The performance of two mothers wavelets in function approximation.
Research into Wavelet Neural Networks was conducted on numerous occasions in the past. Based on previous research,
it was noted that the Wavelet Neural Network could reliably be used for function approximation. The research conducted
included comparisons between the mother functions of the Wavelet Neural Network namely the Mexican Hat, Gaussian
Wavelet and Morlet Functions. The performances of these functions were estimated using the Normalised Square Root
Mean Squared Error (NSRMSE) performance index. However, in this paper, the Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE)
was used as the performance index. In previous research, two of the best mother wavelets for function approximations
were determined to be the Gaussian Wavelet and Morlet functions. An in-depth investigation into the two functions was
conducted in order to determine which of these two functions performed better under certain conditions. Simulations
involving one-dimension and two-dimension were done using both functions. In this paper, we can make a specifically
interpretation that Gaussian Wavelet can be used for approximating function for the function domain [−1, 1]. While
Morlet function can be used for big domain. All simulations were done using Matlab V6.5

Determining the causes of divorce in Perlis using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process / Mohd Fazril Izhar Mohd Idris, Khairu Azlan Abd Aziz and Muhammad Farhan Mohd Kamarulzaman
Divorce is one of the most common problems in the world and Malaysia is also considered as one of the countries that has many divorce cases. By definition, divorce is the legal dissolution of a marriage by a court or other competent body. Divorce is also categorized as an unfortunate occurrence as it would cause negative feelings and behaviors to someone who experienced it. Furthermore, there are nine factors of divorce used in the study which are infidelity, emotional problem, drugs problem, sexual problem, communication problem, problem with in-law, married too young and job conflict. Hence, the strongest factor needs to be determined as a precaution to people who want to married and people who are already married. Therefore, the best and suitable method to determine the strongest factor of divorces in Perlis is by using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP). This is due to the capability and the ability of the FAHP in achieving better accuracy and consistency in the decision makers’ judgment. The method was conducted by using questionnaires and interview sessions with six selected respondents from Perlis State Islamic Affairs and Malay Customs and Perlis Syariah Judiciary Department. After that, the respondents were asked to rate the pairwise comparisons by using Saaty Scale which is from one to nine. Then, all the surveys were collected and converted into triangular fuzzy number prior further analysis by using Microsoft Excel. The analysis shows that the strongest factor of divorces in Perlis is drugs problem with the normalized relative weight of 0.203. Hence, Perlis residents need to be aware of the factors of divorce in the state and they can try to reduce the number of divorce cases in Perlis as well
The determination of factors that influence the noise pollution in Malaysia using fuzzy logic / Mohd Fazril Izhar Mohd Idris, Nur Afifah Zainol Abidin and Khairu Azlan Abd Aziz
Nowadays, the economy of our country has increased, so the use of transport, whether on land or by air, has also increased. This will lead to noise pollution, which will have an impact on human health. Noise pollution was an unpleasant sound that could have a negative impact on human health, such as sleep disturbance, hearing loss, annoyance, and stress. There are many factors that can cause noise pollution such as road traffic, aircraft, commercial construction, industrial and manufacturing noise. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the factor that influences noise pollution in Malaysia using Fuzzy Logic. The determination of factors that affect noise pollution in Malaysia using the Fuzzy Logic approach includes the determination of input and output variables, Fuzzification, Fuzzy Rule-Based, Fuzzy Inference Method and Defuzzification. In Defuzzification which is the last stage for Fuzzy logic, Centroid method used since it can give a result with more accurate and flexible. This study used road traffic noise, aircraft noise, industrial and manufacturing noise and commercial construction as factors for noise pollution, as well as input variables. This method was used to determine which factors have the most influence on noise pollution. The results of this study show that road traffic noise and industrial and manufacturing noise were factors which had an impact on noise pollution with a maximum value of 82. This shows that the aim of this study has been achieved

Pricing warrant by using binomial model: comparison between historical and implied volatility / Khairu Azlan Abd Aziz… [et al.]
A warrant is a security that allows the holder to buy and sell the underlying share at a fixed price until expiry date. Warrant price will always fluctuates since the underlying share also fluctuates. Hence, determining the warrant price is the main problem among the investors in Malaysia. This research is focusing on pricing the warrant for five companies that were listed in Bursa Malaysia. The companies were chosen randomly from UiTM DataStream. The selected companies were Boon Koon Sdn Bhd, Hovid Bhd, Kelington Bhd, ML Global Bhd and Tropicana Corporation Bhd. The data contained underlying share, interest rate, exercise price and actual warrant price. This research aims to define the price of warrant by using Binomial model. Historical volatility and implied volatility were used in this research whereby volatility is the movement of the underlying share price. This research aims at comparing the actual warrant price with the calculated warrant price. The data were computed manually by using Microsoft Excel and the comparison was made between the two type of volatilities to give the nearest value of calculated warrant price to the actual warrant price. The nearest value was assumed the best value for this research. The result was made by analyzing the line graphs and comparing between historical volatility and implied volatility with actual warrant price. Mean Square Error was used to support the results that were obtained from the line graphs. In the end, implied volatility yielded better results compared to historical volatility
