This study is a description of the current state of the Indonesian language in an era of transfer of science, technology, and culture. In the process of growing, the language is showing a number of effects in its development as well as in people’s attitude towards the language, which, in turn equally affects the language growth. The availability of sophisticated products of science and technology enables people, even in the most remote places, to gain access to the latest information and data in the shortest possible time. The above situation prompts the writer to attempt to demonstrate consequences in the development of the language as well as people’s attitude in its daily use

AN ANALYSIS OF COHERENCE AND COHESION ON THE STUDENTS’ DESCRIPTIVE WRITING AT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN CIREBON

Abstract: This study aimed to find out the usage of coherence and cohesion on the Students’ Descriptive Texts, especially in ten grader students at state senior high school in Cirebon. This study adopted thematic progression analysis to explore coherence in the students’ Descriptive text. This study was a qualitative study that used content analysis. The technique of collecting data was documentation from 46 students writing descriptive texts. The procedures were firstly collecting data, analyzing data, presenting data, and concluding the result of the study. Based on the analyzed data,1) 46 students’ writing descriptive text had grown the writing as the series of the stage in the descriptive text, using Identification and Description. Then, in analyzing coherence 2) 76% students got the coherence level is good, there are 19% in Fair, there are 2% in Less and 3% in Poor and in analyzing cohesion 3) there are 1052 cohesion markers that consist of 852 findings markers of grammatical cohesion (596 findings markers reference and 256 markers conjunction) and 200 markers of lexical cohesion (200 markers repetition).Keywords: series of stage, coherence, cohesio

THE INFLUENCE OF STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION ON SCHOOL INVIRONMENT AND PARENTING STYLE TOWARDS ENGLISH LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT

Abstract: effects of  students perception for school evironment and parenting toward english academic achievement.  The expanatory survey method was aimed at describing the effects of students perception of students for school environment and parenting toward english academic achievement. From the population of all the students of Governmet Junior High Schools  in Citeureup Bogor Jawa Barat (820 people), a sampel of 90  students were randomly selected. The data were collected using a questionnaire and then  analyzed statistically using regretion SPSS 22.0 analyses. Penelitian mengunakan metode survey, dengan populasi siswa SMP Negeri di Citeureup kabupaten Bogor Jawa Barat. Dengan teknik sampling acak proporsional dipreroleh sampel sebesar 90 orang. Unsur-Unsur Sejarah dan Nilai Pendidikan Karakter dalam Kumpulan Cerpen Teh dan Pengkhianat Karya Iksaka Banu

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan unsur-unsur sejarah dan nilai pendidikan karakter dalam kumpulan cerpen “Teh dan Pengkhianat” karya Iksaka Banu. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan untuk menganalisis kumpulan cerpen ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan struktural. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik baca dan catat. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan: 1) Unsur sejarah yang ditampilkan dalam kumpulan cerpen “Teh dan Pengkhianat” karya Iksaka  Banu dikelompokkan menjadi tiga, yaitu peritiwa sejarah 67%, tokoh sejarah 20% dan waktu sejarah 13%. 2) Nilai pendidikan karakter yang ditampilkan dalam kumpulan cerpen “Teh dan Pengkhianat” karya Iksaka Banu terdapat 13 jenis nilai pendidikan karakter dengan jumlah data 25. Kata Kunci: Unsur-unsur sejarah, Nilai Pendidikan Karakter, Teh dan Pengkhiana

The Meaning of Survival in the Poetry of Jacob Isaac, and its Semantics Learning Implementation

The social, political, and economy atmosphere of a country often evokes the desire of literary activists to express their imagination, feelings, ideology in the form of social, political and cultural criticism through art, including poetry. Likewise, Jacob Isaac, a Bachelor and Master of Arts, as well as Doctor of English Literature, who was born in Kerala, South India, expresses imagination, feelings, ideology by creating the English poetry. In this research, the research writer chose three poetry written by Jacob Isaac as data sources entitled Indifference, Neural Mapping, Aging Liberty. The objective of this research is to describe the meaning of (1) survival in the above poetry; and (2) its implementation in English semantics learning. The research writer uses a qualitative research method and triadic semiotic model of Charles Sanders Peirce, consists of (1) representamen consists of rhyme form and sound, syntactic, semantic, pragmatic relates to deixis, figurative and isotopy aspects); (2) interpretant consists of the biography of Jacob Isaac, history of India, social, political and cultural background aspects). The goal using interpretant is in order to get the research results more objective. This research was conducted from March to May 2021

REALISM AND OPTIMISM IN THE NOVEL A GOLDEN WEB KISAH AHLI ANATOMI PEREMPUAN PERTAMA DI DUNIA

The purpose of this paper is to describe the problems in the patriarchal society and prove the optimistic realism contained in the novel “A Golden Web” by Barbara Quick and how female characters were portrayed in the 18th century. The method to analyze the novel is content analysis and literature review from books and theories related to the novel and historical records. Using a new criticism approach, this paper examines the intrinsic elements of the story. The writer studies the elements through characters and characterizations using descriptive-analytical structures. The paper ends with descriptions of character and characterization, optimism realism, and how female characters in the 18th-century novel’ contained can be revealed.Keywords: realism; patriarchy; optimism; new criticis

Benturan Ideologis dalam Novel Perempuan Bersampur Merah Karya Intan Andaru

The research aims to analyze the ideological clash in the Perempuan Bersampur Merah novel created by Intan Andaru through characters and sacrifices and background. The research Approach use qualitative approach to describe shape, impact, and exploitation ideology through figures and characterization in social group. The research method is used bibliography method. To analyze novel’s elements Intrinsic use Charles Morris semiotic structure approach, An Analysis Discourse Critical model Norman Fairclough is used to analyze novel’s elements extrinsic. Based on the research results, The flow of Perempuan Bersampur Merah novel was jumping not sequentially with chronological event. Plot framed with event from the past. Character main is Sari. Theme is about human feeling. Room and Time relate with events in Banyuwangi in 1998. THE CHARACTER AND MORAL VALUES IN THE MOVIE ‘WONDER’ BY STEPHEN CHBOSKY

This research aims to analyze the characters and moral values in the “Wonder” movie by Stephen Chbosky. The method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative which aims to describe the character and moral values in the Wonder” movie. Data obtained, analyzed, and explained based on dialogue data contained in the movie protagonist, antagonist, secondary, extras, round dan flat, and based on moral values: commitment to something greater than oneself, self-respect but with humility, self-discipline, and acceptance of personal responsibility, respect and caring for others, caring for other living things an environment. This shows the moral Value that dominates and wants to be conveyed is the Value of caring for others

Pengaruh Metode Pembelajaran Circuit Learning dan Penguasaan Diksi Terhadap Kemampuan Menulis Puisi (Eksperimen Pada SMA Swasta Di Kabupaten Bekasi)

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran circuit learning dan pwnguasaan dikisi terhadap kemampuan menulis puisi.  Pada penelitian ini akan memfokuskan seberapa pengaruhnya metede pembelajaran circuit learning berbantu media video animasi dan seberapa berpengaruhnya penguasaan diksi terhadap kemampuan menulis puisi. Merode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Quasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA AL Binaa IBS, SMA Bina Negara, dan SMA Tunas Bangsa di Kabupaten Bekasi. Sampel dalam penelitian inimenggunakan random samp;ong. Pengujian hipotesis dengan ANOVA 2  arah. Hasil penelitian menunujukan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan metode pembelajaran circuit learning berbantu media video animasi terhadap kemampuan menulis puisi, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penguasaan diksi terhadap kemampuan menulis puisi, serta jikalau metode circuit learning berbantu media video animasi di terapkan kepada siswa yang mempunyai penguasaan diksi yang tinggi, maka metode circuit learning akan berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis anak
