Efficient image copy detection using multi-scale fingerprints

    Get PDF
Inspired by multi-resolution histogram, we propose a multi-scale SIFT descriptor to improve the discriminability. A series of SIFT descriptions with different scale are first acquired by varying the actual size of each spatial bin. Then principle component analysis (PCA) is employed to reduce them to low dimensional vectors, which are further combined into one 128-dimension multi-scale SIFT description. Next, an entropy maximization based binarization is employed to encode the descriptions into binary codes called fingerprints for indexing the local features. Furthermore, an efficient search architecture consisting of lookup tables and inverted image ID list is designed to improve the query speed. Since the fingerprint building is of low-complexity, this method is very efficient and scalable to very large databases. In addition, the multi-scale fingerprints are very discriminative such that the copies can be effectively distinguished from similar objects, which leads to an improved performance in the detection of copies. The experimental evaluation shows that our approach outperforms the state of the art methods.Inspired by multi-resolution histogram, we propose a multi-scale SIFT descriptor to improve the discriminability. Flat band magnetism and helical magnetic order in Ni-doped SrCo2_2As2_2

A series of Sr(Co1x_{1-x}Nix_x)2_2As2_2 single crystals was synthesized allowing a comprehensive phase diagram with respect to field, temperature, and chemical substitution to be established. Our neutron diffraction experiments revealed a helimagnetic order with magnetic moments ferromagnetically (FM) aligned in the abab plane and a helimagnetic wavevector of q=(0,0,0.56)q=(0,0,0.56) for xx = 0.1. The combination of neutron diffraction and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) measurements show that the tuning of a flat band with dx2y2d_{x^2-y^2} orbital character drives the helimagnetism and indicates the possibility of a quantum order-by-disorder mechanism.Comment: 9 pages, 12 figures, Supplementary Material available upon request, accepted by Phys. Systematic analysis of the necroptosis index in pan-cancer and classification in discriminating the prognosis and immunotherapy responses of 1716 glioma patients

Necroptosis is a programmed form of necrotic cell death that serves as a host gatekeeper for defense against invasion by certain pathogens. Previous studies have uncovered the essential role of necroptosis in tumor progression and implied the potential for novel therapies targeting necroptosis. However, no comprehensive analysis of multi-omics data has been conducted to better understand the relationship between necroptosis and tumor. We developed the necroptosis index (NI) to uncover the effect of necroptosis in most cancers. NI not only correlated with clinical characteristics of multiple tumors, but also could influence drug sensitivity in glioma. Based on necroptosis-related differentially expressed genes, the consensus clustering was used to classify glioma patients into two NI subgroups. Then, we revealed NI subgroup I were more sensitive to immunotherapy, particularly anti-PD1 therapy. This new NI-based classification may have prospective predictive factors for prognosis and guide physicians in prioritizing immunotherapy for potential responders

Nonlinear Dynamics Study of Giant Magnetostrictive Actuators with Fractional Damping

    No full text
Since the structural mechanics of the super magnetostrictive actuator (GMA) system involves problems related to viscoelastic damping materials, the fractional order is more accurate than the integer order calculus to characterize the viscoelastic features in the structure. In order to further investigate the intrinsic mechanism and dynamical characteristics of the GMA dynamical system, the dynamical equations of the nonlinear GMA system containing fractional damping terms are established and the main resonance of the system is analyzed using the averaging method. The mechanism of the influence of some parameters on the GMA system is analyzed by MATLAB numerical simulation to study the bifurcation and chaotic motion phenomena of the system from the qualitative and quantitative perspectives. The results show that the fractional damping coefficient, external excitation amplitude and fractional order have significant effects on the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the system; the fractional order has a greater influence on the bifurcation and chaotic behavior of the system; the dynamic behavior of the system caused by the change of external excitation amplitude and fractional damping coefficient at different damping orders is similar but the chaotic region is different
