Business plan for a cultural platform
The business plan to be presented intends to support the development of a cultural platform
that is built under three pivotal features: a broad cultural program, an accessible education
component and a social dimension that strives for supporting immigrant communities.
This project aspires to be a means of promotion of cultural diversity and cultural dialogue and
to ultimately contribute to a better integration of immigrant communities within the
Portuguese society.
By developing this proposal, the author intends to present a business model that is sustainable
and to subsequently eradicate the widespread notion that a cultural project never represents
any return on investment.
The underlying methodology comprehends the development of a theoretical context through a
literature review, which was proceeded by a PESTEL and Porter analysis. An overview on the
sector was performed, as well a review on the project’s competitive context. Additionally, the
proposal involved the assessment of intrinsic opportunities and threats and the development of
a survey that supported the STP and marketing mix strategies. After developing a systemic
SWOT, a financial evaluation was conducted.
This theoretical structure provided the conditions to conclude that there is an overall favorable
environment that will most certainly allow the implementation of a project with the profile
that was previously mentioned. Subsequently, this project is expected to generate an NPV of
1,1 million Euros and an IRR of 27%. The investment is predicted to be recovered in less than
nine years and the project’s profitability index will represent 2,01 € per capital unit.O business plan desenvolvido tem como objetivo sustentar a criação de uma plataforma
recuperação do investimento será realizada em menos de nove anos e o índice de
rendibilidade do projeto corresponderá a 2,01 € por unidade de capital investid
Anti-SARS-CoV-2 inactivated vaccine in patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis: Immunogenicity, safety, antibody decay and the booster dose
Objective: To evaluate inactivated CoronaVac prime vaccination, antibody decay, booster dose, and safety in ANCA-Associated Vasculitis (AAV) patients.
Methods: Fifty-three AAV patients and 106 Controls (CG) received CoronaVac on days: D0 (first dose), D28(second dose), and D210 (booster dose, 32 AAV: 32 CG). The primary outcome was immunogenicity after the second vaccine dose (day 69) assessed by Seroconversion Rates (SC) of anti-SARS-CoV-2 S1/S2 IgG and Neutralizing Antibodies (NAb). Secondary outcomes were safety, immunogenicity (D28/D240), 6-months antibody decay (D210) and the booster dose response (D240).
Results: At D69 SC (65.1% vs. 96.8%, p = 0.0001), GMT (21.3 UA/mL vs. 67.7 UA/mL, p < 0.001) and NAb- positivity (53.7% vs. 80.6%, p = 0.001) were moderate but lower in naïve-AAV patients than CG. Patients without SC used more often IS (93.3% vs. 53.3%, p = 0.015), mycophenolate mofetil (20% vs. 0%, p = 0.037) and prednisone (60.0% vs. 28.6%, p = 0.057) than seroconverted. NAb negativity in AAV patients was associated with prednisone treatment (57.9% vs. 18.2%, p = 0.015) and IS (84.2% vs. 55.0%, p = 0.046). Logistic regression analysis models showed that only prednisone was associated with lower seroconversion (OR = 0.2, 0,95% CI 0.05‒0.86, p = 0.030) and with lower NAb positivity (OR = 0.2, 0,95% CI 0.05‒0.88, p = 0.034). After six months (D69‒D210) a decrease in IgG positivity occurred in 32 AAV patients (15.7%, p = 0.074) and 32 CG (18.7%, p = 0.041). For the NAb positivity, the 6-month decrease was not significant (p = 0.114) whereas a major reduction occurred for CG (p < 0.001). A booster dose (D240) resulted in an increment in IgG-positivity (21.9%, p = 0.023) and NAb-positivity (34.4%, p = 0.006) in AAV patients. No moderate/severe adverse events attributable to the vaccine were observed.
Conclusion: This study provides novel data on the excellent safety and moderate immunogenicity of CoronaVac in AAV patients. A six-month mild antibody waning was observed with a good response to the booster dose, although levels remained lower than CG (CoronavRheum-NCT04754698)
RECONSTRUÇÃO COM PRÓTESE BUCOMAXILOFACIAL EM PACIENTES ONCOLÓGICOS: SUA IMPORTÂNCIA NA ODONTOLOGIA
Facial maxillofacial prosthesis (P.B.M.F) is a specialty of dentistry responsible for oral, facial and functional rehabilitation with extraoral and intraoralintraoral prostheses of patients with maxillofacial defects. The shortage of specialized professionals is critical, as during the treatment of a malignant neoplasm, loss of facial structure may occur, where the specialized professional has the possibility of prosthetically rehabilitating the lost part, be it the eyeball, oculopalpebral, auricular, nasal, palate obturator aimed at improving the patient's self-esteem and social reintegration. Contact with the discipline is important for the evolution of the specialty, as well as the interest of undergraduates and students. P.B.M.F plays an important role in the social reintegration of a patient mutilated by oral neoplasia today. The advancement of aesthetic dentistry came with the need to enhance a more beautiful, harmonious and younger appearance of a patient who meets beauty standards. On the other hand, the patient with the loss of part of the face he fought for, with a diagnosis that threatened his life, seeks to become inconspicuous in the crowd. The objective of this work is to carry out a literature review exposing the need for professionals and academics to contact the P.B.M.F. and the types of prostheses used. The methodology was based on data taken from the Scielo, Pubmed and Google Scholar platforms over the last 10 years, with articles found that were mostly case reports. Maxillofacial prosthesis is a branch of dental prosthesis associated with the restoration and/or replacement of stomatognathic and craniofacial structures with prostheses, which may or may not be removed regularly or electively.

Pervasive gaps in Amazonian ecological research
Biodiversity loss is one of the main challenges of our time,1,2 and attempts to address it require a clear un derstanding of how ecological communities respond to environmental change across time and space.3,4
While the increasing availability of global databases on ecological communities has advanced our knowledge
of biodiversity sensitivity to environmental changes,5–7 vast areas of the tropics remain understudied.8–11 In
the American tropics, Amazonia stands out as the world’s most diverse rainforest and the primary source of
Neotropical biodiversity,12 but it remains among the least known forests in America and is often underrepre sented in biodiversity databases.13–15 To worsen this situation, human-induced modifications16,17 may elim inate pieces of the Amazon’s biodiversity puzzle before we can use them to understand how ecological com munities are responding. To increase generalization and applicability of biodiversity knowledge,18,19 it is thus
crucial to reduce biases in ecological research, particularly in regions projected to face the most pronounced
environmental changes. We integrate ecological community metadata of 7,694 sampling sites for multiple or ganism groups in a machine learning model framework to map the research probability across the Brazilian
Amazonia, while identifying the region’s vulnerability to environmental change. 15%–18% of the most ne glected areas in ecological research are expected to experience severe climate or land use changes by
2050. This means that unless we take immediate action, we will not be able to establish their current status,
much less monitor how it is changing and what is being lostinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Mitochondrial physiology
As the knowledge base and importance of mitochondrial physiology to evolution, health and disease expands, the necessity for harmonizing the terminology concerning mitochondrial respiratory states and rates has become increasingly apparent. The chemiosmotic theory establishes the mechanism of energy transformation and coupling in oxidative phosphorylation. The unifying concept of the protonmotive force provides the framework for developing a consistent theoretical foundation of mitochondrial physiology and bioenergetics. We follow the latest SI guidelines and those of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) on terminology in physical chemistry, extended by considerations of open systems and thermodynamics of irreversible processes. The concept-driven constructive terminology incorporates the meaning of each quantity and aligns concepts and symbols with the nomenclature of classical bioenergetics. We endeavour to provide a balanced view of mitochondrial respiratory control and a critical discussion on reporting data of mitochondrial respiration in terms of metabolic flows and fluxes. Uniform standards for evaluation of respiratory states and rates will ultimately contribute to reproducibility between laboratories and thus support the development of data repositories of mitochondrial respiratory function in species, tissues, and cells. Clarity of concept and consistency of nomenclature facilitate effective transdisciplinary communication, education, and ultimately further discovery
