Estudio preliminar de la aplicación de varias técnicas de comunicación en diseños circulares
Comunicació presentada al 23rd International Congress on Project Management and Engineering (Málaga, 10-12 July 2019).An effective Circular Economy strategy comprises demonstrate practical application, by including real life examples and emphasizing with data and facts. The communication strategy is addressed during the design process and designers have to think about the product/service and about how communicating it. To reach a broader impact, techniques like creative storytelling or educational messages are needed. This work aims to know the ease or difficulty for industrial design engineering students in the application of these techniques to effectively communicate the advantages of a design based in the Circular Economy. To address this, a workshop has been done to explain basic notions about circular economy and consumptions patterns and trends. Then, communication techniques were explained, using examples. The workshop proceeded asking the students to apply these techniques for emphasizing the advantages of a circular product, working in groups. Finally, a questionnaire was passed to evaluate their opinion about the communication techniques applied. At the end, a debate was conducted about their perception about the importance of communication in designs based in circular economy.Una estrategia de EconomÃa Circular efectiva requiere mostrar aplicación práctica, incluyendo ejemplos de la vida real y enfatizando con datos y hechos. La estrategia de comunicación se aborda durante el proceso de diseño y los diseñadores deben pensar en el producto/servicio y en cómo comunicarlo. Para conseguir un mayor impacto, es necesaria la aplicación de técnicas como narración creativa de historias o los mensajes educativos. Este trabajo pretende conocer la facilidad o dificultad que tienen estudiantes de ingenierÃa en diseño industrial en aplicar estas técnicas para comunicar de forma efectiva las ventajas de un diseño basado en la economÃa circular. Para ello, se ha programado un taller en el que se introdujo la economÃa circular y los patrones de consumo y tendencias de mercado relacionados con ésta. Después se les explicaron las técnicas de comunicación, mostrando un ejemplo. A continuación, se les ha pedido que apliquen, trabajando en grupo, cada técnica de comunicación para enfatizar las ventajas de un producto circular. Finalmente, se les pasó un cuestionario de evaluación sobre su opinión acerca de las técnicas de comunicación aplicadas. También se debatió sobre su percepción en cuanto a la importancia de la comunicación en diseños basados en la economÃa circular
Evaluation of operational changes in Norwegian hydropower
Around 98% of the energy in Norway comes from renewable sources and from this, 96% corresponds to hydropower, which has made it a central point in Norwegian water management. The growing interest in implementing an appropriate water regulation, relicensing existent power plants and the protection of biodiversity has increased the focus on environmental management. In addition, hydropower plays a very important role the mix of renewables as a balance for the intermittency that implies the implementation of solar and wind energies.
In 1991 a new energy law was passed in Norway that allowed trading of electricity in the market. This increased the incentives to adapt production to high prices in order to maximize revenue, which was different to the original strategies of national demand coverage that was the objective before the new regulation. From this moment, markets opened up to competition and the possibility of including different parts in the commercialization of energy was generated. It has been observed that after the decreed of the environmental law, the hydropower plants have intensified their production considerably in order to satisfy the demand in the energy market. The abrupt changes in flow and stage of the rivers located downstream of the hydropower plants in order to fulfill demand peaks, are called hydropeaking and cause a lot of impacts in the majority of organisms and riverine ecosystems.
The purpose of this study is to assess the operational changes over time for part of the Norwegian hydropower system by evaluating trends on key hydrological indicators downstream of the power plant outlets. 26 stations located in rivers under the influence of hydroelectric plants (regulated) and 4 stations located in unregulated rivers were analyzed. The information obtained from these gauges included hourly discharge measurements [m3/s] and water level [m] registered since 1985 in some cases. With COSH-Tool, a general analysis of the frequency and intensity of the increasing and decreasing peaking events was made and a clear increment in the peaking events was found from 1991, right after implementing the new environmental law. Subsequently, the significance of these trends was evaluated with Mann Kendall and Sen's slope tests and it was found that around half of the stations located in the regulated rivers presented a significant positive trend, while the gauges situated in rivers without influence of hydropower plants showed almost no trends.
With this, it can be inferred that the changes in the operational strategies did generate an impact on the rivers located downstream the power plant outlets. Therefore it is necessary to evaluate the production standards of the hydroelectric plants and it is suggested to pay more attention to the frequency and intensity with which the hydroelectric plants must establish their operation, which should be done slower in order to avoid the hydropeaking phenomenon that takes place at the moment
Interview with Laura Ruiz
Laura Ruiz comes from an Indigenous background, her family are Zapotec from Southern Mexico. In college, Ruiz organized with MECHA and then later with Mujeres de Maiz in LA. She joined the Auntie Sewing Squad because it was a great opportunity to help while working from home with her two children. Her motivation is both for her own children and for the families across the nation who were most vulnerable to the pandemic. Ruiz is currently a science teacher and an artist and will use those skills first and foremost to serve the community she teaches in. Ultrastructural Alterations in Lepocinclis acus (Euglenophyta) Induced by Medium with High Organic Matter Content
Ultrastructural changes induced by exposure to excess of organic matter were studied in Lepocinclis acus (ex Euglena acus). The cells isolated from the Matanza River, Buenos Aires, Argentina, were grown in soil water medium (SWM). When transferred to medium enriched with Bacteriological Peptone OXOID®, marked body deformation and a significant shortening and widening of the cells was observed. These changes were unexpected in a species with quite rigid cells, a condition previously shown in studies of the pellicle fine structure. Transmission electron microscopy observations suggest that cellular deformation might be facilitated by an increase in strip number, whereas in the original strips normal ultrastructure was maintained. An increase in number and volume of paramylon grains and vacuoles, as well as the presence of membrane whorls in vacuoles was observed. The fine structure of organisms grown in medium with and without organic matter enrichment was compared, and the systematic and ecological importance of morphological changes triggered by cell deformation was discussed.Fil: Conforti, Visitacion Teresa D.. Modelos estructurales de cristales quirales de C10H12N2
[ES] En este trabajo se han estudiado diferentes modelos estructurales de cristales de 2-propil-1H-Benzimidazol (C10H12N2) con el fin de dar una explicación al origen estructural de la quiralidad en este compuesto orgánico. Inicialmente, se piensa que pueda deberse al ordenamiento helicoidal de las cadenas moleculares polares.
Se ha partido de resultados experimentales realizados anteriormente mediante técnicas de dicroÃsmo circular vibracional (VCD), los cuales no revelan la configuración quiral del compuesto 2-propil-1H-Benzimidazol. Por ello, se intenta dar una explicación desde el punto de vista estructural usando la técnica de difracción de rayos-X. Sin embargo, se han observado que existen diferentes configuraciones, llamadas diastereómeros, las cuales se ajustan igual de bien a los resultados obtenidos experimentalmente.
Debido a este hecho, y a que los tres diastereómeros poseen diferente energÃa de cohesión, se ha calculado el diagrama de difracción de neutrones para determinar si, mediante esta última técnica, se podrÃan diferenciar las estructuras.
No obstante, tampoco se observan diferencias apreciables entre las tres configuraciones.
Por este motivo, se ha intentado buscar una relación entre los tres diastereómeros basada en las simetrÃas del grupo espacial al que pertenecen, el grupo ��212121, y al normalizador de dicho grupo. Se ha comprobado que las tres configuraciones a las que se hacÃa referencia llamándolas diastereómeros son, en realidad, descripciones equivalentes de la misma estructura. De esta manera, se han podido justificar los resultados obtenidos mediante las otras técnicas y se deduce que las energÃas de cohesión calculadas previamente a este trabajo no son correctas, error principal que ha llevado a realizar todos los modelos estructurales posteriores.
Por último, se concluye que el ordenamiento helicoidal de las cadenas polares es el responsable de la existencia de quiralidad en este compuesto y que, aunque posea dos formas enantioméricas, solo cristaliza en una de ellas, como mostraban los experimentos de VCD

La present investigació es justifica en la recerca d’eines que puguin solucionar el problema de la no selecció de l’esgrima com a contingut de l’educació fÃsica escolar, tot assenyalant com a causes principals la falta de materials didà ctics relacionats amb l’esgrima i la necessitat que aquest s’adapti a l’escà s o a vegades inexistent coneixement de la modalitat.L’objecte d’aquest estudi és esbrinar si, mitjançant l’aportació d’un recurs pedagògic, és possible introduir el contingut de l’esgrima a les aules, tot millorant el procés de formació del professorat sense coneixement de la modalitat i reduint els prejudicis de l’alumnat i professorat cap aquest esport

Entre el hedonismo, la especulación y la necesidad: el caso del Parque Pignatelli de Zaragoza
El objetivo principal de la presente investigación es mostrar y reflexionar sobre los intereses que se
entrecruzaron en la creación del parque Pignatelli, primer parque construido en Zaragoza, cuyo proyecto
data del año 1892. En este sentido, se puede apuntar que este espacio verde nació bajo aspiraciones y
concepciones burguesas que conjuraron intereses económicos sobre la zona, a ello sumar la necesidad de
incorporar un lugar de ocio y esparcimiento ciudadano y también, de crear una zona bucólica a emulación
de otras ciudades.
Una interdisciplinariedad que exige abarcar un mayor número de lÃneas de investigación, siempre apoyadas
en la consulta de fuentes documentales. De ahÃ, que para dar sentido de una forma coherente y completa a
este trabajo se ha precisado el estudio de un amplio compendio documental y cartográfico procedente del
Archivo y Hemeroteca Municipal de Zaragoza.The main objective of the present research is to show and reflect on the interests that were intertwined in the
creation of the park Pignatelli, the first park built in Zaragoza, whose project dates from 1892. In this sense, it
can be pointed out that this green space was born under aspirations and bourgeois conceptions that
conjured economic interests over the area, adding to the need to incorporate a leisure place and citizenship
and also to create a bucolic area to emulate other cities.
Is an interdisciplinary study that requires to cover a greater number of lines of research, always supported by
the consultation of documentary sources. Hence, in order to give a coherent and complete sense to this
work, it has been necessary to study an extensive documentary and cartographic compendium from the
Archive and Municipal Library of Zaragoza
