On the domain of attraction for the lower tail in Wicksell's corpuscle problem
We consider the classical Wicksell corpuscle problem with spherical particles
in R^n and investigate the shapes of lower tails of distributions of `sphere
radii' in R^n and `sphere radii' in a k-dimensional section plane. We show in
which way the domains of attraction are related to each other.Comment: 6 page
Normal Approximation of Kabanov–Skorohod Integrals on Poisson Spaces
We consider the normal approximation of Kabanov–Skorohod integrals on a general Poisson space. Our bounds are for the Wasserstein and the Kolmogorov distance and involve only difference operators of the integrand of the Kabanov–Skorohod integral. The proofs rely on the Malliavin–Stein method and, in particular, on multiple applications of integration by parts formulae. As examples, we study some linear statistics of point processes that can be constructed by Poisson embeddings and functionals related to Pareto optimal points of a Poisson process
Electromechanically tunable dielectric microwave devices
High-tunable low-loss microwave dielectric devices are designed by electromechanical alteration in the configuration of device components. Specifically, this device consists of dielectric and metallic parts with an air gap between them. The gap location provides the largest perturbation in the electromagnetic field and a mini-actuator controls the device. Through experiments conducted, we test and apply the high-tunable dielectric resonators and filters as well as wide-band low-loss phase shifters
On solving the problem of kinetics of vulcanization with the use of numerical methods
A new approach of describing kinetics of curing was proposed. This allowed for formal adjustment of the previously proposed scheme of vulcanization, application of a mathematical model to kinetic curves of any shape and analytical evaluation of isothermal cure kinetics on the basis of economical laboratory experiments. The method of studying kinetics of vulcanization is based on the assumption that individual stages of the vulcanization process significantly differ in speed. To determine rate constants for individual stages the rheometric curve was divided into some areas. It allowed to use only a specific set of ordinary coupled reactions of the first and second order for describing vulcanization of rubbers under analysis. Software for solving direct and inverse problems of the kinetics of isothermal cure was developed
In the work, problems of analysis and synthesis of discharge circuits of high-voltage pulse test devices are considered adjusted for nonlinearity of switchboards. Analytical relations taking into account a volt-second characteristic represented by a declining exponential dependence are presented
Multivariate risks and depth-trimmed regions
We describe a general framework for measuring risks, where the risk measure
takes values in an abstract cone. It is shown that this approach naturally
includes the classical risk measures and set-valued risk measures and yields a
natural definition of vector-valued risk measures. Several main constructions
of risk measures are described in this abstract axiomatic framework.
It is shown that the concept of depth-trimmed (or central) regions from the
multivariate statistics is closely related to the definition of risk measures.
In particular, the halfspace trimming corresponds to the Value-at-Risk, while
the zonoid trimming yields the expected shortfall. In the abstract framework,
it is shown how to establish a both-ways correspondence between risk measures
and depth-trimmed regions. It is also demonstrated how the lattice structure of
the space of risk values influences this relationship.Comment: 26 pages. Substantially revised version with a number of new results

Development of mathematical model of curing two-phase polymeric systems
During research of kinetics of curing of two-phase elastomeric composites the new kinetic model, allowed to explain heterogeneity of the grid which was formed in this process of curing crosslink was developed. In numerical experiments it is shown that average extent of sewing together of all system increases more slowly, than when curing in lack of diffusion of vulcanizing substances, and the speed of curing and the general extent of sewing together of a composite as a whole decreases
