Conference Programme
On 12 - 13 February 2007 the IHR held a conference called 'Why History Matters' to discuss the question of why History is a crucial element in UK education and national life in the early twenty-first century. Delegates were drawn from an unprecedented range of professional backgrounds, including primary, secondary, further and higher education, school governors, HMIs, representatives of museums, the QCA, the media, the connexions and guidance services, examining boards, English Heritage, the Council for British Archaeology and Historic Royal Palaces
Conference Programme
On 13 - 14 February 2006 the IHR held a conference called 'History and the Public'. The conference brought together a broad range of people from universities, archives, museums, publishers and the media to discuss how the public study and consume history.
This conference at the IHR was followed by another conference at Swansea University (Wales) on 12 - 14 April 2007. This conference was organised by the History Department, Swansea University, in conjunction with the IHR and the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea

El portal del "National Register of Archives" (http://www.nra.nationalarchives.gov.uk/nra/) brinda acceso a muchos materiales de posible interés para investigadores sobre Iberoamérica, aunque su enfoque lo constituyen los documentos relacionados estrictamente con la historia del Reino Unido y con personajes británicos. Desafortunadamente, no permite la búsqueda por materia; los Ãndices están basados en la procedencia de los documentos, sea individuo, familia, entidad, o lugar.
