Antimatter from supersymmetric dark matter
We propose low-energy antideuterons in cosmic rays as a new possible
signature for indirect detection of supersymmetric dark matter.
Since the energy spectrum of the antiproton secondary component is still
spoilt by considerable theoretical uncertainties, looking for low-energy
antideuterons seems a plausible alternative.
We apply our calculation to the AMS experiment, when mounted on the
International Spatial Station. If a few low-energy antideuterons will be
discovered by AMS, this should be seriously taken as a clue for the existence
of relic, massive neutralinos in the dark halo of our Galaxy.Comment: 8 pages, 8 figures, Talk presented at the 4th International Symposium

Proton conductivity of multifunctional metal phosphonate frameworks
Metal phosphonates exhibit attractive characteristics for proton conductivity, such as tunable functionality, chemical and thermal stability and the existence of H-bond networks with acidic protons within their structure.1
In the present work, we examine the relationship between crystal structure and proton conductivity for several metal (mono-, di- and tri-valent) phosphonates containing rigid: (5-(dihydroxyphosphoryl)isophthalic acid, PiPhtA and 2-hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid, HPAA) or flexible: (hexa- or octamethylenediamine-N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis(methylenephosphonic acid, H8HDTMP or H8ODTMP) multifunctional ligands. The crystalline hybrid derivatives prepared show a great structural diversity, from 1D to 3D open-frameworks possessing hydrogen-bonded water molecules and phosphonic and carboxylic acid groups. The rigid 3D framework of Ca-PiPhtA, that exhibits a proton conductivity of 5.7•10-4 S/cm as synthesized, transforms into a layered compound upon exposure to ammonia vapors2 with increased proton conductivity (6.6•10-3 S/cm). The flexible frameworks of magnesium or lanthanide phosphonates, with 1D channels, present conductivities higher than 10-3 S/cm. Their activation energies fall in the range corresponding to a Grotthuss mechanism.3,4 For M(I)-HPAA solids conductivities up to 5.6•10-3 S/cm were measured.

Energy demand prediction for the implementation of an energy tariff emulator to trigger demand response in buildings
Buildings are key actors of the electrical gird. As such they have an important role to play in grid
stabilization, especially in a context where renewable energies are mandated to become an increasingly
important part of the energy mix. Demand response provides a mechanism to reduce or displace electrical
demand to better match electrical production. Buildings can be a pool of flexibility for the grid to operate
more efficiently. One of the ways to obtain flexibility from building managers and building users is the
introduction of variable energy prices which evolve depending on the expected load and energy generation.
In the proposed scenario, the wholesale energy price of electricity, a load prediction, and the elasticity of
consumers are used by an energy tariff emulator to predict prices to trigger end user flexibility. In this paper,
a cluster analysis to classify users is performed and an aggregated energy prediction is realised using Random
Forest machine learning algorithm. This paper is part of a project that has received funding

Definition of the Subfamily Hedobiinae Based on Larval Characteristics (Coleoptera: Anobiidae)
Recently, Espanol (1968, 1970) redefined the subfamily Hedobiinae and, using the anatomy of adults, presented a key to separate the eight genera which form it. He also introduced some notable modifications, among them the inclusion of Ptilineurus and Clada in the subfamily and the elevation of Ptinomorphus Mulsant and Rey to generic rank. The latter genus includes, among others, the species P. imperialis Linnaeus and regalis Duftschmid, from Europe and P. granosus LeConte and angularus Fall from the United States of America
