The Philosophy Teaching Assessment System and Its Enlightenments of British Universities
As a basic element of the university teaching quality monitoring, teaching assessment has become an indispensable part of university teaching management. Only by ensuring its effectiveness can teach assessment promote university teaching quality. As a basic discipline in the UK higher education, philosophy is the investigation of those very general and fundamental questions which are about about knowledge, reality, mind, morality, logic, language, reasoning, politics art, and value, and these question have drawn attention, The University of Oxford and University of Cambridge are the two most well-known university which are called the âcrownâ of UK higher education. This paper mainly takes Oxford and Cambridge as the cases of study, which is based on the two external and internal quality assurance systems of UK higher education, The study sums up the commonalities and  particularities of standards for the philosophy teaching assessment of the two British universities and analyzes the organization and implementation, aiming to obtain a deeper understanding of it, and points out its enlightenments for the quality assessment of higher education in China.
A Study on the Curriculum Setting and Characteristics of the Undergraduate Philosophy Major at Oxford University
The philosophy faculty at Oxford University is ancient and stately, with profound cultural background and a good tradition of philosophical concept of education and training target, which influences the philosophical education in Britain and even in the whole world. By cultivating the studentsâ ability of reading, logical thinking and critical thinking, it encourages students to correctly understand the world and use the knowledge effectively to solve various practical problems. This article tries to sort out the development of undergraduatesâ education of philosophy at Oxford University, to analyze the curriculum setting of philosophy in the latest ten years, and to summarize the characteristics of philosophy education
Exploring the Paths for the Popularization of Marxism With New Media in China
The popularization of Marxism is a major political and academic topic in China. It has attracted a lot of Chinese scholarsâ attention in recent years because of its association with the stability of the Chinese society, the establishment of harmonious society in China, and the construction of the Chinese core values and belief of its people. The new social media of Internet and mobile technology have played important roles in the popularization of Marxism and become the dominant position in promoting it. This paper explores the popularization and dissemination processes of Marxism in China and the various ways of being utilized to popularize Marxism with new media
Growth of Large Domain Epitaxial Graphene on the C-Face of SiC
Growth of epitaxial graphene on the C-face of SiC has been investigated.
Using a confinement controlled sublimation (CCS) method, we have achieved well
controlled growth and been able to observe propagation of uniform monolayer
graphene. Surface patterns uncover two important aspects of the growth, i.e.
carbon diffusion and stoichiometric requirement. Moreover, a new "stepdown"
growth mode has been discovered. Via this mode, monolayer graphene domains can
have an area of hundreds of square micrometers, while, most importantly, step
bunching is avoided and the initial uniformly stepped SiC surface is preserved.
The stepdown growth provides a possible route towards uniform epitaxial
graphene in wafer size without compromising the initial flat surface morphology
of SiC.Comment: 18 pages, 8 figure
The Exploration of Philosophy Teaching Organization Form at Oxford University
Philosophy educational goals of Oxford University are that by reading and training regularly to enlighten studentsâ mind, cultivate their reading ability, critical thinking and logical thinking ability, etc.. At Oxford University, cultivating studentsâ ability depends on rich teaching organizational forms. Teaching organizational forms affects the teaching quality and efficiency directly, and relates to the realization of educational objectives. Oxford University philosophy teaching takes various teaching organizational forms, which are lectures, tutorial system, seminars and presentations. These teaching organizational forms not only make Oxford University achieve its educational goals, but also become its features enjoying a worldwide reputation. This paper attempts to elaborate and analyze the four teaching organizational forms, to grasp its specific implementation process, characteristics as well as values, and to reflect on its enlightenments for Chinese university teaching organizational forms
The Study on the Curriculum Setting and Characteristics of Cambridge Undergraduate Philosophy Major
Education of philosophy is both an old and new topic. It is an important approach for human thoughts propagation and theoretical studies. At theUniversityofCambridge, philosophy teaching and learning activities have been existed for 804 years, born at the same time with the university. . This thesis aims to examine the developmental process  of philosophy education at the undergraduate level,, to  investigate the curriculum of philosophy education of the latest ten years, and to summarize the characteristics of philosophy education  at the University of Cambridge
Evolution of the tetragonal to rhombohedral transition in (1 â x)(Bi1/2Na1/2)TiO3 â xBaTiO3 (x †7%)
(1 â x)(Bi1/2Na1/2)TiO3 â xBaTiO3 has been the most studied Pb-free piezoelectric material in the last decade; however, puzzles still remain about its phase transitions, especially around the important morphotropic phase boundary (MPB). By introducing the strain glass transition concept from the ferroelastic field, it was found that the phase transition from tetragonal (T, P4bm) to rhombohedral (R, R3c) was affected by a strain glass transition at higher temperature for x â„ 4%. In these compositions, the TâR transition was delayed or even totally suppressed and displayed huge thermal hysteresis upon cooling and heating. Also, isothermal phase transitions were predicted and realized successfully in the crossover region, where the interaction between the TâR transition and the strain glass transition was strong. Our results revealed the strain glass nature in compositions around the MPB in this important material, and also provide new clues for understanding the transition complexity in other (Bi1/2Na1/2)TiO3-based Pb-free piezoelectric materials
Accelerated quantum adiabatic transfer in superconducting qubits
Quantum adiabatic transfer is widely used in quantum computation and quantum
simulation. However, the transfer speed is limited by the quantum adiabatic
approximation condition, which hinders its application in quantum systems with
a short decoherence time. Here we demonstrate quantum adiabatic state transfers
that jump along geodesics in one-qubit and two-qubit superconducting transmons.
This approach possesses the advantages of speed, robustness, and high fidelity
compared with the usual adiabatic process. Our protocol provides feasible
strategies for improving state manipulation and gate operation in
superconducting quantum circuits
Report on the diagnosis and treatment of 3 cases of emphysematous pyelonephritis with two different outcomes
BackgroundEmphysematous pyelonephritis (EPN) is a rare acute severe necrotising infection of the kidneys in clinical practice. It is characterized by the presence of gas in the renal parenchyma, collecting system, or perirenal tissue. The prognosis is poor, with a high nephrectomy rate and a mortality rate of up to 20â40%.MethodsRetrospective analysis of 3 cases of emphysematous pyelonephritis with two different outcomes.ResultsThree patients who we described were all female with diabetes mellitus, and their blood sugar was poorly controlled. One patient with the advanced age and poor general health died due to the patientâs family choosing to terminate therapy. Two patients underwent surgical procedures achieved an excellent clinical recovery. Both of them underwent percutaneous nephrostomy and perinephric abscess puncture drainage before nephrectomy. Escherichia coli were the microorganisms implicated.ConclusionEPN is a rare and severe urinary system infection. Computed tomography (CT) and microbiological culture confirmed the diagnosis. Control of diabetes, sensitive antibiotic therapy, fluid resuscitation and prompt surgical intervention are crucial
