Following Edmund Husserl's phenomenological method, the phenomenologies underlying the phenomena of globalization and civil society have been identified and the thesis was formulated that the phenomena of globalization and civil society serve the preservation of the capitalist society. Globalization is proving to be a trans-dimensional phenomenon in time and space, civil society is characterized by phenomenologies such as subject, risk and metamorphic inherence. For further analysis, structural elements were derived from the phenomenology of the phenomena. It was found that with their inconsistency these have a structure-retaining effect and may be constructed from a socio-theoretical perspective as a micro-macro problem or as a contrast of system in terms of the systems theory by Niklas Luhmann and discourse according to the discourse theory of Jürgen Habermas. Then, a mode was derived also from the phenomenologies of the phenomena from which those structures evolved that are functional for the preservation of the capitalist society. From this historical perspective, the phenomena of globalization and civil society are of-fered as interpretations by the capitalist world society in a synchronous and asynchronous interaction of long-scale structures in terms of Fernand Braudel’s ‘longue durée’ and recent social developments. The synopsis of the structure and mode of the phenomenologies together with the models ‘Modern Times’ by Peter Heintel or ‘Acceleration’ by Hartmut Rosa provided the foun-dation of the thesis that the phenomena of globalization and civil society serve the pre-servation of the capitalist society: The time-spatial trans-dimensionality of globalization leads to desynchronization in the systems of capitalist society because of its underlying acceleration. Those subjects who are facing risk in their lifeworld due to desynchronisa-tion and who are legitimately participating in social developments, may metamorphic inherently enter in form of civil society at the interface of the ‘blind spots’ of the architec-ture of system and discourse theory into the communication of society and arrange for resynchronization. This capitalist society-sustaining, elaborate design was created as ‘twin birth of globaliza-tion and civil society’ in the transition from feudalism to capitalism

Exploring Entrepreneurial Intention and Subjective Beliefs: A Comparative Analysis of General Education Schools and Commercial Schools

This study examines the entrepreneurial intentions of Austrian secondary school students, specifically comparing students from commercial schools with those from general education schools. We analyzed 2,329 data sets and found that subjective beliefs, primarily behavioral and control beliefs, significantly influence entrepreneurial intentions. In addition, demographic factors such as gender, language, acquaintance with entrepreneurs, and school type play a significant role in explaining the variance in entrepreneurial intentions. Our detailed analysis shows that students from commercial schools have stronger entrepreneurial intentions and subjective beliefs. Particularly notable are the differences in behavioral beliefs, where students from commercial schools find all aspects of entrepreneurship more attractive, especially job creation, taking calculated risks, and being one\u27s own boss. The differences in control beliefs suggest that commercial school students also feel better prepared for entrepreneurial tasks, especially in identifying market opportunities, securing financial resources, and maintaining relationships. These findings are consistent with the business and entrepreneurial focus of commercial schools, suggesting that they are effectively nurturing the entrepreneurial potential of their students. In considering instructional improvements for commercial schools, whether they should further increase their focus on aspects where students from both types of schools show minimal or no significant differences

What renders bulk metallic glass ductile/brittle? -- new insight from the medium-range order

Understanding ductility or brittleness of monolithic bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) requires detailed knowledge of the amorphous structure. The medium range order (MRO) of ductile Pd40_{40}Ni40_{40}P20_{20} and brittle Zr52.5_{52.5}Cu17.9_{17.9}Ni14.6_{14.6}Al10_{10}Ti5_5 (Vit105) was characterized prior to and after notched 3-point bending tests using variable-resolution fuctuation electron microscopy. Here we show the presence of a second larger MRO correlation length in the ductile material which is not present in the brittle material. A comparison with literature suggests that the larger correlation length accounts for larger shear transformation zones (STZs) which increase the heterogeneity. This enables an easier shear band formation and thus explains the difference in deformability

A Longitudinal Analysis of Violence and Housing Insecurity

Violence and housing insecurity are horrible events that may be intertwined, with violence possibly forcing victims to abandon their accommodations and housing insecurity depriving people of the safety of a home or placing them in compromised circumstances. This study uses national, prospective, longitudinal data from the Journeys Home Survey to examine how violence, housing insecurity, and other characteristics in one period affect disadvantaged Australian men's and women's chances of experiencing violence and housing insecurity in subsequent periods. The study is one of the first to investigate these relationships prospectively and unusual in considering how violence among adult men contributes to their housing insecurity. We estimate dynamic multivariate models that control for observed and time-invariant unobserved characteristics and find that men's chances of being housing secure without experiencing violence are 24-45 percent lower and women's chances are 12- 20 percent lower if they experienced housing insecurity, violence or both in the previous period. Heavy drinking, marijuana use, psychological distress, and a history of childhood abuse and neglect also increase the risks of violence and housing insecurity for both genders, while the presence of children reduces these risks. Women who are bisexual or lesbian and women with homeless friends also face elevated risks of housing insecurity, while men's sexual orientation and friend networks seem less relevant
