    SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS AND COGNITIVE LEARNING OUTCOMES THROUGH DISCOVERY LEARNING MODELS

    This research focused on finding out whether the science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes through discovery learning is higher than the conventional learning model in the VII grade students of State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 2 in Jeneponto. The population of this research was the VII grade students of State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) in Jeneponto which consist of 5 classes. The population was composed by 160 students and the sample was taken by using random sampling. Descriptive analysis technique was used in processing the data to describe the science process skills and student learning outcomes. The inferential analysis technique was also used to test the research hypothesis. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found that the average science process skills and learning outcomes of students who were taught by using the Discovery Learning model were in the high category. While the average value of science process skills and learning outcomes of students who are taught by using conventional models are in the medium category. The results of the inferential analysis showed that there is an influence of the Discovery Learning learning model on the science process skills and the learning outcomes of the VII grade students of Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 2 in Jeneponto at a significant level α = 0.05.  Article visualizations

    Description of Numeracy Literacy Skills in Science Learning

    This research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach with a survey method to describe the numeracy literacy skills of each question answered by 7th grade students of SMP IT wahdah islamiyah Makassar. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of numeracy literacy skills of 8th grade students at SMP IT Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar. The population of this study were all 8th grade students at SMP IT Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar consisting of 3 classes with a total of 89 students. The sample was selected using saturated sampling technique so that the determination of the sample when all members of the population were used as samples and the number of research samples was 89 students. The research instrument is a numeracy literacy test instrument totaling 14 questions. The data collection technique is by giving tests directly. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the level of numeracy literacy skills of students has an average value of 30.34 fsn is in the low category

    ABSTRACT Smart hafiz is an audio-visual learning media that can be used to improve the ability to memorize the Al-Qur\u27an for young children. This research aims to determine the effect of smart hafiz on increasing the ability to memorize the Al-Qur\u27an for young children in Al-Wildan kindergarten, Makassar city. This research uses quantitative experimental methods. True experiments pre-test post-test control group design research design , with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, tests and documentation. The sampling technique uses probability sampling, simple random sampling. The research results obtained from the wilcoxon test showed that the asymp sig (2-tailed) .000 < 0.05 in the experimental group and the asymp sig (2-tailed), 001 < 0.05 in the control group, meaning that there was a significant influence on the use of smart hafiz towards increasing the ability to memorize the Al-Qur\u27an for early childhood in Al-Wildan kindergarten, Makassar city

    Penerapan Model Differentiated Science Inquiry (DSI) untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains dan Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik di SMP

    Perbedaan individu peserta didik membutuhkan perlakuan yang berbeda sesuai kebutuhan dan kemampuan awal peserta didik. Namun proses pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru dan belum pernah dilatihkannya keterampilan proses sains menyebabkan peserta didik kurang aktif dan berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, pemilihan inovasi pembelajaran penting dalam meciptakan proses pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik dan memperoleh perlakuan sesuai kemampuan awalnya. Salah satunya dengan menerapkan model Differentiated Science Inquiry (DSI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu pra-eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 1 Bajeng Barat. Pengambilan sampel melalui teknik random sampling yaitu kelas VIII.A sebanyak 30 peserta didik. Instrumen penelitian keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar berupa tes pilihan ganda masing-masing sebanyak 20 soal. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan pretest dan posttest. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skor rata-rata N-gain keterampilan proses sains sebesar 0,50 dan hasil belajar sebesar 0,58 setelah penerapan model DSI berada pada kategori sedang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan skor rata-rata yang signifikan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 1 Bajeng Barat sebelum dan setelah penerapan model pembelajaran Differentiated Science Inquiry (DSI)

    Differences in learners’ critical thinking by ability level in conventional, NHT, PBL, and integrated NHT-PBL classrooms

    This study aimed to analyze the effect of conventional, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Numbered-Head Together (NHT), and integrated PBL-NHT learning models on the low- and high-ability students’ critical thinking. This quasi-experimental study used a pretest-post-test nonequivalent control group design with a four-by-two factorial pattern. The analysis results showed that learners’ critical thinking was impacted by learning models implemented in the classroom and influenced by the interaction between the learning models and learners’ academic abilities. There was no difference in critical thinking among low-ability students who were taught with PBL, conventional, and integrated PBL-NHT, but a difference was found in students taught using NHT. There was no difference in critical thinking between high-ability students taught with conventional and NHT instruction, but there was a difference between students taught with PBL and integrated PBL-NHT instruction. To foster critical thinking, pupils with low academic ability should be taught using NHT, whereas those with high academic ability should be taught using PBL or an integrated PBL-NHT approach

    Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan lembar project peserta didik berbasis science environment technology and creativity (scientechvity) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pemanfaatan lingkungan baik di dalam sekolah dan di luar sekolah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) model Dick and Carey dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey, observasi dan lembar pengamatan keterampilan pemanfaatan lingkungan. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik yang ada di beberapa sekolah di kota Makassar dan kabupaten Gowa yaitu SMP IT Al-Biruni Mandiri Karantina, SMP Islam IT Al-Azhar 24 Makassar, SMP Nasional, SMP Kristen Kalam Kudus, dan SMPN 4 Sungguminasa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Random Sampling dalam menetapkan kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Teknik analisis data ini menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Penelitian ini menghasilkan: (1) Produk baru mengenai lembar project peserta didik berbasis Science Environment Technology and Creativity (Scientechvity), (2) Strategi dan model pembelajaran pemanfaatan lingkungan, dan (3) Peningkatan keterampilan pemanfaatan lingkungan peserta didik baik di dalam dan luar sekolah

    Ureng village has the high biodiversity. One of which them are many groups of Lichen. This research aims was to determine the diversity of lichenes species and the diversity of thallus lichenes form in nutmeg, clove, and cocoa coffee plantation of Ureng Village. The research was done in clove, cocoa, and nutmeg of Ureng Village, Leihitu District, Maluku. The method this research was exploration method and sampling using purposive method. Lichen specimen founded was identification at MIPA IAIN Ambon Laboratory. The results this research were founded 53 species, including 19 familia. Twenty seven species lichen were found in the clove tree, 19 species are found ini the cocoa tree, 16 species found in the nutmeg tree, and 2 species found in all three trees. The results showed that the crustose type was the type of thallus lichenes that most commonly found in these plantations
