Observational constraints on the LLTB model

We directly compare the concordance LCDM model to the inhomogeneous matter-only alternative represented by LTB void models. To achieve a "democratic" confrontation we explore LLTB models with non-vanishing cosmological constant and perform a global likelihood analysis in the parameter space of cosmological constant and void radius. In our analysis we carefully consider SNe, Hubble constant, CMB and BAO measurements, marginalizing over spectral index, age of the universe and background curvature. We find that the LCDM model is not the only possibility compatible with the observations, and that a matter-only void model is a viable alternative to the concordance model only if the BAO constraints are relaxed. Moreover, we will show that the areas of the parameter space which give a good fit to the observations are always disconnected with the result that a small local void does not significantly affect the parameter extraction for LCDM models.Comment: JHEP style: 23 pages, 6 figures; replaced to match the improved version accepted for publication in JCAP. Exact spherically-symmetric inhomogeneous model with n perfect fluids

We present the exact equations governing the dynamics of a spherically-symmetric inhomogeneous model with n decoupled and non-comoving perfect fluids. Thanks to the use of physically meaningful quantities we write the set of 3+2n equations in a concise and transparent way. The n perfect fluids can have general equations of state, thus making the model extremely flexible to study a large variety of cosmological and astrophysical problems. As applications we consider a model sourced by two non-comoving dust components and a cosmological constant, and a model featuring dust and a dark energy component with negligible speed of sound.Comment: 31 pages, 11 figures; matches version accepted for publication in JCAP; added application to clustering dark energy, comparison with previous work on exact solutions, and other minor improvements/reference

Tässä opinnäytetyössä tarkastellaan katukuvien visuaalista luonnetta ja jättömaiden tärkeyttä sekä käydään läpi tagien ja graffitin historiaa lyhyesti 1960-luvun New Yorkista tämän päivän Euroopan kaupunkeihin. Tarkastellaan Suomen ja muun Euroopan erilaisuutta katukuvan visuaalisessa ilmeessä. Berliinissä radanvarsia täynnä luvattomia maalauksia, jotka ei häiritse kansalaisia, Helsingin puhtaaseen tai vähintään kontrolloidusti maalattuun ympäristöön. Luvallisen ja luvattoman graffitin erot, joka näkyy maalausten luonteessa sekä eri ympäristöissä elämän todisteina. Luvattomuus mahdollistaa vapauden samaan aikaan yhteiskunnan yrittäessä kontrolloida sitä. Olemme vapaita vain systeemin luomien raamien sisällä. Mitä siis on vapaus? Luvattoman graffitin ja tarrojen sekä keikkajulisteiden olemassaolon vaikutus kaupunki ympäristöön ja viihtyvyyteen on suuri. Steriili ja kontrolloitu katukuva luo tunteen epäluottamuksesta ja osoittaa kansalaiselle, että hänet pidetään ruodussa. Pyrkimyksenä on avata lukijan ajatusmaailmaa näkemään luvattomasti tehdyt töhryt ja turhina sekä unohdettuina pidetyt paikat tärkeinä. Mielenkiintoiset ja pienet asiat elinympäristössämme ovat välttämättömiä yksilön vapauden kokemukselle. Kaupunkikulttuuri köyhtyy huomaamatta.This thesis is about visual nature of the street image and the importance of the so-called no man´s lands. It goes through in brief of the history of tags and graffiti from the late 1960s New York to today's European cities. It looks at the difference between Finland and the rest of Eu-rope in the visual look of the street image through my own experience. Writer tells you the places where he`s been, what is there to be seen and experienced. From Berlin`s scene full of unauthorized graffiti that doesn´t disturb the citizens at all to a clean, or at least controlled street art scene in Helsinki. Moottoripyörien käyttö ensihoidossa : Kirjallisuuskatsaus

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli kartoittaa tietoa moottoripyörien käytöstä ensihoidossa ja vastata kahteen tutkimuskysymykseen: mitä hyviä puolia ensihoitomoottoripyörien käytöstä on havaittu ja mitä huonoja puolia ensihoitomoottoripyörien käytöstä on havaittu. Aikaisempaa tutkimusta aiheesta ei ollut olemassa. Työ toteutettiin integroivana kirjallisuuskatsauksena. Toteutus koostui eri vaiheista, jotka olivat tutkimusongelman asettaminen, aineiston kerääminen, arvioiminen, analyysi ja tulkinta sekä saatujen tulosten esittäminen. Tiedonhaku suoritettiin sekä suomalaisesta että kansainvälisistä tietokannoista (Medic, Medline, Pubmed, Cinahl) ja tämän perusteella aineistoksi valikoitui kuusi artikkelia. Jokaisen artikkelin kieli oli englanti. Aineistolle suoritettiin myös induktiivinen sisällönanalyysi. Ensihoitomoottoripyörien käytöllä voidaan vähentää potilaan tavoittamisen vasteaikaa ja nopeuttaa hoidon aloittamista. Moottoripyörillä voidaan liikkua perinteistä ambulanssia nopeammin ja joustavammin etenkin ruuhkaisessa kaupunkiympäristössä. Lisäksi moottoripyöriä voidaan hyödyntää resurssien oikeaan kohdentamiseen ja tukitoimintaan. Moottoripyörien käyttöön ensihoidossa liittyy rajoitteita, jotka vaikeuttavat niiden laajamittaista hyödyntämistä. Monilla alueilla moottoripyörät soveltuvat ambulanssia heikommin ympärivuotiseen ja -vuorokautiseen käyttöön ilmastollisista syistä johtuen. Toimittaessa yksin hoitotoimenpiteiden suorittaminen vaikeutuu ja työturvallisuus voi olla heikompaa. Lyhyemmän vasteajan ja potilaiden nopeamman saavutettavuuden vaikutuksista potilaiden kliiniseen tilaan ja selviytymiseen löytyi vain vähäistä näyttöä. Ensihoitomoottoripyörien käytöstä voi olla hyötyä oikeanlaisessa ympäristössä. Tämä vaatii kuitenkin tarkkaa selvitystä paikallistasolla huomioiden etenkin sää- ja ilmasto-olosuhteet, toimintaympäristön ja henkilöstöresurssit. Jatkotutkimukselle ilmeni tarvetta ensihoitomoot toripyörien käytöstä potilaan selviytymiseen ja kliinisen tilan vaikutuksiin
