    The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly and negatively impacted the global stock markets. Hence, we investigated the time-varying impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on stock returns during the period from January 27, 2020 to December 23, 2021 using the TVP-VAR-SV model and used G7 countries as our research sample. Our results imply that (i) the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has a significant negative impact on stock returns, but the impact decreases as the time window increases; (ii) the timeliness, compulsoriness, and effectiveness of anti-epidemic policies implemented by governments are the important adjustment factors for stock returns; (iii) the impact of the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic on the stock market trend gradually weakens as the intermediate time interval increases. In addition, over time, the duration of the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the stock returns became shorter, and the recovery rate of the impact became faster; (iv) under the managed floating exchange rate regime, the stock returns changed synchronously with the pressures of exchange rate appreciation and depreciation, and under the free-floating exchange rate regime, the effect of the exchange rate on stock returns was almost zero, while the impact of exchange rate channels in eurozone countries was related to the characteristics of national economies. Thus, governments should make greater efforts to improve the compulsion and effectiveness of epidemic prevention policies and strengthen their control over exchange rate fluctuations to alleviate the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the stock markets.</p

Our study aims to retrospectively compare piezoelectric osteotome with conventional reciprocal bone saw for hemifacial microsomia patients and validate its meliority in operability, surgical risks and patient outcomes.MethodsAll patients included underwent osteotomies conducted by either piezosurgery or bone saw.     How does corporate internationalization affect the link between social responsibility and financial performance? Evidence from China

    Using evidence from 667 Chinese enterprises over the period 2013 to 2018, this study examines whether corporate internationalization improves the impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on corporate financial performance (CFP). Specifically, we define CSR along the dimensions of shareholder, employee, supply chain, environment and society. The change in the relationship between CSR and CFP in the context of internationalization was studied systematically using regression analysis. The study’s results indicate that corporate internationalization exercises a significant and negative moderating effect on the relationship between shareholder-oriented CSR and CFP across the whole sample. In addition, corporate internationalization significantly moderates the relationship between different dimensions of CSR and CFP when the sample is further divided into labor-intensive, capital-intensive and technology-intensive enterprises; and that such moderating impacts vary across the three subsets of enterprises. The findings can suggest to managers in different industries which dimensions of CSR activities are likely to improve CFP in the context of corporate internationalization.</p

    Longitudinal measurement invariance of the Child Problematic Trait Inventory in older Chinese children

    The Child Problematic Traits Inventory (CPTI) is a newly developed informant-rated instrument to measure psychopathic traits during early childhood. The aim of this study was to examine the longitudinal measurement invariance of the CPTI in a group of Chinese schoolchildren. Mothers of 585 children aged 8 to 12 years (50% girls) completed the CPTI twice with one-year interval. Confirmatory factor analyses showed that the CPTI had strict invariance (i.e., equality of factor patterns, loadings, intercepts, and item uniqueness) across time. Furthermore, the internal consistencies for the CPTI subscales were good at both time points and the stability coefficients over time were moderate. Findings suggest that, in children aged 8 to 12 years old, changes in CPTI scores across time can be attributed to actual changes in the child’s psychopathic personality.</div
