Correlation among QPO frequencies and Quiescence-state Duration in Black Hole Candidate GRS 1915+105

We discover a definite correlation between the frequency of the quasi-periodic oscillations (QPO) in quiescence states and the duration of the quiescence state of the transient X-ray source GRS 1915+105. We find that while the QPO frequency can be explained with the oscillation of shocks in accretion flows, the switching of burst to quiescence states (and vice versa) and their duration can be explained by assuming an outflow from the post-shock region. The duration of the quiescence state is inversely related to the QPO-frequency. We derive this relation. We also find the correlation between the observed low (0.0010.01\sim 0.001-0.01Hz) and the intermediate (1-10Hz) QPO frequencies. Our analytical solutions are verified by analyzing several days of public-domain data from RXTE.Comment: Latex, 13 pages with 3 figures; Accepted for Publication in Astrophysical Journal Letter

Study of visual evoked potential (VEP) is one of the utilized methods in clinical diagnosis of ophthalmology and neurological disorders. The automatic detection of VEP spectral components is an important tool in the diagnosis of mental activity. This paper presents a novel computational approach using feedforward neural network to identify abnormal subjects from changes in spectral components. The output vector from the feedforward neural network is based on the VEP spectral components. The software was developed to identify mental state from the VEP spectral components using Matlab software package. Using this approach, it is possible to perform real-time abnormality identification accurately on personal computers

Objective: In the present study, a novel series of 1, 3, 4-thiadiazole derivatives were docked against the mycobacterium tuberculosis protein kinase G. 1, 3, 4–thiadiazole derivatives with a modified primary amine group at 5th position were used for docking studies. Methods: The three-dimensional structure of the protein was obtained from PDB, and its active sites were predicted. The structures of all the compounds were drawn using chemdraw software version 8.0. The docking studies were done by using schrödinger software against the enzyme protein kinase G. Totally eighteen compounds was synthesized based on glide score Results: In this Docking study the thiadiazole analogues were showing good binding energy. The amino acids residues GLU588, SER412, GLY410 and GLU 628 in the kinase domain active site form hydrogen bonds with the ligand. Conclusion: The compounds D34, D16, D7, D25, D15, and D27 showed better interaction with protein kinase G (pknG) more than the other drug molecule

The complimentary role of organics as supplements to chemical fertilizers is important for keeping the soil healthy in order to harness the potential yield in rice. Therefore, a field experiment was carried out during the cropping year of 2020-2021 to ascertain the impact of inorganic and organic source fertilizers integration on rice production's yield and its economics in Cauvery deltaic region of Tamil Nadu. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replications. The experiment comprised of eight treatments viz.,  T1 - RDF + 12.5 t FYM ( Farmer's practice), T2 - Vermicompost @ 5 t/ha + RDF, T3 - Coirpith compost @ 5 t/ha + RDF, T4  - Pressmud compost @ 5 t/ha + RDF, T5  - Poultry manure compost @ 5 t/ha + RDF, T6  - Goat manure compost @ 5 t/ha + RDF, T7 - Bone sludge compost @ 5 t/ha + RDF and T8 - Sewage sludge compost @ 5 t/ha + RDF was applied to see the effect of integration of both organic and inorganic sources of fertilizers on the yield and economics of rice (CR1009) cultivation. The present study's findings showed that the integrative application of vermicompost @ 5t ha-1 along with 100 per cent recommended dose of fertilizers (T2)  excelled all treatments and gave significantly increased grain yield of 5792 kg ha-¹  with a value of 37 per cent over control and benefit-cost ratio of 3.45. The integrated application of Vermicompost @ 5tha-1 along with 100 per cent recommended dose of NPK registered the highest values in yield attributes, yield and economic returns in rice

ON SINGLE OBJECTIVE LINEAR MODEL IN CONTROLLING COMMUNICABLE DISEASES BASED ON FUZZY LINEAR PROGRAMMING PROBLEM

Fuzzy Single objective optimization is the process of optimizing systematically and simultaneously a collection of objective functions with fuzzy variable. In this paper, fuzzy single objective linear model is developed based on fuzzy linear programming to minimize the overall treatment cost, curing time and dosage of medicine by distributing the various treatments to the disease population in order to minimize the human productivity loss. This model will help to the health department in controlling the communicable diseases with minimum cost, time and dosage of medicine

Vehicle Speed Measurement and Number Plate Detection using Real Time Embedded System

    Get PDF
A real time system is proposed to detect moving vehicles that violate the speed limit. A dedicated digital signal processing chip is used to exploit computationally inexpensive image-processing techniques over the video sequence captured from the fixed position video camera for estimating the speed of the moving vehicles. The moving vehicles are detected by analysing the binary image sequences that are constructed from the captured frames by employing the inter-frame difference or the background subtraction techniques. The detected moving vehicles are tracked to estimate their speeds. This project deals with the tracking and following of single object in a sequence of frames and the velocity of the object is determined. The proposed method varies from previous existing methods in tracking moving objects, velocity determination and number plate detection. From the binary image generated, the moving vehicle is tracked using image segmentation of the video frames. The segmentation process is done by using the thresholding and morphological operations on the video frames. The object is visualized and its centroid is calculated. The distance it moved between frame to frame is stored and using this velocity is calculated with the frame rate of video. The images of the speeding vehicles are further analysed to detect license plate image regions. The entire simulation is done in matlab and simulink simulation software. Keywords:morphological;thresholding;segmentation;centroi
