Electroweak baryogenesis in the Z3-invariant NMSSM
We calculate the baryon asymmetry of the Universe in the Z3-invariant
Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model where the interactions of the
singlino provide the necessary source of charge and parity violation. Using the
closed time path formalism, we derive and solve transport equations for the
cases where the singlet acquires a vacuum expectation value (VEV) before and
during the electroweak phase transition. We perform a detailed scan to show how
the baryon asymmetry varies throughout the relevant parameter space. Our
results show that the case where the singlet acquires a VEV during the
electroweak phase transition typically generates a larger baryon asymmetry,
although we expect that the case where the singlet acquires a VEV first is far
more common for any model in which parameters unify at a high scale. Finally,
we examine the dependence of the baryon asymmetry on the three-body

Quality of Life and Body Dissatisfaction in Cisgender Men Reporting Sexual Attraction Toward Men or Women
Gay men report poorer body image than straight men, but no research has examined other dimensions of sexual identity (e.g., sexual attraction). Most research also focused on clinical outcomes of body dissatisfaction rather than subclinical influences on quality of life. We examined the association between sexual attraction (i.e., attraction to men or women), body dissatisfaction and quality of life in cisgender men. We hypothesised that: 1) men attracted to men would report higher body dissatisfaction, 2) men attracted to men would report lower quality of life (i.e., psychological, physiological, social, and environmental), 3) body dissatisfaction would be negatively associated with quality of life, and finally 4) body dissatisfaction mediates the association between sexual attraction and quality of life. A cross-sectional study (86 men attracted to men and 87 men attracted to women) supported these hypotheses but showed that sexual attraction was only associated with psychological quality of life. While sexual attraction was only associated with psychological quality of life, there were indirect associations with all quality of life domains acting through body dissatisfaction. Our findings emphasise that men attracted to men are at greater risk of poor body image and that body dissatisfaction is a pervasive health problem, negatively influencing subclinical health and well-being in cisgender men. We also highlight how body dissatisfaction may be one psychological process negatively influencing the psychological quality of life in men attracted to men. More resources should be directed toward preventing body dissatisfaction, particularly in sexual minoritised men
Review: Systematic review of the utility of the fetal cerebroplacental ratio measured at term for the prediction of adverse perinatal outcome
Aim This systematic review evaluates the utility of the fetal cerebroplacental ratio (CPR) when assessed at term (from 37 + 0 weeks gestation) as a predictor of adverse obstetric and perinatal outcomes. Data sources and search strategy An electronic search of Pubmed and Embase using variations of ‘cerebroplacental ratio’ and ‘cerebroumbilical ratio’ was conducted by two independent reviewers. Full text studies written in English that reported on low CPR and its correlation with relevant obstetric and perinatal outcomes were included. Results Twenty one studies satisfied inclusion with 13 prospective and eight retrospective analyses. Fetal CPR was predictive of caesarean section for intrapartum fetal compromise, small for gestational age and fetal growth restriction and neonatal intensive care unit admission. Low CPR was also significantly associated with abnormal fetal heart rate pattern, meconium stained liquor, low Apgar score, acidosis at birth and composite adverse perinatal outcome scores. The CPR when taken at term had comparable if not better predictive value than that when taken at preterm. Most studies included small for gestational age fetuses and postdate pregnancies. Subtle variation existed in the threshold for low CPR. Conclusion The CPR at term has a strong association with adverse obstetric and perinatal outcomes. This review suggests the predictive utility of CPR at term is promising however there is insufficient evidence to demonstrate its value as a stand-alone test. Inclusion of CPR as a component of clinical care may help better identify fetuses at risk of adverse outcome, and this should be tested with randomised control trials

Multiple Statistical Analysis Techniques Corroborate Intratumor Heterogeneity in Imaging Mass Spectrometry Datasets of Myxofibrosarcoma
MALDI mass spectrometry can generate profiles that contain hundreds of biomolecular ions directly from tissue. Spatially-correlated analysis, MALDI imaging MS, can simultaneously reveal how each of these biomolecular ions varies in clinical tissue samples. The use of statistical data analysis tools to identify regions containing correlated mass spectrometry profiles is referred to as imaging MS-based molecular histology because of its ability to annotate tissues solely on the basis of the imaging MS data. Several reports have indicated that imaging MS-based molecular histology may be able to complement established histological and histochemical techniques by distinguishing between pathologies with overlapping/identical morphologies and revealing biomolecular intratumor heterogeneity. A data analysis pipeline that identifies regions of imaging MS datasets with correlated mass spectrometry profiles could lead to the development of novel methods for improved diagnosis (differentiating subgroups within distinct histological groups) and annotating the spatio-chemical makeup of tumors. Here it is demonstrated that highlighting the regions within imaging MS datasets whose mass spectrometry profiles were found to be correlated by five independent multivariate methods provides a consistently accurate summary of the spatio-chemical heterogeneity. The corroboration provided by using multiple multivariate methods, efficiently applied in an automated routine, provides assurance that the identified regions are indeed characterized by distinct mass spectrometry profiles, a crucial requirement for its development as a complementary histological tool. When simultaneously applied to imaging MS datasets from multiple patient samples of intermediate-grade myxofibrosarcoma, a heterogeneous soft tissue sarcoma, nodules with mass spectrometry profiles found to be distinct by five different multivariate methods were detected within morphologically identical regions of all patient tissue samples.
