Microneedling-Collagen Induction Therapy
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is an innovative, minimally invasive method used in dermatology and cosmetology to address various skin imperfections and signs of premature aging. This treatment involves techniques for applying multiple micro-pricks to the skin via a special appliance. The skin adopts them as injuries and stimulates reproduction of the main albumen of the human body—collagen. The already formed microchannels allow for maximum penetration of active substances into the dermis, resulting in an improvement in the turgor as well as the overall condition of the skin. In the modern world, microneedling is regarded as a safe and relatively inexpensive alternative to other invasive forms of skin rejuvenation. It is well tolerated by the skin, requires minimal time to perform, and has no recovery period
Changes in voice characteristics in dental prosthetics
Introduction: Speech impediment from tooth loss and denture treatment is one of the major problems for patients, especially those whose work involves talking or singing. Studies of this problem are scarce and far removed in the literature.Aim: The purpose of this study is to investigate how the voice characteristics of prosthetics are modified to improve clinical practice outcomes using scientific evidence on the subject.Materials and Methods: The following research databases were used for the study: MEDLINE, Scopus, EMBASE, and PubMed from January 2001 to August 2019 focused on studies specifically evaluating changes in the voice characteristics and speech function of patients undergoing prosthetic treatment. Results: Although the studies offer an assessment of speech function before and after prosthetics based on phonetics and corrections through speech production, no article describes speech adequacy with phonetic training in speech therapy. Conclusion: The speech function of patients undergoing prosthetic treatment is examined only by phonetic tests and prosthesis modifications performed by dental practitioners, which proves the need for clinical studies involving other specialists

Role of the Communication in the Training of the Dental Technician Under Pandemic Conditions
Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic exposed the population to psychological stress, fatigue, professional burnout, fear, and stigma, which entailed the necessity to provide efficient communication at the work place and within society in general. The response to this situation requires critical readiness and reaction, which includes efficient communication as a main strategy. Communication is an essential element of the training of dental technicians and is related to the achievement of better results in the process of training.Aim: The purpose of the present research is to evaluate the satisfaction from the communication carried out in the process of training of the dental technician students under pandemic conditions.Materials and Methods: A total of 55 students were tested through an anonymous questionnaire to evaluate the satisfaction from the communication in the process of training. The satisfaction from the carried out communication was evaluated by the use of the Likert scale rating from 1 to 7, with 1 being high satisfaction, and 7 being complete dissatisfaction. The results were statistically processed with SPSS v. 20.0 with the use of variation, dispersion and comparative analysis. Results: A total of 55 students from the three years of training took part in the research of student’s opinion on the communication carried out with the dental technician’s laboratory. The students felt satisfied with the communication policy of the educational institution, giving a high rating to the quality, quantity and type of the information provided to them. A major part of the students think that the training of dental technician students employs modern forms of communication (61.80%) and none of them gave a negative answer. Conclusion: The results from the analysis of the student’s satisfaction from the communication carried out in the process of training showed that they were satisfied but it still could not be evaluated what the long-term effects from the online training on the practical skills would be. More research is required in the form of quantitative and qualitative studies for better characterization of the pros and cons of online teaching
Evaluation of training in dental technology at the Medical College - Varna in a pandemic
The rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic internationally has led to measures such as social exclusion and the closure of schools at the end of March 2020. This has forced universities to move to the use of online learning platforms, regardless of the experience that teachers and students have in the field of modern technology, as well as their willingness to use them. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the training in dental technology at the Medical College - Varna in a pandemic.Material and methods: The opinion of the students of dental technology for their education at the Medical College - Varna was evaluated through an anonymous questionnaire. The results were statistically processed with SPSS v. 20.0 using variation, dispersion and comparative analyzes. Results: The study covered 69.80% of students enrolled in first, second and third year. 83.8% of the students believe that the information provided to them in the lecture course is up-to-date, 67.6% are satisfied with the organization of the practical exercises, and the same percentage are satisfied with the acquired practical skills. Conclusion: Students are also satisfied with the facilities provided by the university. Although part-time learning is temporary and alternative learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it can be considered a promising aspect of the formal integration and generation of online schools and programs. The success of this training is related to the integration of innovative online techniques (eg short personalized video lectures, interactive projects, discussion forums and information review tools), which includes solutions and suggestions for interactive teaching in teaching and learning
Comparative Analysis of Systems for Casting Working Models and Defining Their Use in Accordance to Clinical Cases // Сравнителен анализ на системите за отливане на работни модели и дефиниране на тяхната употреба, съобразно клиничните случаи
The aim of this study is to present a comparative analysis of the existing systems for casting working models and determine the significance of accuracy of prosthetic construction by type of system, thereof proving the need to implement specific system depending on the clinical case. Conclusions based on analysis of results: Movable stumps models are subject to change their positioning. Deviation of movable stumps in all directions s is essential for the different types of systems. The model created by a 3D printer is with the lowest mobility when subjected to use of force from all directions. There is a difference compared to norm as well; the system with the closest results to norm is a 3D model (0.15), while the greatest deviation (23.65) from the norm is observed in the Artimax system where fragments are separated by a thin jiggle. The least sensitive to placement and removal of elements is the 3D model. The most sensitive to placement and removal of elements is the ACCU-TRAC system. Methodology for selection of system for casting working models according to clinical cases is applied for the first time in the country. Methodology for establishing micro mobility of various types of systems for casting working models is developed. Methodology for establishing the micro mobility of stumps in various techniques of carrying out cuts between fragments is developed and implemented.
