Synthesis and characteristics of carbon nanotube using plasma arc discharge

    Get PDF
Carbon nanoparticles (CNP) were synthesized in arc plasma discharge using a simple, low-cost and toxic-free precursor gas. The structural and electrical characteristics were examined. SEM image showed existence of a high density and uniform nanostructures within the cylindrical bulk CNP tube. The tube diameter and its length was 28.5 μm and 316.7 μm, respectively. The average diameter of the nanoparticles grown in the tube was 600 nm. The electrical characteristics revealed low resistance with R = 7.23 kΩ with Cu electrodes. In addition, the device exhibited a high conductivity of 3.6 x 107 Scm-1. These results indicate the potential of CNP material for power device applications

Concomitant Anomalous Branching of Facial Nerve and Double Parotid Duct: A Case Report

    Get PDF
The facial nerve divides within the parotid gland into upper temporozygomatic and lower cervicofacial branches. The two branches further subdivide and emerge from the parotid gland as five main branches. We observed a rare anomalous branching pattern of the facial nerve along with double parotid duct on the right side of a 50-year-old male cadaver. The two parotid ducts emerged at the level of the anterior border of parotid gland then united to form one single duct thereby opened into the oral cavity. The first duct (D1) emerged from the upper one third of the anterior border of the parotid gland and traversed horizontally for 9 mm to join the second duct. Knowledge of anomalous branching pattern of facial nerve and double parotid ducts may be beneficial for maxillofacial surgeons

3D simulation investigating ZnO NWFET characteristics

    Get PDF
3D Simulation was carried out and compared with fabricated ZnO NWFET. The device had the following electrical output characteristics: mobility value of 10.0 cm2 /Vs at a drain voltage of 1.0 V, threshold voltage of 24 V, and subthreshold slope (SS) of 1500 mV/decade. The simulation showed that the device output results are influenced by two main issues: (i) contact resistance (Rcon ≈ 11.3 MΩ) and (ii) interface state trapped charge number density (QIT = 3.79 x 1015 cm-2). The QIT was derived from the Gaussian distribution that depends on two parameters added together. These parameters are: an acceptor-like exponential band tail function gGA(E) and an acceptor-like Gaussian deep state function gTA(E). By de-embedding the contact resistance, the simulation is able to improve the device by producing excellent field effect mobility of 126.9 cm2 /Vs

Macroeconomic Variables Influence on Stock Market Performance

    Get PDF
Investors should consider stock market performance when making an investment decision. Both economic and non-economic factors influence the stock market's performance. Previous research, primarily from developed markets, has revealed that macroeconomic factors significantly impact stock returns. Economic forces are used in this paper to investigate the significant relationship between selected macroeconomic variables, the Malaysian stock return index for the financial sector, and the Bursa Malaysia Finance Services Index. The macroeconomic variables examined are inflation (INF), money supply (M.S.) and the real effective exchange rate (REER). This study's sample consists of 164 time-series observations. The observations are annual secondary data obtained from the World Bank, Index Mundi, and the Malaysian Bureau of Statistics from January 1979 to December 2019. Several regression analyses and econometric tests were performed with the interactive software package E-Views 11. The findings of this research paper provide an initial overview and can serve as a valuable foundation for investors' and policymakers' respective investment strategies and policies

Effect of chemical treatment on the tensile properties of single oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) fibre

    Get PDF
A study on effect of chemical treatment on the tensile modulus and strength of single oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) fibre is presented in this paper. The fibres were treated with alkaline treatment using sodium hydroxide of 5% concentration. Tensile test were conducted in accordance to the ASTM C1557. Results revealed that the tensile modulus of the treated fibres decreases by around 55% as compared to the untreated fibres. Tensile strength on the other hand increases by around 25% with the alkaline treatment. The tensile strength was found to be dependent on the fibre diameter where the strength decreases with the increases in fiber diameter at fracture. SEM revealed higher porosity at larger fibre diameter which contributed to the degradation of the fibre tensile strength. No significant impact by the alkaline treatment was observed to the tensile strain of the fibre

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C23H17F3N2O2, contains two molecules. In one of the molecules, the phenyl and triflouromethyl-substituted benzene rings form dihedral angles of 52.05 (8) and 33.70 (8)°, respectively, with the benzimidazole ring system, while the dihedral angle between them is 58.24 (10)°. The corresponding values in the other molecule are 58.40 (8), 25.90 (8) and 60.83 (10)°, respectively. In the crystal, molecules are linked into chains along [100] by C—H⋯O and C—H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Aromatic π–π stacking interactions [centroid–centroid distance = 3.6700 (12) Å] also occur
