Chaotic Accelerationand X-ray Emission of Electrons in an Electron Cyclotron Wave Plasma
Chaotic acceleration of electrons interacting with electron cyclotron wave is observed in the presence of weak inhomogeneity (mirror field) in static magnetic field. The dependence of soft X-ray emission rate on mirror ratio and input microwave power is examined near the onset of emission. The radial profile of soft X-ray intensity is also given, showing a slightly hollow shape
