Relationship between Library Anxiety and Attitudes toward Computer based on an Integrated Model of ATC and BELCAT of Public Libraries’ Users
Abstract
Purpose: the present study evaluated the relationship between library anxiety and attitude toward computer based on as integrated model of ATC and BELCAT of public libraries’ user.
Methodology: the study was conducted using the analytic survey. A sample of 370 participants was randomly selected out of 10757 users of public libraries in Dezful city, Khouzestan, Iran. To collect data for library anxiety, Bostick questionnaire and for computer attitude a questionnaire based on ATC and BELCAT models were used.
Findings: the results showed that the most important factor of distress based on the scale of Bostick was the comfort with library (mean = 4.41) regarding the attitudes towards computer components of “computer appreciation (mean ranks = 6.95) was reported as the most important factor. In addition, users\u27 library anxiety and attitudes toward computer in terms of age and educational level were examined using one-way ANOVA; and Gender was also tested using the independent t-test, but no significant statistical difference was observed among these factors. The results indicated a significant relationship between library anxiety and user’s attitude toward computer (r=0.157) (p\u3c 0.01). Also, it was found that attitudes toward computer can serve as an indicator of library anxiety
The study of the relationship between perceived richness of information resources at Academic library and attitude towards using them
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between perceived richness of information resources at academic library and the attitude to use them by students\u27 of Islamic Azad University of Ahvaz; and conducted by an analytical survey method. Using stratified random sampling 380 students were selected and data were collected using researcher made questionnaire. Results showed that the students have no tendency (mean=3.2281) to use the information resources of library. Meanwhile, the library information resources in terms of update (mean=3.2281), accessibility (mean=3.1702), quality (mean=3.1342), transparency (mean=3.1325) and quick feedback ability (mean=3.1325) are above average and in a relatively favorable level; but, in terms of interactivity (mean=2.9746) they are at a relatively unfavorable. Results also demonstrated that there exist a significant positive relationship (Sig=0.000) between the perceived richness of information resources and the attitude to use them (r=0.689) .Due to the richness of various information resources, electronic resources (mean=2.35) has been specified richer than others. The update feature for periodicals (mean=3.69) and electronic resources (mean=3.76), and the feature of quality (mean=3.76) were the most important ones compared to the other dimensions of information richness. The study findings indicated that paying attention to the features of information resource richness could be effective in increasingthe students’attitude to use the information resources

Investigation of the Effective Factors on Unwillingness of the Adolescents and Youth from Public Libraries\u27 Services
Abstract
This study Investigate of the effective factors on unwillingness of the adolescents and youth from public libraries\u27 services. It is applied research, and done using the descriptive survey method. Using ratio sampling methods at the error level of 0.5 of 384 peopleof adolescents and the youth in Khuzestan province, who do not use public library services were selected. Data were collected by field method, using a researcher-developed questionnaire. Results showed that all internal and external factors are major barriers.Also, there is significance correlation between internal and external factors with the unwillingness of adolescents from public libraries\u27 services (Sig.=0.05)
Influence of Information Source Credibility and Quality on People's Attitude towards using it and electronic shopping behavior of information products
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the impact of resource credibility and quality on people's attitude towards it and the electronic shopping behavior of information products. Design / Methodology / Approach: Descriptive-analytic method with a causal-correlation approach used. Study sample was 364 students of Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences. The data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. Results / Discussion: The results of the hypothesis test showed that the reliability (r = 0.404), being specialized (r = 0.365) and attractiveness (r = 0.239) affect the attitude of people towards using the source. Therefore, people's attitude towards using the source has a strong significant effect on electronic shopping behavior (r = 0.776). Conclusion: The effect of the mediating role of people's attitude toward using information sources on the relationship between source credibility and the behavior of shopping electronic information products was confirmed. Originality / Value: Because decision-making is a smart behavior and requires information support, The source of information used to support the decision must have the necessary quality and credibility. Based on the results of this study, the quality and credibility of the information source affect the attitude of users and their use of information resources.
A Study of Users’ Motivation in using Information Services of Regional Information Center for Science and Technology
Abstract
Objective: The objective of this research is studying users’ motivation in using information service of regional information center for science and technology based on expectancy theory.
Methodology: The methodology is Analytical survey with correlation approach, and statistical population of this research includes users of regional information center for science and technology. Data was collected by the researcher-made questionnaire and was analyzed by SPSS software.
Findings: Findings of research showed that accessibility to useful information (mean=4), facilities to use information service (mean 3.95), usefulness of information service (mean 3.93), familiarity with center and satisfaction from its information service (mean=3.89), convenience of condition and manner of using information service (mean=3.88), varieties of information service (mean=3.7), and uniqueness of information service (mean 3.43) were the most important and effective factors on users’ motivation in using information service. In addition, results of hypotheses test showed the significant relationship between users’ motivation in using information service and their awareness in results value of information service (r=0.762). Moreover, there is significant relationship between users’ motivation in using information service and their perceptions about accessibility to information services (r=0.680).
Conclusion: Attention to motivator factors of behavior in using information service can leads to purposefulness of satisfaction service
Perception of the Characteristics of External Environment of Organizations and Its Effect on Managers’ Environmental Scanning in Using Information Resources
Abstract:
Purpose: The purpose of the present study is to investigate the characteristics of external environment of companies in the second industrial area of Ahvaz and its effect on managers\u27 environmental scanning behavior in using information resources.
Method: An analytic survey method is used to analyze the relationship between variables.
Findings: The findings showed that managers\u27 perception of various external environment is influenced by variability factors (economic sector, M=3.96), complexity (economic sector, M=3.77) and importance (customers\u27 sector, M=4.38). also the findings showed that managers\u27 environmental scanning can match managers\u27 perceived characteristics of various sectors of external environment, and from this aspect, they do the greatest scanning in economic environmental sector (M=7.4). The highest perceived strategic uncertainty (M=33.239) and environmental uncertainty (M=7.73) belonged to economic sector. Testing research hypotheses proved that managers\u27 perceived strategic uncertainty and environmental uncertainty from environmental sectors of companies has a direct relationship with environmental sectors in those parts; and there is a direct and significant relationship between perceived environmental uncertainty and the frequency with which information resources is used in environmental scanning

The Effect of the Perceived Information Richness Features of Portal on its Usage Rate and loyalty with the Mediating Role of Satisfaction
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effect of perceived information richness of the National Iranian South Oil Company portal on its users’ usage rate and loyalty with the mediating role of satisfaction.Design/Methodology/Approach: Applied research was conducted usinga causal-correlation survey approach. As a research sample 378 peoplewas selected from 25000 users of by simple random sampling and complete the researcher-made questionnaire with face-validity and reliability (α = 0.83).Results/Discussion: The results showed that satisfaction (mean=3.179),loyalty (mean = 3.467), and different information richness featuressuch as transparency (mean = 3.769), timeliness (mean = 3.78), interactivity (mean = 3.234), quick feedback (mean = 3.231), quality(mean = 3.936) and accessibility (3.662) are above average and relativelyfavorable.Conclusions: The results showed that among the features of the portal’srichness of information, the quality, interactivity, accessibility, and timeliness affect the usage rate of the portal and their loyalty mediated bysatisfactionOriginality/Value: Users’ loyalty and use of web portals is one of thefactors affecting their viability. Therefore, it is necessary to consider thefactors affecting them. In this study, information richness features are considered as effective factors
El efecto de la informaciĂłn del sistema de informaciĂłn sobre la satisfacciĂłn de los usuarios mediante el papel mediador del valor percibido de la informaciĂłn
This study investigates the effect of the information quality on the satisfaction of us-ers of the information system considering the mediating role of the perceived value of information. In this applied study, conducted using a causal-correlation approach, the study population was all users of information system in Ahvaz public libraries. A sample size of 384 subjects was selected by simple random sampling. Data were collected by a researcher-made questionnaire based on previous studies. The tools were validated by face validity and their reliability was confirmed using the Cron-bach's alpha (in the value of α = 0.812, 0.866 and 0.880, respectively) and the results were analyzed by SEM using SPSS 21 and AMOS 5 software. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the information quality of the information system has a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction (P = 0.000; β = 304), and perceived value of information (P = 0.000; β = 0.000). Also, the perceived value of information has a sig-nificant effect on user satisfaction (P = 0.000; β = 644). Meanwhile, the information quality of information system has a significant effect on user satisfaction with the mediating role of perceived information value (P = 0.000, β = 0.834). We conclude that the improvement of the information system quality in terms of information quality can improve the users’ perception of the value of information and their satisfaction
