading interest. (3) The most important factors at family level are ESCS (index of economic, social and cultural status) and language environment, and dialect is negative for reading literacy, whereas proficiency in both a dialect and Mandarin plays a positive role. (4) At the school level, the most important factors are time dedicated to learning and class discipline, and we found that there is an optimal value for learning time, which suggests that reasonable learning time is beneficial, but overextended learning time may make academic performance worse instead of improving it.</p
Identification of upstream transcription factors and an interacting PP2C protein of dehydrin WZY2 gene in wheat
As functional proteins dehydrins are found in many maturing seeds and vegetable tissue under adverse environmental conditions. However, the regulation of dehydrin expression remains unclear. To explore regulatory mechanisms of wheat dehydrin WZY2 expression under abiotic stresses, we constructed a cDNA library from PEG- and cold-treated wheat seedlings and performed yeast one-hybrid assay and yeast two-hybrid assay to identify the upstream transcription factors and protein interacting with dehydrin WZY2 gene. Yeast one-hybrid assay illustrated that bHLH49-like (GenBank NO. XM_020296294), zinc finger A20 and AN1 domain-containing stress-associated protein 6-like (GenBank NO. XM_020341647), and bHLH47-like (GenBank NO. XM_020313116) proteins can bind and interact with the promoter of the WZY2, these sequences are Aegilops tauschii transcription factors, the diploid progenitor of the D genome of hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum, genomes AABBDD). Real-time PCR analyzes unraveled the stress responsive expression of XM_020296294, XM_020341647, and XM_020313116 in wheat. XM_020296294 and XM_020341647 showed a similar expression patterns with WZY2. Yeast two-hybrid assay indicated that PP2C (GenBank NO. XM_020293398) protein can interact with WZY2. These results provided evidences that WZY2 could be positively regulated by XM_020296294 and XM_020341647 transcription factors, and WZY2 may also play an important role in the ABA signaling pathway through interaction with PP2C to regulate stress-responsive genes expression in wheat. The obtained results contribute for provide a better understanding of the regulatory mechanism of dehydrin expression under abiotic stresses in wheat.</p
Table_1_Exploring family educational involvement and social skills in Chinese preschoolers: The moderating role of parent-child relationship.DOCX
The purpose of this study was to examine parent-child relationship as a moderator of the association between family educational involvement and the social skills of preschoolers. A total of 4,938 children (M = 5.09-years-old, SD = 0.81) were sampled from 18 preschools in Hebei province, China, and their parents completed a survey packet to collect demographic information, as well as ratings of parental involvement, relationships with their children, and child social skill development. The results of multivariate regression analysis suggested that: (1) both home-based involvement and home-school conferencing could significantly predict preschoolersâ social skills, (2) there was stronger evidence for a relationship of home-based involvement and preschoolersâ social skills, (3) closeness in parent-child relationship moderated the path from home-based involvement to preschoolersâ social skills, and (4) there was no interactive effect between family educational involvement and parent-child conflict. These findings highlight the significance of the joint influences of family educational involvement and parent-child relationship in shaping childrenâs social skills. The impact of home-based involvement was boosted in the context of a close parent-child relationship.</p
