    Robust H∞ filter design for uncertain linear systems over network with network-induced delays and output quantization

    This paper investigates a convex optimization approach to the problem of robust H∞ filtering for uncertain linear systems connected over a common digital communication network. We consider the case where quantizers are static and the parameter uncertainties are norm bounded. Firstly, we propose a new model to investigate the effect of both the output quantization levels and the network conditions. Secondly, by introducing a descriptor technique, using Lyapunov- Krasovskii functional and a suitable change of variables, new required sufficient conditions are established in terms of delay-dependent linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) for the existence of the desired network-based quantized filters with simultaneous consideration of network induced delays and measurement quantization. The explicit expression of the filters is derived to satisfy both asymptotic stability and a prescribed level of disturbance attenuation for all admissible norm bounded uncertainties. © 2009 Norwegian Society of Automatic Control

    Bond graph modeling and simulation of wind turbine systems

    This paper addresses the problem of bond graph methodology as a graphical approach for the modeling of wind turbine generating systems. The purpose of this paper is to show some of the benefits the bond graph approach has, in contributing a model for wind turbine systems. We will present a nonlinear model of a wind turbine generating system, containing blade pitch, drive train, tower motion and generator. All which will be modeled by means of bond graph. We will especially focus on the drive train, and show the difference between modeling with a classical mechanical method and by using bond graph. The model consists of realistic parameters, but we are not trying to validate a specific wind turbine generating system. Simulations are carried out in the bond graph simulation software 20-sim

    A New Adaptive LSSVR with Online Multikernel RBF Tuning to Evaluate Analog Circuit Performance

    Focusing on the analog circuit performance evaluation demand of fast time responding online, a novel evaluation strategy based on adaptive Least Squares Support Vector Regression (LSSVR) which employs multikernel RBF is proposed in this paper. The superiority of the multi-kernel RBF has more flexibility to the kernel function online such as the bandwidths tuning. And then the decision parameters of the kernel parameters determine the input signal to map to the feature space deduced that a well plant model by discarding redundant features. Experiment adopted the typical circuit Sallen-Key low pass filter to prove the proposed evaluation strategy via the eight performance indexes. Simulation results reveal that the testing speed together with the evaluation performance, especially the testing speed of the proposed, is superior to that of the traditional LSSVR and ε-SVR, which is suitable for promotion online

    Integrated design of hybrid interstory-interbuilding multi-actuation schemes for vibration control of adjacent buildings under seismic excitations

    The design of vibration control systems for the seismic protection of closely adjacent buildings is a complex and challenging problem. In this paper, we consider distributed multi-actuation schemes that combine interbuilding linking elements and interstory actuation devices. Using an advanced static output-feedback H∞ approach, active and passive vibration control systems are designed for a multi-story two-building structure equipped with a selected set of linked and unlinked actuation schemes. To validate the effectiveness of the obtained controllers, the corresponding frequency responses are investigated and a proper set of numerical simulations is conducted using the full scale North–South El Centro 1940 seismic record as ground acceleration disturbance. The observed results indicate that using combined interstory-interbuilding multi-actuation schemes is an effective means of mitigating the vibrational response of the individual buildings and, simultaneously, reducing the risk of interbuilding pounding. These results also point out that passive control systems with high-performance characteristics can be designed using damping elements.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version

    Stabilization of positive switched systems with time-varying delays under asynchronous switching

    This paper investigates the state feedback stabilization problem for a class of positive switched systems with time-varying delays under asynchronous switching in the frameworks of continuous-time and discrete-time dynamics. The so-called asynchronous switching means that the switches between the candidate controllers and system modes are asynchronous. By constructing an appropriate co-positive type Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and further allowing the functional to increase during the running time of active subsystems, sufficient conditions are provided to guarantee the exponential stability of the resulting closed-loop systems, and the corresponding controller gain matrices and admissible switching signals are presented. Finally, two illustrative examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed methods

    Stability Analysis and Stabilization of T-S Fuzzy Delta Operator Systems with Time-Varying Delay via an Input-Output Approach

    The stability analysis and stabilization of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy delta operator systems with time-varying delay are investigated via an input-output approach. A model transformation method is employed to approximate the time-varying delay. The original system is transformed into a feedback interconnection form which has a forward subsystem with constant delays and a feedback one with uncertainties. By applying the scaled small gain (SSG) theorem to deal with this new system, and based on a Lyapunov Krasovskii functional (LKF) in delta operator domain, less conservative stability analysis and stabilization conditions are obtained. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the advantages of the proposed method

    Robust Coordinated Control Algorithm for Multiple Marine Vessels with External Disturbances

    The problem of coordinated control for multiple marine vessels in the presence of external disturbances is considered in this paper. A robust coordinated control algorithm is proposed for multiple marine vessels. The proposed robust coordinated control algorithm is divided into two parts. The first part develops an extended state observer to estimate the disturbances of marine vessels. The second part presents a robust coordinated control algorithm based on the output of the extended state observer. Furthermore, the robust coordinated control algorithm is designed using the dynamic surface control method. In light of the leader-follower strategy, the trajectory for each vessel is defined according to the desired trajectory of the assigned leader and the relative distance with respect to the leader. The effectiveness of the proposed coordination algorithm is demonstrated by the simulation results
