Sports Indices Predicting Sustainability Of Sports Development In Kwara State
The purpose of this research is to find out that the do sport policy, sports infrastructure and sports funding have any significant relative contribution in predicting sustainable sports development in Kwara State. The research method used is descriptive survey research type. The population in this study consisted of 127 sports coordinators and trainers in Kwara State. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 112 respondents. The data collection instrument used a self-developed questionnaire and validated by three experts. The reliability retest method was adopted whereby 20 copies of the questionnaire were administered to sports managers in the state of Oyo, two times between two weeks interval and the results of the two were correlated using PPMC and 0.77r was obtained. Data analysis used PPMC and multiple linear regression at an alpha level of 0.05. The results of the study illustrate that the sports index (sports policy, sports infrastructure and sports funding) makes a significant contribution to sustainable sports development in Kwara State, Nigeria. The conclusion is that funds, infrastructure, human resources are important elements for the sustainability of sports development
Indices determining effective teaching of physical education in secondary school teachers in Ilorin West Local Government Area
Many factors cause students' physical education learning outcomes to be not so encouraging, ranging from learning infrastructure, teacher competence, learning environment, learning curriculum. The purpose of this study was to investigate the index of determining the effective teaching of physical education in secondary schools in West Ilorin Local Government Area, Kwara State, Nigeria. Descriptive research design of survey type is used in this research. The population for this study consisted of sixty-five (65) physical education teachers in both public and private secondary schools. Four five (45) public secondary schools and twenty (20) private secondary schools were deliberately selected for this study. The questionnaire was well structured and designed by the researcher as the instrument used for data collection. The instrument was validated and the reliability of the instrument was confirmed through the split-half method. This instrument was given to 20 respondents from the East Ilorin Regional Government, Kwara State. All items on even numbers are scored separately, as well as scores on odd items. Both scores were analyzed using Cronbach's alpha, which yielded 0.62r. Sixty-five (65) questionnaire forms were taken and analyzed using PPMC and Multiple Linear Regression at an alpha level of 0.05. Based on the research findings, it is concluded that the Index (teaching materials, teaching strategies and school factors) determines the effectiveness of teaching physical education in junior high schools in the Ilorin Local Government Area of ​​Kwara State, Nigeria. The researcher recommends that this type of research should be conducted in other Local Government Areas in Kwara State to investigate the index that determines effective physical education teaching
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT VARIABLES AS CORRELATE OF COMMUNITY SPORTS DEVELOPMENT AMONG PUBLIC TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN KWARA STATE
ABSTRACT. Community sports bind families and communities through shared experienced which also empowers, inspires, and motivates individuals. The purpose of this study was to examine resource management variables including funding, facilities, equipment and sports personnel related to the development of community sports development in public tertiary institutions in Kwara State. Purposive sampling technique was used to select seventy-two (72) respondents in all public tertiary institutions in Kwara State. Self-developed, Structured and validated questionnaire was used with test-retest method of reliability and 0.75r was obtained. Data were analyzed using inferential statistic of PPMC and the findings revealed that three (3) hypotheses tested were significant. This implies that funding, facilities, equipment and sports personnel highly contribute to community sports development. Based on the findings the following conclusion was drawn that resources management variables (funding, facility, equipment and sports personnel) were significantly correlate to community sports development. Based on the conclusion the recommendation was made: that governing council in Public Tertiary Institutions in Kwara State should made sufficient fund, adequate number of sports personnel and provision of standard sports facilities and equipment to Sports Unit (Sports Council) for the development of community sports in tertiary institution in Kwara state.Keywords: Management resources; funding; facilities; sport personne

Influence of Fan Behaviour on the Self-Esteem of Amateur Athletes in Kwara State, Nigeria
Since the inception of organized sports, there have been fans or spectators cheering for their favorite athletes and teams in order to increase their confidence and improve their overall performance. This study examined the influence of fan behaviour on the self-esteem of amateur athletes in Kwara State. The variables investigated are fans’ perception, discrimination, violent reactions, and feelings of disappointment. Descriptive research design of survey method was adopted for the study. The population for the study was amateur athletes from four sports (Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and Handball). Purposive and sample technique was used for the study. The sample for the study consists of 140 amateur athletes in Kwara State. The research instrument for this study was questionnaire developed by the researcher which was used for data collection. Frequency and percentage was used to analyze the demographic data of respondents while the hypotheses were tested using inferential statistic of Chi-square at 0.05 alpha level. The findings of the study revealed that; fans perception of athletes as a failure, discrimination, violent reactions, and feelings of disappointment influenced the self-esteem of amateur athletes. Based on the findings, the study recommends that stakeholders such as media, sports council and relevant agencies of government should conduct enlightenment programmes on management and control of fan behaviour in Kwara State.</jats:p

Management Skills as Determinant for Selecting Management Model Among Sports Managers in Kwara State, Nigeria
Knowledge, understanding and displaying good management skills will help sports managers of the sports organization to position the teams and clubs. Descriptive correlation study carried out using a survey method for this study. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 85 sports managers of the sports organization. Data were collected using self-developed questionnaire as an instrument. The entire questionnaire yielded a reliability value of 0.77r. Data were analysed using multiple linear Regression at the 0.05 alpha levels.The findings show significant multiple correlations. The regression indicated that the management skills was a good contributor for the selection of management model (F (4, 95) = 2.267, P Ë‚ .000). Based on the findings of this study, the researcher concluded that management skills contribute to the selection of the management model. Recomendation on government and stakeholder in the state should organize seminar, workshop and training for sports managers of the sports organizations in Kwara state for them to have knowledge on management skills which is crucial to their job
