Opinn√§ytety√∂ sis√§lt√§√§ kirjallisuuskatsauksen teippauksen k√§yt√∂st√§ alaraajan pehmytkudosvammojen kun-toutumisen tukena sek√§ videomateriaalia yhdest√§toista eri teippaustekniikasta urheilu- tai kinesioteipill√§ toteutettuna. K√§sitellyt vammat ja niihin soveltuvat teippaustekniikat ovat plantaarifaskiitti, nilkan inver-siovamma, akillesj√§nteen tendinopatia sek√§ patellofemoraaliset kiputilat. Kirjallisuuskatsaus sis√§lt√§√§ vammojen etiologian, teippauksen vaikutusmekanismin sek√§ tieteelliset tutkimukset, joissa teippauksen vaikuttavuutta on tutkittu kunkin vamman yhteydess√§. Opinn√§ytety√∂n video-osuus on tarkoitettu ensisijaisesti JAMK:in fysioterapeuttiopiskelijoiden k√§ytt√∂√∂n opintojaksolla ‚ÄĚFysioterapia tuki ‚Äď ja liikuntaelimist√∂n rajoitteissa‚ÄĚ. Yksitt√§isiss√§ tieteellisiss√§ tutkimuksissa teippauksella on ollut vaikuttavuutta jalkater√§n pitkitt√§isen holvikaaren kohottamiseen ja t√§t√§ my√∂t√§ paineen v√§henemiseen jalkater√§n eri segmenteiss√§ sek√§ venytyksen v√§henemiseen kantakalvossa. Lis√§ksi s√§√§ren lihasten aktiivisuuden on havaittu v√§hentyv√§n jalkater√§n teip-pauksen my√∂t√§, ja n√§ill√§ vaikutusmekanismeilla esimerkiksi perustellaan plantaarifaskiitin teippausta. Nilkan inversiovammoissa teippaus on yleinen metodi kuntoutumisen edist√§miseksi. Teippauksella on v√§itetty olevan nilkkanivelen proprioseptiikkaa edist√§vi√§ ominaisuuksia, mutta tutkimustulokset eiv√§t tue t√§t√§ oletusta yksimielisesti. Kroonisesta nilkan instabiliteetista k√§rsiv√§t henkil√∂t kokevat muun muassa tasapainon kohentuneen nilkan teippauksen my√∂t√§. Patellafemoraalisista kivuista k√§rsiv√§t henkil√∂t ovat kokeneet kivun lieventymist√§ useissa tutkimuksissa vaikutettaessa patellan linjaukseen teippauksella. MRI-kuvaukset ovat osoittaneet liev√§√§ patellan orientaation muuttumista. T√§ll√§ pienell√§ muutoksella saattaa olla merkitt√§vi√§ vaikutuksia kivun kokemisen ja toimintakyvyn kohentumisen kannalta. This Bachelor‚Äôs Thesis includes a literature review of using sports taping and kinesio-taping in the rehabilita-tion of the most common soft tissue injuries of the lower leg and also video material of eleven different taping techniques implemented with kinesio-tape and sports tape. The injuries covered in the review and the taping techniques applied to them were plantar fasciitis, ankle inversion injury, achilles tendinopathy and patellofemoral pain. The literature review includes the etiology, the effect mechanisms of taping and research on the efficacy of taping with each injury. The video part of the Bachelor‚Äôs Thesis is primarily meant for the studying purposes of the physiotherapy students of JAMK during the course ‚ÄúPhysiotherapy in Mus-culoskeletal Disabilities.‚ÄĚ In a few single studies taping has had efficacy in raising the longitudinal arch of the foot and therefore de-creasing the pressure in different segments of the foot and decreasing the stretch on the plantar fascia. Additionally, the activity of leg muscles has been found to decrease with taping and with these effect me-chanisms, for example, the taping of plantar fasciitis is rationalized. Taping an ankle inversion injury is a common method for facilitating the healing process. Taping has been claimed to improve the proprioceptive properties of the ankle joint, but research results do not support this hypothesis unanimously. People suffering from chronic ankle instability report, for example, improvements in balance when taped. People suffering from patellofemoral pain have experienced pain relief in many studies when the alignment of the patella has been affected by taping. MRI-images have shown slight alteration in patellar orientation when taped. This slight change might have a significant effect in the experience of pain and in the improve-ment of function.Opinn√§ytety√∂n videoidut teippaustekniikat sijaitsevat Jyv√§skyl√§n ammattikorkeakoulun Moniviestin palvelussa. New insights into the genetic etiology of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias

Characterization of the genetic landscape of Alzheimer‚Äôs disease (AD) and related dementias (ADD) provides a unique opportunity for a better understanding of the associated pathophysiological processes. We performed a two-stage genome-wide association study totaling 111,326 clinically diagnosed/‚Äėproxy‚Äô AD cases and 677,663 controls. We found 75 risk loci, of which 42 were new at the time of analysis. Pathway enrichment analyses confirmed the involvement of amyloid/tau pathways and highlighted microglia implication. Gene prioritization in the new loci identified 31 genes that were suggestive of new genetically associated processes, including the tumor necrosis factor alpha pathway through the linear ubiquitin chain assembly complex. We also built a new genetic risk score associated with the risk of future AD/dementia or progression from mild cognitive impairment to AD/dementia. The improvement in prediction led to a 1.6- to 1.9-fold increase in AD risk from the lowest to the highest decile, in addition to effects of age and the APOE őĶ4 allele
