A NOTE ON COMONOTONICITY AND POSITIVITY OF THE CONTROL COMPONENTS OF DECOUPLED QUADRATIC FBSDE

In this small note we are concerned with the solution of Forward-Backward Stochastic Differential Equations (FBSDE) with drivers that grow quadratically in the control component (quadratic growth FBSDE or qgFBSDE). The main theorem is a comparison result that allows comparing componentwise the signs of the control processes of two different qgFBSDE. As a byproduct one obtains conditions that allow establishing the positivity of the control process.Comment: accepted for publicatio

Phase Motion in the Scalar Low-Mass π−π+\pi^-\pi^+ Amplitude in D+→π−π+π+D^+ \to \pi^-\pi^+\pi^+

This work is a direct and model-independent measurement of the low mass $\pi^+\pi^-$ phase motion in the $D^+ \to \pi^-\pi^+\pi^+$ decay. The results show a strong phase variation, compatible with an isoscalar $\sigma(500)$ meson. This result confirms the previous Fermilab E791 result which found evidence for the existence of this scalar particle using a full Dalitz-plot analysis.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, talk given at X International Conference on Hadron Spectroscopy (HADRON '03), Aschaffenburg, German

Light Quark Spectroscopy and Charm Decays

Weak decays of charm mesons has been used for studies of light quark spectroscopy, with particular emphasis on the J^{PC}=0^{++} states. O contexto idiossincrático dos países em desenvolvimento, marcadamente distinto dos países da Tríade normalmente objeto de investigação académica, poderá levar a efeitos na decisão de empreender.turístico, de Jeremias Dias Furtado, Antonia Mercedes García Cabrera e Maria Gracia García Soto. A obra, resultado de uma tese de doutoramento, oferece uma abordagem institucional à problemática do empreendedorismo. A abordagem institucional estabelece as bases para um estudo empírico sobre a realidade de Cabo Verde que permite validar as relações propostas. A abordagem institucional selecionada é particularmente adequada para abordar a questão do empreendedorismo em países em desenvolvimento. Phase diagram of a 2D Ising model within a nonextensive approach

In this work we report Monte Carlo simulations of a 2D Ising model, in which the statistics of the Metropolis algorithm is replaced by the nonextensive one. We compute the magnetization and show that phase transitions are present for $q\neq 1$. A $q -$ phase diagram (critical temperature vs. the entropic parameter $q$) is built and exhibits some interesting features, such as phases which are governed by the value of the entropic index $q$. It is shown that such phases favors some energy levels of magnetization states. It is also showed that the contribution of the Tsallis cutoff is essential to the existence of phase transitions
