The COVID-19 pandemic has led to tremendous disruptions in people’s everyday activities, including the pursuit of education. Internet search data may provide insights into potential audiences’ interest in online education. Using Internet search data, we examined the impact of COVID-19 on people’s interest in supplementary online education in the US over nine months (10/14/2019–07/19/2020). We found there was increased interest in supplementary online education after WHO announced COVID-19 as a pandemic, with a greater increase among females than males. We found that the increased interest in online education persisted after the stay-at-home orders were lifted; in addition, we identified concerns over unemployment as a key variable that significantly explained the variance in the interest in online education, even after controlling for COVID cases and deaths. Policymakers and online education platforms may take advantage of people’s, especially women’s increased interest in online education when designing policies or marketing mix.</p

Construction of Sole Benzene Ring Porous Aromatic Frameworks and Their High Adsorption Properties

Porous organic frameworks (POFs), with their excellent performance in catalysis, electricity, sensor, gas storage, and separation, have attracted a great deal of attention from researchers all over the world. Generally, the monomers of POF materials require a rigid three-dimensional molecule configuration together with special functional groups, as well as being triggered by noble metal catalysts. Here we report a low-cost and easy-construction strategy for synthesizing PAF materials. A series of flat multi-benzene compounds are selected as building units, and those phenyl rings could couple together to form polymeric skeletons. The BET surface areas of resulting PAFs are moderate, ranging from 777 to 972 m2 g–1. However, they unexpectedly exhibit superior gas sorption capacities. At 1.0 bar and 77 K, the H2 uptake of PAF-48 reaches 215 cm3 g–1. In addition, PAF-49 shows excellent performance in carbon dioxide and methane sorption, with values of 104 and 35 cm3 g–1, respectively. With those adsorption properties, these PAF materials could be considered as potential candidates for energetic gas adsorbents

DataSheet_1_18F-FDG PET/CT radiomics nomogram for predicting occult lymph node metastasis of non-small cell lung cancer.docx

PurposeTo investigate the ability of a PET/CT-based radiomics nomogram to predict occult lymph node metastasis in patients with clinical stage N0 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Materials and methodsThis retrospective study included 228 patients with surgically confirmed NSCLC (training set, 159 patients; testing set, 69 patients). ITKsnap3.8.0 was used for image(CT and PET images) segmentation, AK version 3.2.0 was used for radiomics feature extraction, and Python3.7.0 was used for radiomics feature screening. A radiomics model for predicting occult lymph node metastasis was established using a logistic regression algorithm. A nomogram was constructed by combining radiomics scores with selected clinical predictors. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to verify the performance of the radiomics model and nomogram in the training and testing sets.ResultsThe radiomics nomogram comprising six selected features achieved good prediction efficiency, including radiomics characteristics and tumor location information (central or peripheral), which demonstrated good calibration and discrimination ability in the training (area under the ROC curve [AUC] = 0.884, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.826-0.941) and testing (AUC = 0.881, 95% CI: 0.8031-0.959) sets. Clinical decision curves demonstrated that the nomogram was clinically useful.ConclusionThe PET/CT-based radiomics nomogram is a noninvasive tool for predicting occult lymph node metastasis in NSCLC.</p
