Transnational Collaboration Within Higher Education in China: Context, Characteristics, and Challenges
This paper discusses the development of transnational collaboration in Chinese higher education (TNHE). TNHE refers to arrangements and institutional partnerships between Educational Institutions, in which the students are located in different countries from the one in which the awarding institution is based. Through analyzing the cases of TNHE in China, we found that the convergence/globalization model and the borrowing/localization model are two main TNHE prototypes. TNHE in China is guided by the Government, which is aiming to enhance China’s international competitiveness, in a globalizing world. This paper discusses the consumers and the operation of TNHE in China. In addition to the context analysis, critical factors for the success of TNHE in China are addressed, consisting of the long-term strategic vision, governance, management, and strategy. TNHE in China faces several challenges, including duplication of similar projects, quality assurance and legal status. Based on the comprehensive analysis, a business model of TNHE of China is proposed
A Conceptual Framework for Livestreaming on Behavior Outcomes: The Role of Influencers
Livestreaming is characterized by its immediacy, authenticity, and the ability of the audience to interact with the creator or streamer during the stream. Live streaming activity achieved tremendous popularity from the availability of diverse platforms. During livestreaming activity, influencers are considered to be powerful marketing tools due to their perceived credibility, authenticity and relatability. Firstly, this paper defines livestreaming and influencers. Then, from literature review, we developed the conceptual framework which proposes the following propositions: atmosphere and presentation skills are positively related to product brief; product belief is positively related to consumer choice, consumer trust and consumer identity; consumer identity, consumer trust are positively related to consumer satisfaction; sales promotion is positively related to consumer satisfaction but negatively related to consumer trust. Herding Effect based Attention for Personalized Time-Sync Video Recommendation
Time-sync comment (TSC) is a new form of user-interaction review associated
with real-time video contents, which contains a user's preferences for videos
and therefore well suited as the data source for video recommendations.
However, existing review-based recommendation methods ignore the
context-dependent (generated by user-interaction), real-time, and
time-sensitive properties of TSC data. To bridge the above gaps, in this paper,
we use video images and users' TSCs to design an Image-Text Fusion model with a
novel Herding Effect Attention mechanism (called ITF-HEA), which can predict
users' favorite videos with model-based collaborative filtering. Specifically,
in the HEA mechanism, we weight the context information based on the semantic
similarities and time intervals between each TSC and its context, thereby
considering influences of the herding effect in the model. Experiments show
that ITF-HEA is on average 3.78\% higher than the state-of-the-art method upon

Sequential Wnt Agonist then Antagonist Treatment Accelerates Tissue Repair and Minimizes Fibrosis
Tissue fibrosis compromises organ function and occurs as a potential
long-term outcome in response to acute tissue injuries. Currently, lack of
mechanistic understanding prevents effective prevention and treatment of the
progression from acute injury to fibrosis. Here, we combined quantitative
experimental studies with a mouse kidney injury model and a computational
approach to determine how the physiological consequences are determined by the
severity of ischemia injury, and to identify how to manipulate Wnt signaling to
accelerate repair of ischemic tissue damage while minimizing fibrosis. The
study reveals that Wnt-mediated memory of prior injury contributes to fibrosis
progression, and ischemic preconditioning reduces the risk of death but
increases the risk of fibrosis. Furthermore, we validated the prediction that
sequential combination therapy of initial treatment with a Wnt agonist followed
by treatment with a Wnt antagonist can reduce both the risk of death and
fibrosis in response to acute injuries
