    Malay Apple (Syzygium malaccense) Fruit Calendar: A Case in Central Java

     AbstractMalay apple (Syzygium malaccense) is a kind of popular fruit tree originally from Indo-Malayan-Region or South East Asia. There are many environmental factors affecting the flowering time, infrutescence number, fruit size, and fruit number, such as fruit position on the spur, spur size, fruit number set on the spur, and the date of flowering. The objectives of this study were to find out the fruit production during dry and wet seasons, so that fruit calendar can be determined.  The method used in this study was survey and observation on Malay apple trees in Banyumas, Purbalingga, and Kebumen from 2018 to 2021. The results of this study showed that June, July, and August when the precipitation was the lowest, the fruit number is the highest, and fruit size is the smallest (145–175 mL). On the other hand, when the precipitation was high (September-April), the fruit was the largest (180–500 mL).  Fruit harvest time might change every year depending on climatic factors such as average daily temperature and precipitation. There is no specific harvest time for Malay apples. The implementation of the results of this research is that we do not need to predict when the Malay apple harvest season will be, because the harvest time can be at any time.AbstrakJambu bol (Syzygium malaccense) merupakan salah satu jenis pohon buah-buahan populer yang berasal dari Wilayah Indo-Malayan atau Asia Tenggara. Banyak faktor lingkungan yang memengaruhi waktu berbunga, jumlah bunga, ukuran buah, dan jumlah buah, seperti posisi buah pada tajuk, ukuran tajuk, jumlah buah tiap dompol, dan tanggal berbunga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui produksi buah pada musim kemarau dan musim hujan, sehingga dapat ditentukan kalender buah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei dan observasi pada pohon jambu bol di Banyumas, Purbalingga, dan Kebumen dari tahun 2018 sampai dengan tahun 2021. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada bulan Juni, Juli, dan Agustus curah hujan paling rendah, jumlah buahnya paling tinggi, dan ukuran atau volume buahnya relatif  paling kecil (145–175 mL). Sebaliknya, ketika curah hujan rata-rata tinggi (September-April), buahnya berukuran besar, dengan volume 180–500 mL. Waktu panen buah dapat berubah setiap tahun tergantung pada faktor iklim seperti suhu harian rata-rata dan curah hujan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada waktu yang spesifik untuk waktu panen jambu bol. Implementasi dari hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa kita tidak perlu memprediksi kapan musim panen jambu bol, karena waktu panen bisa kapan saja

Reinwardtia 20(2): 43‒49. ― The taxonomic and nomenclatural confusions surrounding the Syzygium confusum complex are elucidated. For that purpose, type specimens are designated and circumscriptions are presented for each species. Typifications, newly characterized descriptions and illustrations are presented for Syzygium korthalsii Widodo, S. confusum (Blume) Bakh.f., S. blumei (Steudel) Merr. & L.M.Perry, S. insigne (Blume) Merr. & L.M.Perry. The new species Syzygium sipirokense Widodo & Veldkamp is described. 

    Effects Of Humic Acid And Planting Media On Antioxidant Production In The Medicinal Plant Valerian (Valeriana officinalis L.)

    Valerian (Valeriana officinalis L.) is a medicinal plant that contains active compounds such as flavonoids and alkaloids that are important as antioxidants. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of humic acid concentration in different planting media on the antioxidant content. The main factor of this experiment was the concentration of humic acid added to the planting media at concentrations of 0, 4, 8, and 12 g kg-1. The second factor was the planting medium, of which there were three types: sand/soil (1 kg kg-1), husk/soil (1 kg kg-1), and zeolite/soil (0.5 kg kg-1). We determined the biomass, antioxidant content (polyphenols, flavonoids, and alkaloids), and IC50 values of valerian plants grown in various media. Our results show that the combination of the humic acid and planting medium affected the antioxidant content and activity in valerian plants. In particular, the planting medium containing zeolite and 8 g kg-1 of humic acid increased the antioxidant content and activity. From the result it can be concluded that a combination of humic acid and zeolite medium can be applied for valerian’s farmer

    KOMPOSISI JENIS INVASIVE ALIENS SPECIES (IAS) DI KEBUN RAYA BATURRADEN, JAWA TENGAH

    Ecologically Invasive Aliens Species (IAS) poses a particular threat to the conservation area that is a biodiversity sanctuary, Baturraden Botanical Garden (KRB). The purpose of this research is to find out the composition of IAS in KRB. This method of research is a survey method with purposive random sampling. Observation and prosecution is done by dividing krb into 10 plots. Information on the introduction process as well as conservation strategy recommendations is obtained through library studies and interviews with resouce person. The data then analyzed using the Importance Value Index (INP). The results showed that the IAS introduction process began in 1952 through the utilization of Protected Forest (HL) and Limited Production Forest (HPT) in KRB; The vegetation community structure in the KRB is dominated by spikes (saplings), seedlings, trees and poles. There were 13 IAS species consisting of 9 families; Seedling and saplings Calliandra houstoniana var. calothyrsus (Meissner) Barneby and Agathis dammara (Lamb). Rich. while at Agathis dammara (Lamb) tree level. Rich. and Schima wallichii Choisy. potential as a special IAS in the KRB; Controlling can be done through mitigation, periodic maintenance and eradication.     Distribution of Salacca zalacca ‘Kelapa’

    Salak or snake fruit (Salacca zalacca) or salak is a kind of popular fruit originated from Sumatra and Java. There are many cultivars including both the wild and the hybrid ones. One of many cultivars namely S. zalacca ‘Kelapa’ was observed for their distribution.  This cultivar is considered to be unusual because it has only a few spines on its petioles. This cultivar was previously found only in Karangasem Bali especially in the subdistrict of Sibetan, Selat, and Rendang and in Batujajar in West Java.  A new record was found in Banjarnegara especially in Sokanandi Village. A map of the distribution of this cultivar is presented.

    Abstract - Enter text into mobile devices slow and error prone compared to typing on a full size keyboard. Google offers a feature on the Android which aims to make the sound as an alternative input method, eg using voice search, voice input text into a specific field and the Application Programming Interface (API) for developers of voice applications. To search by voice, users simply tapping the microphone icon on the desktop search box or by holding down physical search. This study aims to build an application that converts voice into text with Indonesian. Applications created using Google Speech API, the programming language used Java programming language. Eclipse Java editor used. Application tested on Android smartphones. The benefits of this application is to reduce errors entering input in the text field. Further, the application can also be used to record the results of the talks has been directly shaped rekamanya text.Keywords: Speech To Text, Google APIsAbstrak - Memasukkan teks ke dalam perangkat mobile lambat dan rentan kesalahan dibandingkan dengan mengetik pada keyboard ukuran penuh.  Google menawarkan fitur pada Android yang bertujuan untuk membuat suara sebagai alternatif metode input, misal penelusuran menggunakan suara, input suara ke dalam text field tertentu dan Application Programming Interface (API) suara untuk pengembang aplikasi. Untuk menelusuri menggunakan suara, pengguna secara sederhana mengetuk ikon mikropon pada kotak pencarian desktop atau dengan menahan tombol pencarian fisik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun aplikasi yang mengkonversi suara ke dalam teks dengan Bahasa Indonesia. Aplikasi dibuat menggunakan API Google Speech, bahasa pemrograman yang digunakan bahasa pemrograman Java. Editor Java yang digunakan Eclipse. Aplikasi diujicoba pada smartphone Android. Manfaat dari aplikasi ini adalah mengurangi kesalahan memasukkan input pada bidang teks.     ABSTRACT - The development of information technology today is so rapid, reaching in all fields. One of them is the development of information technology in the field of hospital health. Linen management has a very important role in supporting the smooth service activities at the hospital. Linen management at RSUP dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten still uses manual methods in terms of linen management administration activities and making reports, so it is still less effective because it results in paper pile up, the risk of losing data is high and requires more time and effort. The purpose of this research is to design a web-based linen distribution information system. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and literature study conducted for five weeks. The system development method used was the prototype method that is listening to customers and building / repairing mock ups. The result of the proposed system is a prototype of a web-based linen distribution information system that will facilitate officers in carrying out administrative activities in linen management and making linen distribution reports so that an effective and efficient activity can be achieved in supporting the smooth service activities at the RSUP Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten. Pengelolaan linen mempunyai peranan yang sangat penting dalam menunjang aktivitas kelancaran pelayanan pada rumah sakit. Pengelolaan linen pada RSUP dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten masih menggunakan metode manual dalam hal kegiatan administrasi pengelolaan linen dan pembuatan laporan, sehingga masih kurang efektif dikarenakan mengakibatkan penumpukan kertas, resiko kehilangan data tinggi serta membutuhkan waktu dan tenaga yang lebih banyak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang sistem informasi distribusi linen berbasis web. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka yang dilakukan selama lima minggu. Metode pengembangan sistem yang dipakai adalah metode prototype yaitu mendengarkan pelanggan dan membangun/memperbaiki mock up. Hasil dari sistem usulan yang dibuat adalah prototype sistem informasi distribusi linen berbasis web yang akan mempermudah petugas dalam melakukan kegiatan administrasi pengelolaan linen dan pembuatan laporan distribusi linen sehingga dapat tercapai suatu kegiatan yang efektif dan efisien dalam menunjang aktivitas kelancaran pelayanan pada RSUP dr.     Keanekaragaman Tumbuhan Paku Terestrial di Cagar Alam Pemalang Jawa Tengah

    Tumbuhan paku adalah tumbuhan perintis yang dapat ditemukan di setiap tipe kawasan hutan dan memegang peranan penting dalam menyusun ekosistem hutan. Kawasan hutan dapat mengalami perubahan fungsi yang antara lain diakibatkan oleh perbedaan kondisi di tepi hutan dengan di dalam hutan. Dampak dari bertemunya dua kondisi lingkungan yang berbeda tersebut terhadap tumbuhan dan hewan dapat disebut efek tepi (edge effect). Penelitian dilakukan di Cagar Alam Bantarbolang Pemalang, Jawa Tengah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman dan faktor lingkungan tumbuhan paku terestrial di Cagar Alam Bantarbolang. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Indeks Nilai Penting (INP),  Indeks Keanekaragamaan (H’) Shannon-Wiener, Indeks Kemerataan Spesies (e), dan Indeks Kesamaan Komunitas (IS). Hasil penelitian di Cagar Alam Bantarbolang diperoleh tumbuhan paku terestrial sebanyak 10 spesies yang terdiri dari 400 individu termasuk dalam 6 familia. Spesies yang paling banyak ditemukan yaitu Stenochlaena palustris dengan 205 individu. Cagar Alam Bantarbolang dipengaruhi oleh efek tepi, karena semakin ke dalam hutan jumlah spesies tumbuhan paku terestrial semakin sedikit. Faktor lingkungan yang berpengaruh terhadap jumlah spesies tumbuhan paku terestrial yaitu suhu, intensitas cahaya dan pH tanah. &nbsp

    INVENTARISASI PALEM DI HUTAN BODOGOL, TAMAN NASIONAL GUNUNG GEDE PANGRANGO

    Palms inventory at Bodogol Forest, Mount Gede Pangrango National Park found 19 species of palms from nine genera. All those 19 species are two species of Arenga, three species of Calamus, two species of Caryota, five species of Daemonorops, one species of Korthalsia, one species of Nenga, two species of Pinanga, one species of Plectocomia and two species of Salacca. One species of Salacca is unidentified, further study is needed to clear up its taxonomy status. Identification key, synopsys of each species and its distribution at Bodogol forest are presented.
