Intelligence Quotient (Iq) as a Predictor of Reading Comprehension and Writing Achievement of Efl Learners
This study aimed at investigating Intelligent Quotient (IQ) as a predictor of reading comprehension and writing achievement as well as to correlate the students\u27 reading comprehension with their writing achievement. The participant of the study were 32 senior high school Indonesian students. There are three instruments used in this study, those are IQ test, reading comprehension test, and writing test. Upon obtaining the whole data needed, Pearson Product Moment formula was employed to determine the correlation of IQ with reading comprehension and writing achievement as well as reading comprehension with writing achievement. The result of this study revealed that IQ made significant contribution in predicting reading comprehension (23.42%) and writing achievement (16.08%). In addition, the correlation coefficient of reading comprehension and writing achievement shows that they are moderately correlated (r=.587), meaning that reading comprehension contributes as many as 34.45% to writing achievement
Analisis Leksikal Untuk Mengidentifikasi Kata Kerja
Kalimat terdiri dari berbagai macam kata, dalam pembentukan kalimat terdapat berbagai macam sifat dan kedudukan kata yang digunakan. Salah satunya yaitu kata kerja. Kata kerja dapat terdiri dari kata kerja asli, atau Perubahan dari kata sifat dan kata yang lainnya yang memperoleh imbuhan sehingga berubah menjadi sebuah kata kerja. Dalam metode analisis leksikal, kata disebut dengan token, dimana analisis leksikal melakuakan scanning terhadap karakter yang sesuai dengan token yang sudah ditetapkan. Token yang diidentifikasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kata kerja, dimana kata kerja terdiri dari kata kerja murni dan kata kerja yang memperoleh imbuhan. Menggunakan tool Visual Studio 2010 dan bahasa pemrograman C# dalam penelitian ini dapat menciptakan sebuah aplikasi yang dapat mendeteksi kata kerja pada kalimat. Peramalan dan Faktor Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Harga Bawang Merah di Sumatera Utara
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi harga bawang merah di Sumatera Utara, menganalisis pola data harga bawang merah berdasarkan data harga bawang merah bulanan di Sumatera Utara dan menentukan metode peramalan terbaik untuk meramal harga bawang merah berdasarkan data harga bawang merah bulanan. di Sumatera Utara. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder. Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda, plot data, autokorelasi dan metode peramalan data time series (double exponential smoothing holt, regresi linier sederhana, exponential Growth dan ARIMA (0,1,1)). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pertambahan jumlah penduduk dan harga bawang merah sebelumnya di Sumatera Utara memiliki pengaruh yang nyata terhadap harga bawang merah di Sumatera Utara, nilai tukar Rupiah terhadap USD dan dummy hari besar keagamaan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap harga bawang merah di Sumatera Utara. Pola data harga bawang merah di Sumatera Utara memiliki pola data Tren meningkat yang berfluktuatif. Dan metode peramalan harga bawang merah yang paling baik digunakan di Sumatera Utara adalah metode peramalan ARIMA dengan model ARIMA (0,1,1)

PROFIL GENETIK IODOTIRONIN DEIODENASE DAN STATUS TIROID PADA WANITA USIA SUBUR PENDERITA HIPOTIROID DAN HIPOTIROID SUBKLINIK Genetic Profile of Iodothyronine Deiodenase and Thyroid Status in Childbearing Age Women Case on Hypothyroid and Subclinical Hypothyroid Cases ABSTRACT Background.Genetic variation has an important contribution to overall variation in the thyroid function test, with estimates varying from 30 to 65 %. There are three deiodenases with different physiological role. Deiodenases play a role in thyroid hormone homeostatis, development, growth and metabolic control by affecting the intracellular levels of T3 and thus gene expression on a cell specific basis. Type 1 deiodinase plays a role in hormone T3 cycle from T4 form and inactivation T3 into rT3. Polymorphism of D1 associate with fT3, fT4 and rT3 level. Type 2 deiodinase (D2) initiates thyroid hormone signaling by activating the pro hormone thyroxine (T4) to the biologically active T3 molecules. The 3 deiodenase (D3) terminates thyroid hormones action by catalyzing the inactivation of both T4 and T3 molecules. Objective. The aims of this study were to find polymorphism profile in iodothyronin deiodenase gene and describe its association in thyroid hormones level at hypothyroid and subclinical hipothyroid woman of childbearing age in IDD (Iodine Deficiency Disorder) endemic area. Method. Subject were four hypothyroid and suspect hypothyroid women. Thyroid hormones were analyzed using ELISA, while iodothyronin deiodenase polymorphism was analyzed using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR-RFLP) method. Result.The results showed polymorphism of D1-C/T were found at one subject that diagnozed with hypothyroid and two subjects with subclinical hypothyroid. But there was no polymorphism at D1 A/G and D3. Two type of polymorphisms were found in D2. Ratio of fT3/fT4 in hypothyroid subject was higher than others. Conclusion. Polymorphism was found in iodothyronine deiodenase gene. Polymorphism at iodotyronine deiodenase will increase fT3/fT4 ratio in hypothyroid subject
