Matrices coupled in a chain. I. Eigenvalue correlations
The general correlation function for the eigenvalues of complex hermitian
matrices coupled in a chain is given as a single determinant. For this we use a
slight generalization of a theorem of Dyson.Comment: ftex eynmeh.tex, 2 files, 8 pages Submitted to: J. Phys.
Probability density of determinants of random matrices
In this brief paper the probability density of a random real, complex and
quaternion determinant is rederived using singular values. The behaviour of
suitably rescaled random determinants is studied in the limit of infinite order
of the matrices
Yang-Mills Integrals
Two results are presented for reduced Yang-Mills integrals with different
symmetry groups and dimensions: the first is a compact integral representation
in terms of the relevant variables of the integral, the second is a method to
analytically evaluate the integrals in cases of low order. This is exhibited by
evaluating a Yang-Mills integral over real symmetric matrices of order 3.Comment: LaTeX, 10 pages, references added and minimal change
Random matrices
Since the publication of Random Matrices (Academic Press, 1967) so many new results have emerged both in theory and in applications, that this edition is almost completely revised to reflect the developments. For example, the theory of matrices with quaternion elements was developed to compute certain multiple integrals, and the inverse scattering theory was used to derive asymptotic results. The discovery of Selberg's 1944 paper on a multiple integral also gave rise to hundreds of recent publications. This book presents a coherent and detailed analytical treatment of random matrices, leadin
