    <p>Putative predictors include climate, geographic, population, and sampling factors. Seasonal characteristics were based on linear seasonal regression models fitted to province-specific weekly laboratory surveillance data (<a href="http://www.plosmedicine.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pmed.1001552#pmed-1001552-g004" target="_blank">Figure 4</a>).
