    The cultivation of plants melon in Riau based on condition growing is in line, but there were several obstacles such as the land in Riau levels of fertility land which is low.This research aims to determine the combination of doses of an empty oil palm bunches of compost and fertilizer n, p, k the best against growth and melon crop production (Cucumis melo L.) in the trial gardenFaculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research was conducted on February 2015 until June 2015. The research has been carried out experimentally in the form of Randomized Completely Design Factorial 2 x 4. The first factor is the dose compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches consist of two levels and the second factor is the dose of N (ZA) fertilizer, P (TSP) fertilizer and K (KCL) fertilizer consist of four levels. Data analyzed by ANOVA and further tested using by Duncan`s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%.parameter made were higher plants, diameter of stem, appears the male flowers and female flowers, diameter of fruits, weight of fruits per sampel and weightof fruits per plot. The results showed the treatment compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches and N, P, K fertilizer significantly affect on the plants height, diameter of stem, appears the male flowers and female flowers but not significant on the diameter of fruits, weight of fruits per sampel and weightof fruits per plot. The application compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches with dose of 20 tons/ha and ZA fertilizer 120 kg/ ha, TSP fertilizer 80 kg/ha, KCl 200 kg/ ha is the best dose in order to enchance growth and production of melon

    This research is held at the greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru starts in March to August 2016. The trial uses the factorial of Complete Random Program (RAL). The first factor of the water tension comprises of three levels, they are : (pF 1 - 1,97), (pF 2,29 - 2,54) and (pF 2,70 - 3) and the second factor of the fertilization dosage of N, P, and K which comprises of four levels without fertilization of N, P, and K, given ½ x recommended dosage, given recommended dosage, and given 1½ x recommended dosage. The process is repeated three times. The data of observation result could be statistically analysed with ANOVA and followed by Duncan test at 5% level. The observed parametre are nutrients uptake of N, P and K, the efficiency of absorption of N, P, and K, height of plants, phase of malai's appearances, number of productive tiller, ratio of stem and root, period of harvest, weight of 1000 paddy seeds and product efficiency. The result of this research shows the interaction of water tension and fertilisation dosage of N, P, and K visibly influnce the nutrients of N, P, and K, height of plants, ratio of stem and root, and weight of 1000 paddy seeds. Invisibly influence to the phase of malai's appearances, period of harvest, and number of productive tiller. Combination of water tension pF 1 - 1,97 and fertilization dosage 1 ½ x recommeded dosage are the best combinations

    This research aim is to know the influence and get a glycine concentration on vacin and went (VW) medium that giving the best growth of Dendrobium orchid plantlet by in vitro. This research was conducted in Plant Biotechnological Laboratory of Farm Faculty, University of Riau, Pekanbaru from March till June 2014. This research is an experiment used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which arranged in six levels and three repetitions. The treatment is giving a several glycine concentration started with without glycine, 1 mg glycine/l, 2 mg glycine/l, 3 mg glycine/l, 4 mg glycine/l and 5 mg glycine/l. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The result showed that giving a several glycine concentration was not significant for all parameters, but giving glycine with concentration 4 mg/l showed the best result to the height of plant, leaf amount, root amount and visual view of the Dendrobium orchid plantlet

    The research aims to determine the interaction between subsoil mixture with compost TKKS and watering volume and determine the exact interaction to provide the best growth in oil palm seedlings in the main nursery. The reasearch was carried out for 5 months starting from october 2014 until february 2015. This reasearch was conducted in Greenhouse Agriculture Faculty University Of Riau Campus Bina Widya KM 12,5 Simpang Baru Tampan, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted experiments using completely randomized factorial design, which consisted of 2 factors with 3 replications. The first factor is a mixture of ultisol sub soil with compost TKKS (C) based on the volume that consists of 3 levels, were : C1 = (1:2), C2 = (1:1), C3 = (2:1), the second factor is the watering volume (A) consisting of 3 levels, were :A1= 2 liter,A2= 1,5 liter, A3= 1 liter. Thus there are 9 combined treatment and 27 units of trial and each experimental unit contained two plants so that overall there are 54 plans. Results of analysis of variance followed by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. The results showed that the interaction of a mixture of ultisol sub soil with compost TKKS the ratio of 1:2 and watering volume of 1.5 liter/day give the best effect on all parameters abserved

    The research aimed to determine the effect of interaction giving of vermicompost fertilizer and cow urine to the growth of oil palm seeds (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) and get a suitable combination for the growth of oil palm seedlings in main nursery. The research was conducted from April to July 2015. The research used to completely randomized design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factors . The first factor is vermicompost fertilizer consists of 4 levels: vermicompost fertilizer dose of 0 g/plant, vermicompost fertilizer dose of 25 g/plant, vermicompost fertilizer dose of 50 g/plant and vermicompost fertilizer dose of 75 g/plant. The second factor is the concentration of cow urine consists of 4 levels: cow urine concentrations of 0%, cow urine concentration of 20%, cow urine concentration of 30%/ and cow urine concentration of 40%. From two factors then obtained 16 combined treatment with 3 replications. Parameters measured were increase of seed high, increase of midrib number, increase of hump circumference, root volume, root crown ratio and dry seeds weight. The data were analyzed using ANOVA followed by Duncan further test at 5% level. The results of the research showed that application vermicompost fertilizer and cow urine on oil palm seed there is interaction between giving of vermicompost fertilizer and cow urine on increase of seed high and increase of hump circumference. Combination treatment of vermicompost fertilizer dose with 125 g/plant and cow urine concentration of 40 % showed the best results of all observed parameters

    The research aims to know the interaction and get the best dose of compost mixture of oil palm empty fruit bunches with boiler ash and phosphorus fertilizer to the growth and yield of mung bean. This research conducted in UPT area of research farm in Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from August 2015 until October 2015. This research used a randomized completely design with two factors and three replications. The first factor is the dose of compost mixture of oil palm empty fruit bunches with boiler ash consist of 3 levels (A1= 0 ton/ha, A2= 5 + 1 ton/ha and A3= 10 +0,5 ton/ha). The second factor is the dose of phosphorus fertilizer that consist of 3 levels (B1= 0 kg P2O5/ha, B2= 46 kg P2O5/ha and B3= 92 kg P2O5/ha). Parameters measured were plant height, number of branch, flowering time, number of nodules, plant dry weight, pods number per plant, the percentage of pithy pods per plant, yield per plant and weight of 100 seeds. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and followed with DNMRT at level of 5%. The result showed the interaction between giving compost mixture of oil palm empty fruit bunches with boiler ash and the phosphorus fertilizer increasedplant dry weight, production per clumps sample and weight of 100 seeds.compost mixture of oil palm empty fruit bunches with boiler ash dose 10+ 0,5 ton/ha and phosphorus fertilizer dose 46 and 92 kg P2O5/ha showed the best result in rate of plant height, number of branch, number of nodules, plant dry weight, pods number per plant, weight of 100 seeds and yield per plant, which is the best yield per plant is 11,96 g (1,99 ton/ha)

    The research aims to look at the giving of various dose combinations Palm Empty Fruit Bunch compost (PEFB) and spacing on the growth and yield of edamame soybean and to get the best treatment combination between compost PEFB and planting distance of the growth and production of edamame soybean. Research conducted in the experimental field Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau. Research period on June until August 2014. Experiments with 4 x 3 factorial using a randomized block design (RBD). The first factor is composting palm empty fruit bunch consisting of 4 levels (5, 10, 15 and 20 ton / ha). The second factor is planting distance consists of 3 levels (10 × 20, 15 × 20 and 20 × 20 cm), combination is repeated three times respectively. The efect of each treatment combination known through Duncan multiple test 5% level. Parameters measured were leaf area, root nodule effective, flowering time, the percentage of pods pithy, pithy number of pods per plant and yield per plot. The results showed that the combination of composting palm empty fruit bunch with planting distance effect on the effective root nodules, number of pods pithy planting, production per plot but did not affect the leaf area, flowering time, the percentage of pods pithy. The highest production was found in compost treatment of palm empty fruit bunches of 20 ton / ha and distance of (15 × 20) cm with a production that is 1717.2 g / plot
