The "New Identity" of the Immigrants in the United States: a Study of Two Poems
The United States of America has long been the land of hopes and dreams. People poured into the country for a better life. The ('native') people of the country have campaigned that everybody is welcome to live and become the citizens there; they also claim that they respect and appreciate human right and do not discriminate people. The two poems analyzed here describe the efforts and struggles of immigrants who came to the United States and tried to become her citizens, a thing that 'in reality' is very difficult and full of obstacles. Those newcomers were hampered by many things, both from the things outside and inside them. Immigrants who now live in USA write the two poems and they are interesting to be analyzed, as they picture experiences and struggles of migrants living in a new countr
Diagnosis Dan Penatalaksanaan Kardiomiopati Peripartum
Signs and symptoms associated with physiologic changes of the cardiovascular system in women during the last trimester of pregnancy, may obscure the diagnosis of heart disease during that time. Therefore, it is difficult to diagnose congestive heart disease in pregnant women. We report one patient with peripartum cardiomyopathy, which is a very rare heart disease in pregnant women. Recognizing that peripartum cardiomyopathy may occur in pregnant women without any history of heart disease is of clinical importance, since it allows early diagnosis and treatment directed toward the congestive state
Nonlinear interaction of spin and charge currents in graphene
We describe a nonlinear interaction between charge currents and spin currents
which arises from the energy dependence of the conductivity. This allows
nonmagnetic contacts to be used for measuring and controlling spin signals. We
choose graphene as a model system to study these effects and predict its
magnitudes in nonlocal spin valve devices. The ambipolar behavior of graphene
is used to demonstrate amplification of spin accumulation in p-n junctions by
applying a charge current through nonmagnetic contacts.Comment: minor changes, 4 pages, 3 figure
Cooperation in R&D as a leading indicator of innovative activity growth
Purpose: The article is focused on new trends in cooperation activity in research and development in the manufacturing industries of Russia. Various types of cooperation are considered, special attention is paid to research organizations and universities.
Design/Methodology/Approach: In the context of this issue, it seems necessary to consider the conceptual framework and information basis for the analysis of scientific activity, to study the problems of scientific and technical cooperation, based on the works of foreign and domestic scientists and to develop indicators of cooperative activities.
Finding: Authors proposed to rank the regions of Russia by the level of cooperation activity based on a specially developed hidden indicator. Comparison of the results obtained with regional layers of the costs of R&D suggests that joint research and development activities are typical for those regions that pay considerable attention to development of science. Ranking regions of Russia in terms of cooperative activity allowed identifying the leaders and outsiders of this process.
Practical implications: The results of the study can be used in the development of measures of regional development of the country in the implementation of R&D.
Originality/Value: To study the impact of the resource base on the cooperative activities of the organization, the authors proposed a composite indicator that includes a wide range of indicators that consider various aspects of cooperative activity. This work was supported by a grant of Russian Foundation for Basic Research â„–18-010-00564 Modern Tendencies and Social and Economic Consequences of Digital Technologies Development in Russia.peer-reviewe
