    Population growthis linear tothe requrement of settlement area, while the area of the earth is limited. It was caused inappropriate use of the land. This study aims to identify, analyze, and describe dynamics and suitability of land for settlements in Padang. Determination of land suitablity for settlementis using Multi Criteria Evaluation (MCE) method. The indicators used in determining the suitability of land for settlement is the slope, the frequency of flooding, drainage, distrubusi gravel, rock distribution and effective depth. Weighting in the analysis of land suitability based on the opinions of experts from various fields related to as many as 15 experts. Analysis result for land suitability of settlements in the area show that: there were 12.543 ha (18%) very suitable for settlement; 52.390 ha (75,4%) were suitable for settletment; 4.279 ha (6,2%).were compatible with marginal for settlement; and 285 ha (0,8%) were unsuitable for settlement. The area is very suitable for residential areas is very limited, so expect optimal utilization

This research aims to determine the sugarcane plants of ratooning productivity with lowexternal input of fertilization treatment towards farmers can increase profits. The method used is the Completely Randomized BlockDesign (CRBD) with four treatments and three repetitions (4x3). Sugarcane varieties R 579 planted in each patch experiment 5x5 m2.Dosage of fertilizer: P0 = 3.6 kg/year plot experiment was 100% dosage USAge of chemical fertilizers used by farmers. Further dosageswere P1 (75%) = 2.7 kg/plot, P2 (50%) = 1.8 kg/plot and P3 (0.25%) = 0.9 kg/plot, each supplemented with fertilizer 5 mL of liquidorganic/patch a year. Sugarcane crops with a variety of treatment showed no significant difference. The highest productivity wasachieved at dosages of P2 (50% chemical fertilizers plus organic fertilizer) is 21.67 kg per square meter. Chemical fertilizers can besaved 7 quintals per hectare a year or Rp 997,500 per year. Additional costs of liquid organic fertilizer Rp. 100,000 per hectare year andlabor Rp 100,000 per hectare, so the additional advantage of saving farmers fertilizer Rp. 797,500 per year

    Dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) still becomes health problem in Indramayu district. The objective of this research is to identify the priority elements of DHF controlling policy in Indramayu district according to 35 experts using analytical hierarchy process (AHP). The result of the research provides information that the “main strategy” of DHF controlling is the improvement of healthy living environment; the “main actor” is the Government of Indramayu district; the “main factor” is the environment; the “main objective” is zero DHF in Indramayu district; and the “main criteria” is the quantity and quality of human resources. Based on this data, in order to implement the main strategy effectively, the Government of Indramayu district should increase the interprogram and inter-institu-tional cooperation; provide technological, funding, and facilities of environment health education supports; increase the quality of Puskesmas services and develop the DHF controlling team in all administrative level

    Pengembangan Kebijakan Pengelolaan Berkelanjutan DAS Ciliwung Hulu Kabupaten Bogor

    Diperkirakan 13% atau 62 DAS dari 470 DAS di Indonesia berada dalam kondisi kritis, meskipun upaya konservasi tanah dan air dalam pegelolaan DAS telah diimplementasikan. DAS Ciliwung merupakan salah satu DAS kririts tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan di DAS Ciliwung Hulu, Kabupaten Bogor, ditujukan untuk (1) menentukan indeks keberlanjutan pengelolaan DAS Ciliwung Hulu, (2) mengetahui faktor-faktor penting yang menentukan tingkat keberlanjutan DAS Ciliwung Hulu, dan (3) memformulasikan pengembangan kebijakan pengelolaan berkelanjutan DAS Ciliwung Hulu. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah (MDS) untuk memperoleh nilai indeks keberlanjutan pengelolaan DAS. Analisis digunakan untuk menentukan faktor-faktor pengungkit dalam pengelolaan DAS Ciliwung Hulu. Formulasi pengembangan kebijakan pengelolaan berkelanjutan digunakan analisis prospektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan DAS Ciliwung Hulu kurang berkelanjutan. Faktor kunci dalam pengelolaan berkelanjutan DAS Ciliwung Hulu adalah (1) kapasitas koordinasi instansi pemerintah, (2) pemanfaatan kegiatan jasa wisata, (3) alternatif pendapatan petani dari kegiatan non-pertanian, (4) kegiatan penyuluhan pertanian dan kehutanan, dan (5) Perubahan penggunaan lahan menjadi lahan terbangun. Strategi pengembangan kebijakan pengelolaan berkelanjutan perlu dilakukan melalui intervensi peningkatan kinerja kelima faktor kunci tersebut secara terpadu dalam pengelolaan DAS Ciliwung Hulu.     Revitalisasi sektor pertanian pada dasarnya adalah menempatkan kembali arti pentingnya pertanian secara proporsional dan kontekstual, baik di perdesaan maupun perkotaan. Melihat kondisi pertanian di daerah perkotaan, khususnya DKI Jakarta, dan hubungannya dengan berbagai masalah lingkungan, perlu dirancang dan dirumuskan kebijakan yang komprehensif untuk pengembangan pertanian perkotaan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis faktor-faktor kunci yang mempengaruhi keberlanjutan dan kebijakan pengembangan pertanian perkotaan. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah MDS (multi-dimensional scaling) dan teknik Rap-Ur-Agri (Rapid Appraisal for Urban Agriculture). Analisis faktor kunci menggunakan leverage factor yang diikuti dengan penentuan indeks keberkelanjutan dan skenario kebijakan pengembangan pertanian dengan menggunakan metode analisis prospektif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa status keberlanjutan pengembangan pertanian perkotaan pada kondisi existing menunjukkan nilai indeks 48,70 persen atau kurang berkelanjutan. Faktor kunci keberlanjutan pertanian perkotaan mencakup empat aspek dan kebutuhan stakeholder mencakup empat aspek pengembangan sistem pertanian perkotaan. Kebijakan pengembangan pertanian perkotaan berkelanjutan di wilayah DKI Jakarta perlu dilakukan dengan pendekatan integratif dengan mempertimbangkan enam faktor kunci penentu keberlanjutan: (1) Luas pekarangan, (2) Pengembangan komoditas dan teknologi ramah lingkungan, (3) Penyuluhan dan kelembagaan pertanian, (4) Perluasan lahan/ruang USAha tani, (5) Kerjasama antar stakeholder, dan (6) Pemberian insentif pertanian.
